I actually voted Reform when Manning was leader. A friend of mine even ran for the party. I liked the idea of how the members set the policy not the leadership. That's partly why I like the NDP. Well since Da Vinci's time most people have taken more enlightened views, that is except for the bible literalists who still believe in talking snakes, a 6000 year old world, and the rapture. I don't have to agree with the NDP on everything, their stance on civil liberties issues makes them the best fit currently for someone interested in personal freedom. I also like the senate contrary to NDP policy. I bet I could find other things I don't like about them too, I don't feel the need to defend EVERYTHING they do like most COn supporters I have met. They certainly have. They may not have introduced any bills to make homosexuality illegal, yet, but they certainly have devalued/damaged them by refusing to treat them as equal citizens of equal value, with equal rights. Oh please give me a break, there is no greater threat to the freedom of people than an increase in surveillance, cops and prisons. I'm not your everyday NDP either, I'm not that partisan, I've even voted Progressive Conservative , reform, and Liberal before. It is only Harper and his merry band of police state loving fundamentalist thugs that I so strongly oppose. I believe in property rights, and the right to own firearms for personal and home protection. I am not ready to trade off my freedoms, or those of my fellow Canadians for some false promise of greater security. I have never felt unsafe in any part of Canada ever, and we certainly do not need to start locking up thousands of our children to please Harper and his religious crusaders.

You support a Canadian being shipped off to a foriegn prison for a law you believe is "silly"? That pretty messed up. The DEA admitted in a press release that the arrest was meant to deal a blow to the legalization movement, and is therefore politically motivated which is supposed make extradition unavailable. He should be charged and tried by a jury of his peers, in his own country, not shipped off to a jurisdiction where the government prefers the harsher penalties. The last person convicted of selling pot seeds in Canada ended up with a 200 dollar fine. Shows how serious our courts see this "crime".
