  1. Yeah, this election is really shaping up to be the biggest farce in American history. If McCain wins, he's probably going to die; being President happens to be highly stressful, and this guy is OLD and SICK. On the Democratic side of the equation, well, we got Mr. Black Power spewing bs about "change" and Ms. Clinton, who's only gotten where she is because of her cigar-wielding hubby Bill. Ain't she just the most DULL person imaginable? Oh well, America's in decline--what do you expect...
  2. Have you ever talked to anyone who's Muslim? I have on a number of occasions. Stop acting like they're sweet, innocent, altruistic and tolerant people. They aren't.
  3. Money, and because their own countries are stink-holes that have corrupt tyrannical governments; but it mostly has to do with money. They want jobs that pay well, the government wants their money to enter the Canadian economy so that there will always be "economic growth". Economic statistics is what motivates the government of this country; history, culture, traditions, arts, all that intrinsic stuff that can't be converted to a dollar figure has little or no meaning.
  4. You know, guyser, the previous estimate of "4 billion" has nothing to do with age, rather is the age of the oldest known rock... Whatever the case, regardless of how many billions of years old (LOL) people think the Earth is, it still doesn't disprove the existence of God or his creation of the Earth. Of course there are some idiots out there who think that all Christians subscribe to Bishop Ussher's fanciful calculation of 4004BC, even though the Bible do not state when the act of creation occurred. Personally, I don't concern myself with the issue because it has no relevance to the fact that God does exist. Try to remember that for the next time you falsely ascribe to me opinions that I don't hold.
  5. LOL. Yeah, yeah--whatever...
  6. Isn't that basically the logic that you and other anti-Christians here have been using? So in other words you're simply being a hypocrite. Go figure. LOL. There is probably an insignificant fraction of American society that can truly be considered "puritanical". There may be a certain group that could be considered "conservative" when it comes to sexuality, the majority could probably be considered liberal. America's "puritanical society" ended long ago, only the myth survives--thanks to people like you... LOL.
  7. I guess that's why the call-girl's popularity is on the rise, eh? LOL
  8. I don't need to clarify it at all because I've clearly stated my opinion. You are the one who likened Muslims to Italians, and then claimed that Italians got a bad rap because of some Italians being engaged in "organized crime". Islam, on the other hand, is something that ALL Muslims adhere to, to some degree; Islamic extremism is an extreme form of the Islamic faith, and the Islamic faith is something that ALL Muslims adhere to. Islamic extremism and "Italian organized crime" are NOT comparable; being an "Italian organized criminal" is not an extreme form of being a decent, hard-working Italian.
  9. The U.S. is a "puritanical society"???? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL His downfall has nothing to do with American society being "puritanical". LOL
  10. Honestly, you're argument is starting to get very tenuous. You seem to be grasping for anything in an effort to downplay the real issue at hand here. What's your agenda? Are you a Muslim by any chance?
  11. Oh, right, I guess that's why according to the third paragraph in the article:
  12. Oh, right, whatever. Yeah, this all has to do with my being "small-minded" rather than a legitimate concern for my country based on facts about Islam. So for fear of being labelled "ignorant" or a "bigot" I should just quietly accept the fact that the people who run this country have decided on an immigration policy that could possibly undermine the values that have made this country it has been up until now. Remember, we're talking about Islam, a religion, an ideology, and what effect that it will have on Canada. All one has to do is look at the effects that it has had on just about every other region that it has spread to. It's neither "foolish" nor "ignorant" to have legitimate concerns about what an ideology could do to a country's future stability. While we're on the subject, the fact that you'd raise the point that you're Italian and are pursuing the line of reasoning that you are is very, very interesting. It would seem to me that there is some credibility to the concerns of our forefathers seeing how the Vatican opperates, and one can understand these concerns considering what has become of Canada since Trudeau came to power. When was this?
  13. Wow, you're totally out to lunch on this one. You were a witness to this "crime" then, seeing that you're so certain about the criminality of her actions? The fact of the matter is that her criminality is not the issue, rather what the problem is is how members of the muslim community have decided deal with it in their own way. There's no way of justifiying what they are doing, but evidently you're willing to give it a go anyway. Makes me wonder what you are to lower yourself to that level.
  14. Actually, no, it doesn't "mirror" any fears about "Italian organized crime"--far from it. Islam and organized crime are two totally different things. Organized crime is something that exists on the fringes and is engaged in by a relatively small group of people. Islam, whatever its form, is something that all Muslims adhere to; how many Muslims are there in Canada, and can you honestly say that ALL of them are completely removed from any influence from the Muslim world and are redefining their belief system to suit secular Canadian society? No you can't. Oh, and by the way, if you think that "organized crime" has been effectively dealt with in Canada, you are sadly mistaken. If anything, Canada's failure to do so should make us all concerned for what's in store for Canada should the current immigration trend continue. I hate to say such things because I used to have all those fuzzy feeling about Canada being a multicultural society, too.
  15. Well, not everyone considers him a story teller, and unfortunately in some cases I've seen his "stories" revered as the gospel truth. I'll admit that his books are generally a good read, but of the books that I've read I've been inclined to think that they could have been better researched. He clearly had an agenda, and as is always the case, avoided the full truth when it got in the way. This being the case, and since his books have been widely read, this means that his story telling has been responsible for disseminating a somewhat skewed interpretation of Canadian history.
  16. Certainly there are better historians. Berton's books are good reads, but the ones I've read contain unacceptable factual errors.
  17. First off, learn how to write. Second, I don't think I've ever discussed my understand of what the Bible has to say about Creation, so how you can falsely claim that I somehow believe that Earth was created 6000 years ago is beyond me. Needless to say, you have graced this forum with yet another idiotic post. Well, if it gives you a purpose in life and makes your mommy proud, by all means keep 'em coming...
  18. No, I'm talking about this predicament that the woman is in based on everything that has been written about it. We're talking about how members of the muslim community have responded to the incident; what blame she has and what the police have or have not done about it is not the issue at all. This is about how members of the muslim community have apparently decided to take justice into their own hands by condemning her as a murderer simply because a member of their community died as a result of an unfortunate mishap which he precipitated, and now apparently they want to play executioner as well. Now, I don't know what cultural background you come from, but here in Canada and the rest of the western world this kind of nonsense is not condoned. Or perhaps you're suggesting that it should be for muslims???
  19. Actually, yes you can, and that's what's happening by allowing large numbers of Muslims into Canada. I don't disagree that some Muslims readily integrate and assimilate into Canadian society, but has is always the case when there is an influx of a large group of people into a country who have a common ideological background fundamentally different to that of the existing norm, Canadian society always has to deal with consequences in the long term. In my opinion, Canada is still marred by the immigration of large numbers of Americans and stridently socialist Eastern Europeans to the Prairie provinces. Islam will change Canadian society, particularly that of south-central Ontario, and it will not always be for the good; Islam has its own issues and you're naive to think that they will simply evaporate at the border. Sadly people like you fail to realize that Canada, despite its faults, does not have an inherently bad society that constantly needs to be revamped, that there are institutions and traditions that are worth preserving, and that the constant influx of people who hold fundamentally different ideological outlooks (this is NOT about race) can and has been detrimental to Canada as a whole.
  20. Yeah, I guess you don't read dutch, because from what I've read she's being actively pursued, starts getting phone calls when her new location was discovered, things of that nature.
  21. Um, no. If Muslims recognized Jesus for what he was, then they wouldn't be Muslims. Christ teaches about false prophecy, and that's what Islam is founded on. No different than Mormonism. I'm not sure exactly how one can deem such a factual assertion "raging intolerance"--the claim by Muslims that they revere Christ could be viewed as insulting by some Christians, but let's face it, the only "raging intolerance" that would occur in a debate between Christian(s) and (a) Muslim(s) over this issue would be from the Muslim(s).
  22. Who cares? The fact that she has to go into hiding and fears for her life because people from a certain "community" want to exact revenge rather than let the justice system work is kind of problematic in western society.
  23. Ohhhh... "tolerance"... I love how people like you bandy that word about and delude yourselves with the belief that you actually have a greater capacity for it than people who don't subscribe to your narrow ideological worldview... yet the second you actually have to deal with people who truly express their opinions, you start hurling secular fire and brimstone...
