  1. Maybe schools need to promote strong families as the key to a better society. "Educators may constantly bemoan teenage pregnancy and the frequency of illegitimate children, but their textbooks begin fostering the notion of family without marriage in grades 1 to 4. Paul Vitz Many problems we have today is due to the far-left liberal social engineering that has happened over the last several decades. The liberal mantra of "if it feels good, do it" has done a lot of damage to society.
  2. Abstinence programs do work. http://www.freeteensusa.org/IRE_AbstinVsComprehe_1A102B.pdf
  3. People like wyly resort to name-calling when someone disagrees with him. His type is the most intolerant.
  4. How can you accurately determine marijuana use rates in Holland compared to USA? You obviously haven't been to Holland. I spent a month there last summer. It's not the liberal utopia you think it is. Stats have nothing over actual experience. Keep surfing the net for stats that you deem to be correct wyly.
  5. Look, it happened. Let's just say it's happened more frequently in the last 4 years. I thought it was only the kids who didn't receive sex-ed who were prone to getting pregnant, however, I've seen teens who had taken sex-ed become pregnant. How can that possibly be. Mike, are you saying that most kids who DO NOT take sex -ed will end up becoming pregnant or acquiring an STI?
  6. Excellent post pliny. Sweden is a mess. The Netherlands isn't the great country that wyly would have all believe. Rampant drug use is a major problem in Holland. Maybe Holland's teens are putting off sex because they are too stoned to know what to do.
  7. It is true Mike. I saw it. I don't need fabricated stats to prove a point.
  8. Do you, or wyly, or toadbrother have the statistics to back up your claim?
  9. Abstinence programs have worked for a lot of people. People who learn to abstain have nothing to worry about.
  10. Are you telling me that kids who don't receive explicit sex-ed in schools are more prone to getting pregnant or a disease compared to those who know the inas and outs of anal and oral sex by age 12? Do you think parents should be able to opt their children out of sex-ed?
  11. Spin it any which way you can. Your disciples are riddled with metaphor.
  12. Here's some research for you. You'll probably discredit it because it doesn't agree with your slanted POV. http://www.greenvilleonline.com/article/20100326/OPINION/303260010/Julie-Hershey-Research-proves-that-abstinence-programs-work
  13. My answer to your fair question is this: During my university years, I was a staunch liberal. Global warming is a huge issue. I once believed humans were the main cause. After extensive reading, my views on that subject have changed.
  14. Are you concerned about the bullying a Christian child receives after she privately says grace before lunch? Does she deserve the ridicule?
  15. You are so intolerant that you get angered by anyone who doesn't share your point of view. It's called ignorance.
  16. I taught kids to do their own research using multiple sources. I taught kids not to believe everything they hear in the news. I taught kids to think critically, and to realize there is always two sides, and that a concentrated effort by media can keep the other side silent. Wyly, you are very good at directing insults at those who disagree with you. I find it childish.
  17. Actually, today McGuinty backed down on this controversial sex-ed curriculum. Good job to the tax-payers who fund public education for speaking up against this curriculum.
  18. You don't know how things work. It's people in the government with agendas who tell teachers what to do.
  19. You seem upset that I want my kids to learn to read and write. Shame on me for wanting what's best for my kids. Your comment of me coming on here brandishing my "prejudices" is exactly what I have come to expect from a liberal like you. You preach tolerance until someone disagrees with you. That game is getting old. YOUR way isn't everyone's way. Thank goodness.
  20. Smallc, i have no problem with kids learning human anatomy, as I mentioned in an earlier post. I have a problem with kids learning about anal and oral sex, among other sensitive topics. Would you be OK if a teacher told your 12 year old that anal sex is Ok if you use a condom?
  21. No, they are supposed to teach my kids to read, write, do math, and have basic knowledge of the world.
  22. Good post. Public schools are becoming more of a joke every year. I wish more parents would wake up and realize that learning how to read, write is not a priority in public schools. Teaching kids sex-ed, and that humans are killing polar bears by driving their vehicles has taken over.
  23. I witnessed it first hand. More sex ed, more teen pregnancies. What have you witnessed?
  24. You or some teacher has no right to tell me when my kids need sex-ed. In the school I was at, we had more teenage pregnancies after extensive sex education than before. I don't need some stats from some liberal rag to tell me what rates are around the world. I saw firsthand the effects of sex-ed in a school. Have you had that experience? Research will prove only what the researcher wants to be proved, or what they are paid to prove. I learned a long time ago that statistics are always skewed. Maybe someday you'll realize that, instead of believing everything you read.
  25. There are a lot of good teachers out there, but there are also plenty who I do not want anywhere near my kid, let alone pushing their views on sex-ed. Too many teachers could care less if a student can read, write, or perform basic math. Too many teachers are interested in pushing their ideologies on students. As someone who worked for 18 years in public schools, I can honestly say I have little faith in them. I do not want these people pushing their liberalized sexual views on my kids.
