We also have to realize that, it is only because of our unique and intimate relationship with the United States that we are having the discussion about a merge between our two great nations. We may have our disagreements but we still remain closest allies and partners. Any comments to the contrary, tell that to NATO, NORAD, NAFTA and other joint organizations..

We still remain as your largest trading partner... So lets just get along shall we? EDIT: Full Sovereignty does not mean that we have to go around antagonizing everybody who is not part of our nation..

On the Separation of Church and State: In my view, the most veracious set of beliefs will shine through just as strongly even if the possibility of the contrary is just as evident. Only when our Christian beliefs are supported only by moral appeal and not by law, we can say "this is Good". Only when human beings are able to follow our Christian beliefs through sincerity, and not through coercion, we can say "this is Good". We cannot convince our neighbours by force, we must be accepting at all times. We must not fight this battle armed with the hand of the law, nor can we fight this battle through means of violence. We must always remain an immovable force of love, joy, peace, paitence and kindness. I cannot accept a society where people are persecuted for not following the Christian doctrine. However, I can only find honour in a society where people are NOT lawfully bound by our beliefs, and yet they practise them anyhow.

Hear hear.. The point of secularism is to get everybody to get along with each other.. Secularism does not mean atheism.. It means religious harmony and tolerance. Atheism takes as much faith as believing in God, so the point is: you believe in whatever you want to believe and I will believe in what I want to believe.
