buddy, if you're going to start a nothing thread and attempt to support it up with empty posts, it's only right you close out with a whimper... ah yes... the last vestige of the climate change denying vanquished... invoking Pliny's Pope! really, c'mon... if all you wanted to do was offer up a book recommendation, surely you didn't need to start a thread - hey? One would have thought you might actually have something concrete, something specific, to discuss. Apparently... not. Waldo, you haven't offered any worthwhile comments to this thread. What is your impression of Al Gore? Please answer this simple question. Is it worth paying him 150k to tell us how to live our lives while he flies around the globe in a private jet, being transported to speaking engagements in limousines or those evil gas-guzzling SUVs? Give an opinion for once instead of relying on someone else.
-
Have you been in a public school lately, waldo? I'll guess the answer is no. Al Gore must love guys like you.
-
Personal experiences don't require citations.

You're absolutely right in the fact that it is hard to know who to trust. I have a serious problem with young kids being indoctrinated with green-activism in public school classrooms. Seriously, there are teachers who tell 7 year olds that if we don't change our ways, the earth will be destroyed in 10 years. This is just one example of how the greens are pushing their agenda. "No matter if the science of global warming is all phony... climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world." - Christine Stewart, former Liberal Canadian Minister of the Environment

The media constantly harps on citizens the evils of "big-oil". However, "big-green" outfits stand to profit billions at the expense of the average citizen. Waldo, you can go through life with your head in the sand, but I am tired of millionaires/billionaires like Al Gore telling me I have to downscale my modest living to save the earth, while guys like him, Richard Branson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and many other jet-setting hypocrites live a life of luxury while polluting the earth at much faster rate than average folks. "We've got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy." - Timothy Wirth, President of the UN Foundation

Tories want a review of affirmative action hiring policies. Interesting. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/tories-look-to-scrap-affirmative-action-in-federal-hiring/article1648642/

I never mentioned New World Order in any of my posts. Is the Club of Rome a make - believe entity? Some of the quotes from members of that group are downright scary. The Green Agenda started in the 70's. Waldo, you can't properly critique, like you have, a book without reading it. "We need to get some broad based support, to capture the public's imagination... So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts... Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest." - Prof. Stephen Schneider, Stanford Professor of Climatology, lead author of many IPCC reports

You're out to lunch if you don't believe there is a green ec0-agenda. look at how the Rainforest Action Network targets and brainwashes children to believe that the Earth is dying. RAN accomplishes this through teachers who are members of their organization. School kids are never taught that there are two sides to this debate. You do believe there are two sides to the climate debate, don't you waldo? "The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself." Club of Rome, premier environmental think-tank, consultants to the United Nations

What did Milloy write in the book that I mentioned, do you disagree with so much? Please don't refer to some book review. Please read the book for yourself and form your own opinion.
-
So I see you haven't formed your OWN opinion of Milloy as you are just going by what you read by some eco-activist who is upset at Milloy for exposing the green agenda for what it really is.
-
Read your links waldo. Is source watch like wikipedia where anyone can write anything. The greens hate Milloy because he exposes their doubletalk.
-
When a person exposes the greens for what they really are, then they're bound to be the victim of gutter sniping. Greens complain about big-oil, however the greens are out to make big bucks at the expense of the average citizen.
-
The book "Green Hell" by Steven Milloy does a great job of explaining the goal of green activists. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know what is really happening with all this eco-propaganda we are continually fed.

630 billion debt? Why, why, why?
lukin replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Exactly right Wild Bill. The opposition forced the Conservatives to spend. People who believe everything they see on CBC make similar statements as Ashley did. -
I wonder how many sawed-off shotguns are registered? the gun registry forces cops to harass honest citizens.
-
Yeah, one more tool that costs a lot of money and does nothing to reduce crime.
-
This is exactly right, thus explaining why the registry was, is, and will continue to be a huge waste of money if Liberals and NDP members allow it to be. Criminals do not register firearms; especially the sawed-off variety.
-
The CPC have tried, but it's the opposition parties that don't want to end the registry. It is, after all, a minority parliament. getting rid of the registry is a good idea, and will save canadians money, yet the opposition think otherwise. Do you know how parliament works, Molly?
-
These quotes by high-ranking liberal members should be of great concern to Canadians.
-
Actually Topaz, many police officers are against the registry, and see it as a useless tool. police chiefs, such as the one in Toronto would would rather spend money on the registry instead of adding more officers to the force. The police officers in my community are against the registry. Here are some interesting comments from high ranking liberals with reference to the gun registry. "I came to Ottawa ... with the firm belief that the only people in this country who should have guns are police officers and soldiers." — Liberal minister of justice Allan Rock, 1994. 2. "C-68 has little to do with gun control or crime control, but it is the first step necessary to begin the social re-engineering of Canada. "— Liberal senator Sharon Carstairs, 1996. 3. "Canada will be one of the first unarmed countries in the world."— Liberal foreign affairs minister Lloyd Axworthy, 1998. 4. "Disarming the Canadian public is part of the new humanitarian social agenda." — Liberal foreign affairs minister Lloyd Axworthy at a gun control conference, Oslo, Norway, 1998.

What do you think he is. He tries his hardest to nail conservatives. Pay attention smallc, it'll do you a world of good.
-
I've been doing some research on the long-gun registry. The Liberals claim that the long gun registry gets hit 9 to 11 thousand times a day. I found this to be a fact. However, if I get pulled over for a routine traffic stop, the police officer will enter my info and the long gun registry will get a hit. That is a fact. It's amazing to me how liberals, and the media don't report the latter fact. Tom Clark, the biased liberal host of Power Play didn't seek the truth when he tried to make the CPC look follish for bill C- 391.

http://www.nationalpost.com/news/judge+sets+precedent+abuse+case/3284047/story.html I can't believe this creep gets a 2 and a half year sentence for destroying the life of an innocent child. This judge is setting a precedent with this unusually "stiff" sentence. Who is responsible for letting pedophiles walk away after 18 months? Why isn't the public in an outrage over this?

This is not a story that no one cares about. People have the right to know what is behind this story. Too bad the MSM is trying to cover it up. http://bigjournalism.com/bparks/2010/07/08/another-story-the-msm-doesnt-want-you-to-know-about-never-bring-another-lawsuit-against-a-black/ -
