2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms: a) freedom of conscience and religion; B ) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication; c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and d) freedom of association. OH NO!!! WE HAVE FREEDOMS!! Oh would you look at that.. I guess it is evil, we have a freedom of conscience and religion.. that way, we cannot be brainwashed.. Now your plan will never work.. Let's start a righteous uprising, where do I sign up? You are lucky that you are in Canada and not in the States.. You would have been burned at the stake for saying that..

The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is very socially evil
-
Yes I know it works. That is how Hitler maintained control over the SS and the Nazi youth.. But you know what? Over here, we have individual rights and freedoms.. we are not obligated to die for our country.. I'm sorry, this is the "Canadian" way. We don't have to agree with the governments ideas if we don't want to.. Now you tell me... According to your philosophy here, were you born in the country? There seems to be a lot of things you and Canada disagree with here.. Mainly the fact that we have individual freedoms and the Citizenship Act..
-
Yes, let the Arab nations be our role models.. Who cares about the constitution right? Lets just use the Holy Bible..
-
Gotta hate that socially tolerant, world class, leading education system eh? Maybe we should change our school curriculum back to the old days.. "Everybody, the Chinks are evil!! If they are not born in the country, it's even worse!!" or... "Canadians are perfect and we should rule the planet!!"
-
Now you see how I, with my "rationale", equated this situation with "fascism".. But hey, you know what? You aren't alone.. Adolf Hitler used this same tactic.. Thomas Jefferson, Trudeau, Diefenbaker - Cover your ears!!
-
Sure. Taking advantage of Indian instability was very friendly.. Sure, the British East India Company sounds very friendly to me.. Actually, it doesn't.. It just sounds like colonization.

Making it law for people to serve in the CF and potentially die for the country is highly unconstitutional.. It is a severe encroachment of individual rights and freedoms (and if you forgot, we have that over here.. which by the way states that all citizens shall be exempt from discrimination). This concept is like "forced patriotism". Here is a better idea.. How about we run our forces on a voluntary basis.. If we use this method, the people who really want to show their loyalty and perhaps die for the country can go with honour.

Like I implied before, apparently, you feel obligated to remain loyal to a country's beliefs and values, REGARDLESS of your own personal beliefs, because you were just born there.. You see, if I was born in India, I would look over to Canada and say, "hey look over there, I like what they have going on there.. Hey, you know what? I believe in individual rights and democracy.. Hey, you know what? I would rather be Canadian than American, I am a social democrat..". Then, I would move to Canada and become Canadian. I would not give half a shit if I was born in India, I would move to Canada anyway. This applies to being born anywhere in the world.. But of course, you would not allow me to do this.. To you, I would not be a "full Canadian".. Diefenbaker is rolling in his grave about now..
-
Would you not think that anybody that made has it as far as politics has been assimilated into the country..? Me too. Let's be fascist while we are at it
-
Good to know that your interest in Canadian affairs relies on the fact that you were born here.. Not because of the fact that you believe in our system, are loyal to the Crown and Canada and share our common values and beliefs.. "It is possible to assimilate but it is frowned upon by many who come to this country and many of the white Liberal elite. It isn't a law that they must and so many do not." Whatever buddy..
-
Do you have any idea how many CANADIANS there are that were born out of the country? A lot of them are more loyal to Canada than a lot of Canadian born citizens.. Oh yeah, guess what? The GG was born in Haiti.. Maybe you should take this up to the Queen or the Prime Minister.. Apparently, she isn't Canadian enough.
-
By the way, glad to know that you don't believe in the Citizenship Act..
-
Sure. Must've sucked if he decided to "create" you in India eh? Tell that to my good full blooded ethnically Chinese friend who came to this country when he was 3 or 4...
-
Ah I see, only people who were born in the UK and Canada are able to fathom these oh so unfathomable principles?
-
I am sorry but that is just so closed minded. Based on a pure lucky roll of the dice... Viola! You are now born in Canada.. In addition, you are entitled to be "more Canadian" than everybody else.. Woohoo Assimilation.. Ever hear of that word?
-
You have a problem with Tommy Douglas and John Turner? What makes you think that somebody born out of the country is considered a "foreigner"??! Jeez.. Does the Citizenship act mean anything anymore?? What makes you think that somebody born inside the country is automatically loyal to the country?
-
"Ah, I see. Thank you for that.. Now show me the part that makes her an invalid Canadian " Now you lost me.. Anyhow, please tell me.. Why should being born out of the country effect anything?
-
This is exactly one of the ugly things about the American system.. Being born in the country does not mean that you are automatically loyal or whatever.. What is so wrong with being born out of the country? Tommy Douglas was born in Scotland..
-
Then why did you bring it up..? Who cares?
-
18.13% of the popular vote..
-
Ah, I see. Thank you for that.. Now show me the part that makes her an invalid Canadian

Should all immigrants be required to pass a citizenship test?
