I don't know why they do it. But it is happening. Example: everyone knew Don Newman was a liberal shill when he hosted his program. Read his articles at cbc.ca since he retired. Realize how many of them are anti-Conservative.

Why are you labeling this station biased before it's even up and running? Who at the CTV has a conservative bias? Everyone blasts Fox News for being biased. During the presidential election, did you happen to catch any news from CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC? They were Obama cheerleaders without the pom poms. That made me realize how supposedly unbiased news outlets try their hardest to influence public opinion. Do you realize how biased the New York Times is? Anyone who thinks the Globe and Mail is fair to conservatives has no clue what is really going on. I like to hear both sides. However, I hear one side more than the other. That's why this station will be welcome to many canadians.

The problem is that you don't realize that journalism should be unbiased, unless it is an opinion show. I like to hear 2 or 3 points of view. I saw the interview on QP with Levant and that other guy. Oliver was trying to nail Levant any way he could. He gave the other guy softball questions. What show were you watching? Andrew Coyne has criticized Harper often on the At Issue panel. Jim Travers is as one-sided as a journalist can get.

CTV and CBC are very Liberal. The problem is my tax dollars fund the CBC. They should at least try to hide their bias. Who on the CBC gives a Conservative viewpoint? Rex Murphy maybe...but he gives it to Harper and the CPC as much as he does Ignatieff and the LPC? Would you say Jane Taber and Craig Oliver are fair?

I have to laugh at all the lefties on here who are so concerned that a TV station that is possibly different from the biased MSM, may launch. You guys are grasping for straws, just like the LPC. This station is going to happen whether you like it or not. Liberals don't like opposing viewpoints to be heard. Liberals preach tolerance but are the most intolerant when someone doesn't think the way they like. TolerantLiberal is an oxymoron. The LPC demanded Stephen Harper fire Helena Guergis. After Harper kicks her out, the Liberals claim Harper was too"mean". It's this kind of flip flopping that causes people to lose respect for the LPC.

People going to university are likely to be more liberal because of the constant barrage of left wing ideology being preached by lefty professors. Once students complete university they become more conservative because they realize they were being used by these professors who claim socialism is the way to go. University students are amongst the most gullible. They subscribe to the trendy flavour of the day.

This channel is much needed. Anyone who doesn't think the CBC is the media arm of the Liberal party is out to lunch. As for CTV...just listen to Craig Oliver, Jane Taber, Bob Fife, Tom Clark on a regualr basis and you will realize who they support. As for Fox News. they are more fair than the average lefty will have you think. They report many newsworthy stories that the other networks won't touch. Fox News is necessary in the USA, and something similar is greatly needed in Canada to counter the liberal spin of the CBC and CTV. They likely will back down. However, it is interesting to know the mindset of the OTF. This incident has revealed what they are truly about. They are bullies, thugs, goons....whatever else.

This is about the teachers' union, not individual teachers. There are many teachers I respect. there are many I do not. Not all teachers support their union. They are just forced to pay their dues and not cause a disturbance.

You are 100% correct. The OTF telling schools not take practice teachers from Nipissing is ludicrous. This should be a major story with all major media in this country. Thanks to the National post for giving it some coverage. I hope all teachers realize what the OTF is all about. Pay your union dues and do what we tell you, and think how e tell you or else. teachers unions are a scourge to education throughout Canada. they could care less about educating children.
