  1. Actually, it's pretty gay and childish... There happen to be other boards here where you're more than free to start threads about your favourite peeves about PM's wives and such.
  2. Actually, that's what the Anglican church did when they broke away from the Catholic Church. The fact of the matter is, though, that a church should not be defined by the physical building that it occupies; from what I understand, the breakaway congregations don't care one way or another, although I'm sure that they'd prefer to keep the buildings that they are accustomed to worshipping in. The fact that Christianity is so heavily influenced by secular society even without the "gay marriage" issue is bad enough as it is. Who cares is "the times are a-changing" or what any other morally corrupt pop icon of the modern era thinks about social issues? Being a true follower of Christ is a serious issue, and the fact that an institution like the Anglican church is trying to coerce its followers (or being pressured by its parishoners) into evolving in an un-Christian manner is quite wrong.
  3. Actually, God sent Jesus to clarify this issue. God is the one true God because God is the only god out there, so it's not arrogance, rather simply a statement of fact. What God expects of us is outlined in the New Testament. So again, it's not arrogance, rather simply the reality of the situation.
  4. What are your opinions on Judaism?
  5. You really just don't get it, do you? Not interested in the numbers because that's not what's relevant to "superiority". But while we're on the topic, thanks for demonstrating why the Prairies are a colony and just how well they fulfill that role. Seperation is a non-issue, something that only a few hotheads really even consider a viable option. Nobody over here in Ontario really gives a hoot about that kind of rhetoric.
  6. The argument for NOT making Remembrance Day a holiday makes sense: people would just consider it another day-off. It's fine the way it is, but I think that the real problem that has to be addressed is how the world wars are dealt with in history classes.
  7. Your over-reacting a tad, dontcha think??? Superiority is determined by a number of things, such as political power, arts/culture, education... The fact that all you can think of is "the economy" really just supports my supposition that there isn't much to Alberta.
  8. So how exactly does "superiority" simply reflect economic performance? Whatever the case, Flaherty is a holdover from the Harris regime and whatever he says about the economy is tainted by the usual neocon delusions. Simply put, Ontario is the heart of Canada; the rest of Canada would be nothing if it wasn't for Ontario, and the West has always been and will always remain a mere colony of central Canada (Ontario).
  9. Ho-hum... Why do you always have to escalate things and try an offend people with anti-Canadian comments? Dion has nothing to do with this. All I wanted to know is what you were basing your opinions on.
  10. And you're basing this on what exactly?
  11. Common fallacy--it's interesting how often the "6 million" figure comes up, isn't it? The true number is open to debate, but the "6 million" figure is ascribed to the number of Jews who were liquidated (not just in death/concentration camps), and does not reflect the fact that a similar number of non-Jews may also have been eliminated. Whatever the case, if one wants to play the numbers game, then Stalin and the Soviets still were worse; but quantifying suffering is kind of lame.
  12. Actually, I think it would be fitting to rename our holiday to reflect our superiority over our colonies to the west...
  13. It never ceases to amaze me that people can make such a statement. Do you have any understanding of Canadian history whatsoever?
  14. Yeah, and died while in office leaving Truman to screw things up.
  15. So your more concerned with a woman's abstract "right" to do what she wants rather than the unborn child's concrete "right" to exist? As for a woman not being "coerced or forced into continuing a pregnancy she doesn't want"... in the vast majority of cases such situations could easily be avoided in the first place. But ultimately, if a woman felt that life was something sacred and to be valued, there would not be any need for coercion or forcing because the desire to carry out the pregnancy to full term would be the only logical choice.
  16. Obama's "Yes We Can" slogan speaks volumes about how simple-minded Americans and American politics has become. Unfortunately, Clinton is so dull that she can't think of anything catchy to say at all. All she does is trumpet the fact that she has "experience". Big deal. Looks like Obama's gonna get it after all--his wins are getting to be quite decisive.
  17. McCain would have been okay eight years ago, but the guy's too old and I think he has some health issues as well.
  18. This whining about how it will "cost" the economy is nonsense. When I was in Europe, stores were open from something like 7am to 3pm M-F, a couple hours on Saturday and closed on Sunday. Suggest such a thing here, and people would act like it's the end of the world, but in reality people adjust and the economy functions normally.
  19. Well, Canada happens to be a Christian country, and it only makes sense that our politicians would seek God's guidance in governing the people of this province. Of course many of the politicians reciting the Lord's Prayer are only paying it lip-service as you no doubt did way way back when, and I suppose it is no wonder then that politics is the way that it is nowadays. As I'm sure you're aware of, the God that Christians believe in is THE God, the one true God, and that praying to Him is NOT an "inappropriate imposition," rather is simply what God expects of us.
  20. Thanks for your input, Drea. As usual, your insight and ability to elucidate your deep-seated hatred and hostility towards Christianity has made realize just how fortunate I am.
  21. LOLOLOLOL
  22. Yet another attack against Christianity in this country is taking place in Ontario where Premier McGuinty is seeking to have the Lord's Prayer that is recited each morning before legislature commences replaced with something "more diverse". History, tradition, and faith seem to have little significance in Canada, although Ontario always seems to have managed to hold on for just a little longer--out flag still bears the Union Jack (how long will that be the case)--and I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise that this is now happening. It's interesting how keen Canadians are in respecting other people's traditions, and have no problem in accepting that other countries and cultures can stubbornly hold on to "archaic" institutions (we even spend billions of dollars traveling to these places to experience these hallmarks of intolerance). Canada has it's own culture and heritage: Canada is a Christian country, founded by Europeans, with institutions based on European models; there is no reason why people who come to this country--regardless of where they come from--can't function and participate in our society without our traditions being constantly trashed or revised. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...Story/National/
  23. Indians are certainly among the most racist people I can think of, if that's what you mean.
  24. Well, it's actually located in Austria, but I'll give you half a point because it's located near the border with Germany. However, the pronounciation of the name is a little different than its explative equivocal, which incidently is from the English language and not often used in German speaking countries; the German language has its own forms of the word, one of which is similar and may have been derived from its English language counterpart. Let's not forget that this Austrian town has been around for quite some time with this name, too.
  25. The truth of the matter is that the Green Party had to have formed the government 20 to 25 years ago and maintained power ever since in order to implement all of its policies; Canada at least would be in a position where it is not a significant contributor to the current environmental crisis.
