  1. First harper says he will work with the Bloc. Then he accuses the NDP of being as bad as the Bloc Think about it.
  2. I just have a feeling that Quebeckers will sort out our political mess, as they seem to have much more political awareness than the ROC.
  3. What do people think about this Committee? It almost seems like a McCarthy era witch hunt. It as a totally politicised committee.
  4. Harper, with his vicious attacks on so many areas in Canada is going to marginalize the Conservatives.
  5. Harper has been involved in quite a few serious controversies. -from an editorial in todays Toronto Star. Now the NDP has been attacked by Stephen Harper as being as big a threat to Canada as the Quebec separatists. Now I know that the growing NDP fortunes, particularly in Western Canada, must be quite disappointing to the Conservatives. But maybe Stephen Harper is the loose canon that many people have accused him of being.
  6. The 3 pundits who discussed the poll were: patrick gossage norm spector rick anderson
  7. Basically What they said was is that the poll was unscientific, and people are putting their own expectations forward. We know that springer is a fanatical Harper supporter which is fine, but he does tend to get carried away on things, such as this. For example there was a Conservative party analyst on this week as well and he said quite categorically that NO ONE WILL WIN ON THE FIRST COUNT OF THE BALLOT.
  8. No wonder the Pope likes Canada.
  9. Lets see: Martin is Catholic Chretien is Catholic Mulroney is Catholic Turner is Catholic Trudeau was Catholic Maybe you have to be Catholic to be PM in Canada oops, forgot about Joe Clark - is he Catholic too? What about harper and Layton?
  10. In some ways, Liberal federalists are so desperate, they'll cling to anything. It may well work. But talk is cheap. Can Martin walk the talk? And imagine the arrogance of those Liberals if he pulls it off... Arrogance is a good word here. Liberals act like they do not have to earn the right to be elected. After the CPC leadersip convention this weekend, hopefully the polls will knock some of that Liberal arrogance out of them.
  11. PM Martin made a major speech in Quebec City today. Will this help to shore up support for the Liberals? In Quebec?
  12. The NDP are leading both federally and provincially in BC. That is quite a turnaround. Nothing like right wing corruption to focus the voters.
  13. All Canadian employees would benefit from being unionized. That should be Canada s goal. Where do you think all the labour benefits we currently enjoy in Canada came from? From unions of course.
  14. Socred, Liberal, Alliance, Reform, Conservative - whats the difference? None as far as I can tell.
  15. Actually they can. The NDP is also leading federally in the polls in BC. Nice try though.
  16. Under the right wing Campbell Liberals, BC just lost 36,000 jobs last month. Impressive.
  17. Jeffery Simpson, no NDP fan, mentions about the increasing NDP fortunes nationwide in his column today in the globe and Mail
  18. The rest of the provinces in Canada should adopt the BC car insurance model, advantages of having a NDP overnment.
  19. The Campbell Liberals are a misnomer. They are actually a mix of old Socreds, Conservatives, and Liberals. Just like the Bloc has surged in Quebec, partly to do with the Charest Liberals unpopularity, so go the increasing NDP fortunes in BC.
  20. Looking at the latest Ipsos-Reid polls showing the NDP leading the governing Campbell Liberals, I am going to have to revise my latest forecast federally for BC. BC forecast now: CPC 10 seats Lib 6 seats NDP 20 seats
  21. Sooner than you may think.- check latest Ipsos Reid poll in BC
  22. NDP ahead of Liberals for the first time since 1996 in BC. Carole James' New Democrats' surpass Liberals NDP 42% Lib 39% Grn 12%
  23. We have a great system in BC - ICBC
  24. Jack Layton and the NDP are on the front page of the Le Devoir newspaper: Le Devoir LES ACTUALITÉS, mardi 16 mars 2004, p. A1 Entrevue au Devoir Layton ne se fait pas d'illusions sur une percée au Québec «Je tends la main à ceux qui veulent créer une vraie alternative progressiste», dit le chef du NPD Lévesque, Kathleen Now in third place in Quebec, after the Bloc and Liberals, NDP may get some seats in Quebec.
  25. gilles Duceppe certainly has staying power.
