  1. Maybe its not simple enough for you to see the point I'm trying to make. Check the date on the article, it's not old news! Do you think you can just assert a lie and that's it. You pick it apppart and try to obscure my point. The point for you, oh simple one, is that this corrut and proven violent/terrorist leaning tendencies, community is being actively sought out by ALL our politicians. The point I was addressing is WHY all this coziness with a small but wealthy/poerful group? Power and money? Why not give us pot smokers a break? We are much stronger numbers wise, and have yet to rack up one killing directly related to violence caused by marijuana, compaired to the hundreds of murders through acts of terrorism and traditional wife murders, plus gang violence for control of drug empires. Are you a politician who wishes to distance HIS PARTY'S MISTAKES FROM THE FACT THEY OCCURRED?
  2. Does anyone really believ that this fleet of summer pop gun cruisers is anything but political posturing, mainly to Canadians? Yes we need something up there but this is only a token, on the cheap no less. Our country simply can't afford to arm itself in todays world with the population we have at the momment. This is necessary but it might not mean much in the long run. I wouldn't tie any hope to it.
  3. There is no doubt now, he's a criminal.
  4. Maybe Democracy isn't a good way to govern the human race? It always seems to devolve into something else when put into practice.
  5. how to cut down health care costs? Try to stay healthier as individuals?
  6. "Canadians who want to part of the USA do so in a most straightforward way...they move there." that works both ways, I assure you, so means nothing as a point of argument.
  7. Micheal is as appealing to me as Rush Bimbaugh. But for an person with little in the way of looks, the usual leg up for many in life, he sure is on a roll.
  8. I hope that I get to test this new crack in the law myself. The police leave me alone, though. For now I'll just roll another one.
  9. Hate breeds hate". What a profoundly trite observation. No wonder you don't understand what I'm saying, you have judged that insight as profoundly trite? This coming from someone who has nothing original, trite or otherwise, to offer of themselves except criticism?
  10. "Bush won 2000 fair and square" Maybe, but he's been loosing ever since.......
  11. Alas, few of us operate on that impressive an intellectual level. I'd suggest you recruit Posit and Hollis and form a reading group, though. Someday you too might understand something simple, instead of being beddazzled by fuzzy spin.
  12. You always start with a denegrading remark as if my point of view were inferior to your one sided understanding because of something else. Nothing you say is without this denegration at some point. So its Islam and secularism? Islam is not a religion? You are devoid of comprehension and full of belief because for you any pointing at real history, they still have the records of the witches they burned and stolen wealth is still in the coffers of Rome, is coloured by what you are forced to see. I know you are a self righteous fundamentalist because of the judgemental way you approach my viewpoints, all verifiable with facts. You probably also believe in creationism and your evidence always boils down to one book. The last 2000 years nothing has been allowed to be added to it so how would you know of the events that have passed in that time
  13. If you follow the column up from the bottom to the title Left side Right side You will see my original(amateur) work on it. http://technocrat.net/d/2006/11/3/10052
  14. Are you all children out there? Why all this you said ,I said, you said, shit? Can no one add anything to topic here or are you all morons?
  15. Doesn't a hint of something not concrete lure you into searching it out? Isn't it curiosity that moved man's thinking forward through the ages A hint of something that is there but not fully revealed, a mystery to cause us to quest in all directions. People have tried to dress it up withreligious complexity, but something is there, perhaps in our genes that draws us to a dimension we can glimpse at times, but especially not when we are looking in that direction?
  16. But does nature include a spiritual aspect of wich we are only dimly aware? Is your definition of nature only what you currently behold? I've posted my link to my old website on my profile, because I'm such a cyber clutz I can't access it anymore. Would you believe that my son actually works at a high level job with Microsoft?
  17. Is there proof of something beyond our daily understanding independent of whether we wish to call it god or not? Does it really matter to nature what this species of Primates conjures up to explain it? What is the need, and where does it come from, to tie things up into neat theories. From creation to the unified field theory? People spend their whole lives desperately seeking answers for the sake of them. Is this curiousity what sets us appart from other species? And should anyone ever try to block its course because of their belief system? Should we let nature take its course or follow the tennets of Religion?
  18. So if I knew How to fly this cyber ship well enough, I could figure out how to set up a pole using a political question that would ferret out the participants inner political core. It would be an experiment into answering the question that has been taking up quite a bit of reflection and observation time for me since 1992. Do Humans Have A Political Gene? What do you think, are we born with our basic political filters or do we establish them due to concious effort, learned experiences? Do we look at the world, from birth, through a Political filter which colours all we see? Can a true Conservative ever be persuaded by a left argument, no matter how elegant? Is there not also a third subset of humans, those that are non political? How do you feel?
  19. There sure are some good spellers here, eh?
  20. The pole says to me that Canadians have a determination to remain independent in face of a feeling of the pessimism of a looming global conflict. By my way of thinking this is a great statetment about our optimism as a nation overall.
  21. That's right, why must it? Health care starts and ends for all practical purposes with the individual. It is primarily up to you to look after your own health care. Treatment of the ill is different than healthcare and can only be affordable for a society in which each individual does their duty to society by taking care of their own health to the best of their ability, first. Otherwise these slackers want to smoke, drink, and live the devil may care, but perfectly legal life, and ask me to pick up the tab Then they also blame me for my healthier habits because they are illegal
  22. (WTF?) What does that even mean? Conflict will occur because people find conflict alluring? -k I mean violent people are drawn to violence if they get a chance to observe it. Yeah, and that is violence breeds violence. How inane is it that two girls who had a violent conflict are now the focus of those who would enjoy their conflict vicasriously throught the world. Its almost as pernicious as child porn but perfectly legal.
  23. OK there is no clash going on today between Islam and Christianity. Ok we don't see any evidence of it here in the posts.
  24. Awesome post! Now we're back to it! I don't believe in God, but I pray. I see people praying with prayer wheels and expecting results. When the mania of the Pentecostal's full gospel gripped me, and I was in the throws of Holy Rolling as driven by the Holy spirit, my prayers were passionate communications of eager seeking and commitment, and heartfelt concern for those whom we prayed for. Today it is a calm reflection of greatfullness for any simple thing that comes my way and a moment to ponder at why I was so luckyu as to recieve it. The moment I see suffering or am made aware of it my heart leaps to their plight and I feel passionate empathy for them. When I heard of the dissappearance of Swiss Air flight 111 over peggy's cove, my marijuana laced mind took me to that screaming passener cabin and tears come to my eyes as I feel their terror, hear the last cries to their loved ones. That is prayer for me. When the news of our six young soldiers who recently died in Afghanistan came to me, I began to cry for the pain their loved ones would feel. I do believe that this is a valid form of prayer. Unspecifically focussed as to an entity, but a true feeling of empathy, compassion, forgiveness are all excercises in reaching to a higher level of understanding in one's spiritual center. As long as we continue to feel these things, then our spirit gets its excercise and we are rewarded with those qualities as they are practiced.
  25. And there was no motivation of the troops on both sides, invoking God? And there was no religious component to the genocide of 6 million Jews? And the Crusades didn't take place in the past as well as continuing until today? And the Inca civilization didn't disappear in the name of God? Their choice of execution method depended on whether they accepted Christ or not? And Christians didn't persecute niggers under the authority of white sheets and burning crosses? And you always come back to wishing to bully the messenger. Blindness is also a mark of religious believers!
