Do you have a favourite piece of classical music?
Sir Bandelot replied to scouterjim's topic in Arts and Culture
There's a lot that I like as well, hard to pick a one-time fave. But as you mention "classical", it would have to be Beethoven Symphony 9. -
What is the UN? It is made up of people. Maybe if the US appointed someone with better intentions than John Bolton, we'd see some progress. Otherwise what we see is, lies and iniquity leading to paralysis, and finally, self defeat.

Why do they not condemn such actions? One has to understand the politics of power. If we were to truly do what's right, the whole system would have to be dismantled from top to bottom. I say this because, all have blood on their hands. Too many big contracts are at stake. They love money more than truth, love and respect. These people have sold out. They don't have a moral leg to stand on. All they have is, money.

Indeed many people were involved in making similar false claims, to get their vengeance against Saddams regime. There are no friends when the game is played full of lies and intrigue. Chalabi was also an unreliable source who was alleged to have fabricated stories, to enable the US war machine and ultimately increase his own personal power. But this is common, not new and the US intelligence services should have known better. This was a case where actual facts did not matter, what was more important was to catapult the propaganda. I think Colin Powell already knew that he was spouting pure horse, even while he delivered the famous speech. What happened with Powell is a tragedy because many people now seriously doubt the administration when they claim that some enemy is developing weapons of such and such, to the detriment of our own security. Their lies have now become self-defeating.

2011 - The Year of the Middle Eastern Revolution
Sir Bandelot replied to August1991's topic in The Rest of the World
As indicated, although the people of these lands have a legitimate reason to protest and demand a better life, our western leaders had no problem propping up their dictatorship, even when that government was proven to be an enemy of freedom and democracy. The buck is what brings our leadership to the table, and they are wiling to whore themselves for it, even to the point of self defeat. The fact that we have assisted these governments, to sustain themselves, even rewarded them for a greasy oil deal, adds to the misery of these people who live there and I'm quite sure if asked, they'd tell us all to go to hell. So when you come in here and tell your blatant LIES, that the west is not oomplicit and never supported those governments, it's my priviledge to point that out. -

The west has a conveniently short memory. Fortunately I and some others, do not. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41767365/ns/world_news-mideastn_africa/ http://msnbcmedia4.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Photo/_new/g-cvr-gadhafiObama-8p.grid-2x2.jpg -

Insults as entertainment. Some people would threaten to kill you for that.

Would the liberals win with LeBlanc as leader?
Sir Bandelot replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What we need is real leadership skill. Not just a pretty face. The pretty face sells, to a certain mind-numbed population but then what we have is a leader who is only a public face, while someone else is actually directing the country. In fascism, there is the cult of personality. The nice smiling face that consoles us and tells us how everything is going according to plan, things are improving. Meanwhile a powerful board of directors is the one that really calls the shots. In our case, big shot industry leaders, the wealthy, the elite. When will people stop looking the other way, while this keeps going on. I've seen it happenning all the time. Innocent people, screwed over, time snd time again. While those in the upper eschelon congratulate themselves for a job well done. It's because you people refuse to face what's really going on here. You refuse to accept that the plutocracy, exists. And we are all sheep baaa, baaa -

And yet that situation is also unfair, to places like Newfoundland -
Would the liberals win with LeBlanc as leader?
Sir Bandelot replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The question is a moot point now. They have made their beds, wit Ignatieff that is who they are stuck with. Changing leadership now is not on the table. I said it when Dion was heading out the door, LeBlanc should be their next choice but they went with their surprise man, pre-approved and moved up from the USA, as part of our democratic action could not have been picked in a worst way. -

I'm sorry but you are not right-wing enough. And most of those who are being nominated here, are Leftists. I'm sorry but when did this even become a vote? Did someone ask for a vote? No, but the latte sipping leftists have taken over the thread, nominating their supportors in order to consolidate power. Example we all know that Michael Hardner is a liberal and, a leftist.

Real Canadians actually play the game, not watch. That which you see is only entertainment, complete with the staged fisticuffs, that privately pay big dividends. Real Canadians are out there playing hockey, not watching. We know that is lal bullsit for sales to the masses. And we like old, re-heated coffee, murky stuff served in dark coffeeshops, with rotten floorboards... Old school ways, when men were men. Not yer "Tim Hortons" con-gloperated, latte sippers. Food, that's made by real human beings...The rest is merely byproducts of generation "disturbed."

From what I have determined, the "riots" in Egypt have not really stopped. They are now being renamed to "Union and Labour protests", evoking socialist and communiest takeovers. Complainers. They now threaten to destabilize the system, and harm the economy which the army is prepared to protect.

I have absolutely no allegiances to anyone here. No one likes me, an I don't like them. Therefore I am the best choice for a facilitator, really. If accepted, I would like to change my user name. Something like, "The Masked Avenger".

How about me, I try to be unbiased and a-political. I do not even vote. I hate them all equally. So, think that I would be a good candidate, to help clean up this one-horse town. By the way, at what is the rate of compensation?
