  1. His actions prove otherwise. Like how his bus is left idling for 90 min outside his speaking engagements. so you're saying that Dr. Suzuki ordered the bus company to leave the engine running?
  2. QUOTE(jdobbin @ May 8 2007, 09:07 PM) And this excuses money being spent now by the Tories with no paper trail? No, it does not. You know, jDob, I rarely agree with anything you post but certainly this is one instance where I praise you for hammering away at the Tories. I hate government waste and non-accountability. I do not care what party-affiliation is the root source anymore. well said. I totally agree.
  3. "There is a reason why marijuana is illegal - it is not good for you. I never had the opportunity to see the stuff much less smoke it, but maybe you can shed some light on the short-term memory loss you would have experienced. Contrary to thinking that marijuana acts as the perfect aphrodisiacs for your encounters, the only thing that gets screwed is your own head. There are numerous studies out to show that marijuana reduces testosterone and folks can become prone to erectile dysfunction. a waste don't you think" so basically you are just repeating what you may have read or heard somewhere? (I never had the opportunity to...). I can't say that I smoke too much of it anymore myself, but if you're going to make that statement, you should throw tobacco and booze in there as well. Also consider this: I wake up in the morning, get dressed, go to work at a downtown office (I take the subway), and when I get home after a long day, my nose and throat are coated in a blackish substance (pollutuion). What's going to kill me faster? If someone wants a joint to relax at the end of the day instead of a couple beers, that's fine with me. And I voted conservative last time out (head slapping motion)
  4. "I have no problem with a minister spending money on flights for business. I do have a problem if that information has to be searched for in a freedom of information access probe." Exactly!
  5. I'm not gay but I know a few gay and lesbian people and guess what? They are nice, intelligent, HARD WORKING people. For those here that are raising a big stink about the study, it seems to me that ALL political parties sponsor (with our tax dollars) seemingly un-needed research. Is this one un-needed? Who knows. Whether or not someone is gay or lesbian has NOTHING to do with me. It's NONE of my business. It has ZERO effect on my life. I have much better things to worry about than trying to deny human rights to a specific group of people. next topic please, WAY too much hate in here.
  6. I had the opportunity to live in London for 6 years ending 2001 and always thought Tony wasn't so bad a guy when he was compared to William Hague. I actually coached one his sons (Euan, I think) in ice hockey for a couple weeks at Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally to the natives.) Nice kid. After coming back home and seeing his (Blairs) reaction after 911, I have to say that he confuses the heck out of me now.
  7. If think you have to take seriously people who what to reduce the worlds population to a billion or less, and have to wonder just how they would carry it out. take control (globally) of the energy suppy, giving it to some, denighing it to others would be one way to reduce population. The second way is to control the food supply...Hypothetically speaking, of course. War is also a way to reduce population.
  8. Just when you thought the Liberals had hit the bottom of the barrel, here comes big Steve. This sure isn't my PC party. Far right neocons. Way to go Steve. Time for you to leave.
  9. Ya, and in a way it was (although I was serious about the effects to his health). I apologize and will not do it again. Thanks for the heads up.
  10. Sounds like Mr. Willis is about to become a truther like Rosie and Mr. Sheen. Can't wait to see O'Reillys response. I bet he "spotlights" Mr. Willis. That's what happens to people who should keep their mouths shout. They are only making our enemies stronger and causing attacks to take place here in the west when they say such negative things. Having said that, they all have a right their opinions. And for all I really know they may be on to something. Needs more investigation to put it to rest.
  11. I don't see much wrong with chartering an aircraft, as Quebec is a large province and flying is the fastest way to get from point a to point b. In the grand scheme of things 15oK isn't that large a figure (neither is the amount spent on PSHs' hairdresser. I need the party to stick with their election promise of being transparent in gov't dealings if I am to consider voting PC again. When you are not transparent, people think you have something to hide.
  12. MEOWWW! Sorry bro, do what you will. You only have yourself to blame when that heart attack comes knocking. BTW, my post was refering to almost ALL of your posts. You have an anger management problem.
  13. Argus, life is WAY too short to have the type of anger problem that you seem to have at the moment. And it does nothing to further the cause (or confidence) of those of us who are only slightly to the right of center. Lose the anger and understand that EVERYBODY has a right to an opinion. I bet you'll be a much happier person if you can let go of the hate. Peace, bro.
  14. I might not agree with all the things I've seen poly post, but please respond with an arguement instead of an ad hominen attack. Thanks
  15. I have to agree with Dancer, you should have a "neither" category, even if you don't believe it to be a rational view. Democracy and all....
  16. Canadian companies are very active in the US defense industry. US war making makes Canada a lot of cash. http://www.gdcanada.com/ (One of the biggest... 6th... in the world) http://www.bombardier.com/ http://www.spar.ca/customers.htm http://www.ccc.ca/eng/home.cfm (Canada's Haliburton) http://www.jacobs.com/markets/index.asp?ma...20and%20Defense Or how about all the Liberals that sit or have sat on the Carlyle Group's (you surely remember this from Farenheit 911 as Bush's war company?) Board of Directors: Paul Desmarais Laurent Beaudoin Frank McKenna Allan Gotlieb (US ambassador from Canada 1981-89) And to be fair, a big shot Conservative too, Peter Lougheed. As you can clearly tell, the big shots in Canada's power circles (mostly on the Liberal side through Power Corp.) are completely in bed with US defense interests. Canada is a major beneficiary from war and we are a major defense contractor. Also interesting to see that the Liberal moneybags are far more interwoven with the Bush's and US defense than the CPC backers could ever hope to be. good post. Unfortunately, it's probably only a matter of time until the CPC catches up. And I say this as a conservative voter in the last election. Transparency PLEASE Mr. Harper. Keep your word and get your majority.
  17. QUOTE(betsy @ May 4 2007, 10:11 AM) "Wasn't it in Afghanistan (under the Taliban regime) that Bin Laden took refuge after 9/11? My views perhaps are too simplistic....but analysts and strategists have their reasons why it is important to have democracy established in the region." hi Betsy. Not to get into a Poly type debate, but the FBI are not looking for OBL in relation to the 911 attacks (insufficient evidence) and George W Bush has publicly said that he's no longer concerned with finding him, so why do you bring OBL up? For me it's as simple as this in relation to torture. We as Canadians must take the moral high ground which means that we not only prohibit torture, but we try to disuade others as well. We do not want to stoop to the level of the people we are fighting against.
