You know what i'm talking about. These people who claim Obama is just about grandiose general ideas & he doesn't have any concrete plans or answers to the tough problems. To these people, i say stop just watching his victory speeches (which seem more to just rally the troops) & sound-bites. If they actually watched a full debate or two, or did any research into his policies, they'd discover that yes he does actually have detailed policies and stances on all of the issues, just as Clinton & McCain do. I can't stand these people who just watch NBC news or some clips on Youtube & think they know a candidate. Worse are the politicians (ahem Hillary) who know his positions, and yet still attack him based on this popular myth simply for political gain.

What went wrong for Hillary Clinton?
Moonlight Graham replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Hillary is a crappy speaker. She comes across as insincere. But in any other year she could have easily overcome that. The main thing is that Obama is just better. He's the most exciting Presidential hopeful to come along in decades. He is Hillary with more credibility & vision and less foul stench of Washington & lobbyists. -

Foreign Nationalists in Canada: Please Leave
Moonlight Graham replied to kengs333's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You raise a good point. How deep is the loyalty of some Canadian immigrants in this country? You should be required to spend more years residing in Canada before being able to become a citizen. And dual-citizenship? GET RID OF IT!!!! Choose a country and your loyalty and be done with it. If you want all the rights and priviliages of being a citizen of Canada, it should earned and not given away. That should go for every other country as well. You only need to to reside in Canada for 3 years to be eligible for citizenship. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? -
Obama Caught Plagiarizing
Moonlight Graham replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Plagarism? Not sure. But Obama totally ripped off that guys' speech. The question is, did Obama do or did his team or speech writers do it without Obama himself knowing the original speech? In the grand scheme of things means little . Its petty. -

this doesn't help very much. I'm sure all of these sources are scholarly ones right? Especially the books published by "Adventures Unlimited Press"? I've had many friends who wanted to go to Adventures Unlimited University for a law degree. -
Barack Hussein Obama
Moonlight Graham replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
John Edwards is wishy-washy. He doesn't have a hard, concrete vision IMO, or strong leadership. He has too many "uhh i'm not sure" moments. During debates he would admit being wrong on his vote to authorize the Iraq war. How stupid. He wasn't wrong. The Bush admin lied to Congress & the public about everything, including in the NIE. And if he really was wrong, that's a pretty HUGE mistake. When Obama says something about policy, he says it with a lot of conviction, and he can argue it well. See the last Clinton vs Obama debate on CNN right before Super Tuesday. His victory speeches & the "Yes We Can" stuff is just to rally the troops. I just hope he is as real as he seems. Which history says is very unlikely. -

Ya, thats the most scandalous thing he's done with another woman? Quickly leave a stag party after a stripper arrives? He looks like Jesus Christ next to JFK or Clinton. -

A N.A. union coin would never have a big eagle on it like that. Same as it wouldn't have a beaver playing hockey on it either. -

Barack Hussein Obama

Ahahaa. You bring up some interesting info about Obama in this thread, but i think your conclusions are mostly severe paranoia blown way out of proportion. C'mon man. First you say they're problems because of his church. Then problems because he's (apparently) a Mulslim. You say Obama's father being born Muslim makes Obama a Muslim will cause problems if he is President. What problems? If Obama is traveling to Saudi Arabia is their gov't going to chop off his hands or kill him for not practicing Islam? It doesn't really matter, because we will all find out the truth when the inevevitable smear campaigns come out in full force if Obama is nominated the Democratic candidate -

Interesting film. Poor production quality. I watched the first 30 minutes or so, and skimmed through the rest (may finish the film later). I was fascinated with the mirrors between Christianity and astrology, and wiki'd some of the reference made in the film. A lot of the similarities between Christiantiy and pre-jesus deities i couldn't find on wiki, but some of the stuff checks out. Will have to do more google'ing. Then the flick went all wacko into 20th wars, Bush v Hitler etc. The movie said both Hitler and Bush Jr. said the following statements: The film claims Hitler said it when announcing the Gestapo to the German people. It doesn't give a source when/where Bush said the quote. In fact i COULD NOT find anywhere on google where Bush Jr. said the above quote. If anyone can, please post it. The closest i could find was Bush saying this during the 2002 State of the Union: After this discovery, im not putting too much faith into the accuracy of this this film. -
The hand you say we have tied behind our backs is that of human rights and moral consciousness. To stoop to their levels & partake in the very acts we are trying to prevent from happening would be a major defeat in itself. And there is a fine line between protecting our liberties and giving them up for the sake of protecting them. Having the U.S. gov't wiretap anyone without warrant is unconstitutional, according to the Bill of Rights:

Gitmo lawyers back Obama
Moonlight Graham replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Lawyers are offering to represent detainees at GB for free? I didn't know lawyers could actually do something noble. -
Obama wins, i hope. Hillary and him have similar views on many issues, but his record on Iraq, his foreign policy views, and his push to get lobbyist pressures out of U.S. policy is refreshing. Hillary is a big change from Bush, but Obama is a big change from many of the negative things coming from the White House over the last 40+ years. Hillary and Bill are just too hob-knobby with the usual elite mucky-mucks for my taste. Obama isn't perfect, he's still a politician & chooses his words very carefully, but he's the best price of turd left in the tiolet at this point. Republicans don't have a prayer. Listening to McCain's speech today at the CPAC, he sounds so much like Bush. Stay in Iraq! Defeat the terrorists! Keep the Bush tax-cuts! Gimme a break, the republicans are screwed. If the Dems, or heck even Nader, don't win this fall, the world is doomed.

President John McCain
Moonlight Graham replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'm not keep on the Republicans (or Democrats for that matter), but if i had to pick a Republican McCain would be at or near the top of my list. I disagree with him on many issues since my thinking tends to be more liberal, but i still respect him. And we all know the Republicans are shiny gold in the eyes of Americans right now right? -

This question makes absolutely no sense. Being "black" is having to do with one's race, and being "Muslim" (a follower of Islam) is having to do with one's religion. Even if Obama was a Muslim, he'd still be black (or part black technically i guess). Overall i don't see this being much of a problem even if what you're saying were true. It would probably just give islamic extremists another excuse for hating America. Being black and having muslim roots could even endear himself to many in the middle-east compared to having another rich old white dude in the White House. At least he's not Jewish. Now THAT would cause some problems. -
We are certainly at risk because the the RCMP already broke up a terror plot & training camp a couple of years ago near Toronto. As for the world's perceptions of Canada & the U.S. in Afghanistan, old habits die hard.

Unfortunately you are oh so correct. But not if Obama gets in. He's the man for "change"! AHAHAHAhaahahaa
