Oh give it up already, Bev lost her nomination because the membership didn't like the way she voted. The Party had nothing to do with it. Bev doesn't even claim that she voted against gay marriage because the people wanted her to, she says it was due to her religious convictions. The people in the riding chose another candidate over her , and even Bev admits it was because people were unhappy with her for voting like a bigoted Conservative candidate would.

G8 and G20 summit security $ 1.3 Billion costs a bargain
DrGreenthumb replied to Rick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The list of Conservative gov't waste is long, but one of the most ridiculous items was 14,000 dollars on "glow sticks" These things add up, and Canada is not in a position to waste money on stupid shit like that. -
Strippers, escorts should be added to job bank: Ottawa

Maybe your wife doesn't want to have sex with you because you are a misogynistic jerk? Maybe it became obvious to her that the only time you paid any attention to her was when you wanted her to service you sexually and didn't appreciate being treated like a whore? Or it could be that she just got tired of your tiny little penis? -
Canadian Seat on U.N. Security Council
DrGreenthumb replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What I find funny is Conservatives bashing the muslim countries for being theocratic states or religious fundamentalists, when that is exactlty the vision the HarperCons have for Canada the only difference being that they want a different name-brand of religious fundamentalism. Read The Armageddon Factor. Lots of these nuts including many CPC MP's are rapturists who believe that returning all the jews to their biblical homeland will help to fullfill biblical prophecy and hasten the "end-times". They are not concerned about the suffering of humanity in general because their "true believers " will be whisked away to heaven before the suffering begins. The Conservatives and their religious right nutjob followers want to make Canada a "Christian state" with a biblicly inpired set of laws. -
I'm not a Liberal, but I see them as a lot less threatening and authoritarian than the religious whack-job infested Conservative party. I'm more of a social libertarian actually, and anyone who promotes the states right to tell me how to enjoy my life can get bent.

Why does it not surprise me that a Harper supporter is a prohibitionist? Gotta stop those sinners eh?

No right to lawyer during questioning, says top court
DrGreenthumb replied to msdogfood's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
LOL this is the first time I've read good advice from you MR.C. Any good lawyer will advise you to only say 2 words to every question the cops ask you. I'll give everyone those two words free of charge. They are "NO COMMENT". -
Public Service Bloats...
DrGreenthumb replied to Michael Hardner's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't know why so many people find this hard to understand. It's the same BS that the Conservatives tried to sell us on MTS. Somehow the service was supposed to get better and our phone bills lower, all the while increasing the profit for the private shareholders. What a joke. Since MTS got privatized the reality is higher phone bills crappy service, and increased wealth for the already wealthy. Meanwhile lots of people can't even afford a phone at all anymore. Hard to get a job when you don't even have a phone number to put on your resume. -
Conservative War On Science

So why do you support an authoritarian douchebag Prime Minister who thinks it IS his business what I buy smoke or grow? How does your right to have guns have any more validity than my right to have a plant? -

I dunno Wyatt, maybe natural selection? Lots of the gun totin meatheads who think walkin around with a pistol and a 10 gallon hat is cool have already killed each other off? -
Running two parallel systems has got to be way more expensive than only running one. We would also be better off not funding fake education based on weird superstitions.

We are the thousands of Canadians who get drunk and go to bars and get in fistfights that as of now rarely turn into gunfights. You get a bunch of yahoos running around in public packing heat, people are going to get killed. This is not the wild west, even though you wish it was. I'm fine with hangun ownership, but they should be kept at home. Too easy for a simple incident of road rage escalate into a murder when people, are feeling overconfidant because they have a gun to back up their mouth. Teenage boys especially would end up getting shot over bullshit drama a lot more than they do already. -

And how much did Harper spend on one weekend for the G20 again? -
No religious school should be funded by taxpayers at all. The voucher idea is stupid, and I hope that never happens. This would only further spread the ignorance that is taught at fundamentalist religious schools. There are enough 6000 year old earth rapturists in the west already. I'd rather that the state not fund "education" like that. Any religious school funding is a direct drain on the already overtaxed public school budgets. The money we could save on not funding religious schools could probably properly fund free university courses for any Canadian who wanted to further their eduction. Put the money into the real eductaion system.

yeah we would all be sooo much safer if there were just more guns floatin around. ....and Steve Harper is a Libertarian, pffft -
No they are not, I swear you Cons are more paranoid than ounce a day pot smokers. The gun registry does not criminalize gun possession whatsoever. I hate the registry, but stop lying about it already, it just makes you sound retarded. Register your guns like I did, and shoot all the f$ckin ducks you want.

Canada’s prostitution laws unconstitutional, court rules
DrGreenthumb replied to Shwa's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
OOOh how original you changed my handle, nicely played "Anus." -
A friend of mine got a year of probation, 100 hours of community service, and a criminal record over 2 roaches a cop found in his hockey bag in the trunk of his car. He allowed the cop to search his car not even realizing the two old stale roaches were in there.

I'm much better at pool after 2 or 3 beers, but then again pool and golf don't really require fast reaction time. A little bit of relaxed nerves can be beneficial though.

And yet we keep electing socially regressive faith based government. How can Cabnadians seem so socially liberal yet keep ending up with such an anti-personal freedom government? -

I wouldn't want my daughters to choose that career path either, but neither do I want them washing dishes, or working at mcDonalds. If they choose to go down that path despite my concerns, I certainly do not want my government making it even more dangerous, and putting them at higher risk of coming to physical harm. -

No, that would be FORCING someone to do it which is entirely different. THAT would be pimping, hell that is almost third party rape. You can't coerce someone into giving sexual consent. -

DrGreenthumb replied to Shwa's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Force isn't the issue here, why shouldn't a woman,(or man ) be free to choose to accept cash payment for giving sexual pleasure? People already have sex for all kinds of reasons including thinking they will get something in retuin for it. Even marriage can be construed as prostitution at some level. What about the girl who goes home from the bar with a guy who she accepted 50 dollars worth of drinks from? It IS a prudish hangup. What about those who are forced to work hard manual labour because of a lack of options? They probably get paid way less for using their body for work than does a prostitute.
