  1. edit: wrong thread...
  2. Kinda has a point, at least in Canada, doesn't he?
  3. Somewhat indifferent about Jobs' death. I was never an Apple guy, in fact i've never purchased any Apple product in my life. Not because I have anything against the man or company, other than the fact that I found Apple products very overpriced compared to the competitors. I have free Quicktime software on my PC because I need it to run some things, and I use iTunes to organize my mp3's, though I've never bought anything from the service. I admire modern Apple products for their sleek and well-constructed & functional design. I just personally found better options for me out there (especially PC's with their better options and price). I was also never one to jump on the ie: tablet bandwagon just because it had an Apple logo on it. Jobs' was a fine CEO obviously. Jobs and Layton's death are kind of similar for me, I was never a big supporter of theirs but had some respect for them nonetheless. Well, a bit apples and oranges, plus a lot of people are jailbreaking their iphones/ipads etc. or opting for Android phones for the freedom and customization.
  4. There is a little more ignorant than putting ideology before facts and stats. Maybe the CPC MP's should all go see the movie 'Moneyball'?
  5. Some underdeveloped countries, such as the "Asian Tigers", have shown solid growth in GDP per capita, but mainly the tiny ones (Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong etc.) that seem to compare to Western countries in that stat. Are workers in countries like China and India really "catching up" that much? Both countries have high GDP totals, but their populations are also massive, so their GDP-per-capita is still very low, not even close to OECD countries. Can the average worker in China or India or even Mexico or Brazil afford to buy an Ipad?
  6. Agreed we don't know about is marriage or ability to "love". Yes, you can trick psychiatric professionals with answers to questions, written tests, Rorschach tests etc. But his actions we have seen or many others have reported on speak for themselves. My unprofessional diagnosis: he's a massive jerk.
  7. If you read the OP, "Americans" is defined as a single US blog writer and some of her readers. Very scientific. & accurate.
  8. Oleg's gotta eat, yo.
  9. Lol hey no problem, maybe you, me, and my mom can hang out some time?
  10. He's visiting Canada and... Oh and he's an untried criminal.
  11. According to that he doesn't seem to match on the "Socially deviant lifestyle" factors, but is hits the "Aggressive narcissism" out of the ballpark.
  12. Well, he didn't have to do it. And in this day and age is all relative according to culture, right? For a Saudi King he's been acting quite progressively lately towards women's rights. He deserves our encouragement IMO. Then again, I don't know what else he's been up to this month.
  13. Well, lets just say neither of those modes of transpo runs on gasoline & so emits zero CO2 emissions. I take it you're not a fan of sci-fi movies from the 80's? Hmm you may either be a lot older than me or a lot younger.
  14. I usually travel by X-Wing, though sometimes Delorean (w/ Flux Capacitor) if I forgot to tape my favorite TV show.
  15. Yes. The majority of professional psychological diagnoses are subjective, and based on generic, subjective, fortune cookie type categories (in the DSM-IV manual). I'm not claiming I'm a professional by any means, but I am saying that Cheney fits most of the categories of what one would label a "sociopath" and typical antisocial behaviour. It would be interesting to a pro's opinion on the matter.
  16. Yes. Refute it if the claim is so preposterous.
  17. I would say these ones describe Cheney fairly well, with minor variation on some:
  18. This website summarizes some of the common features of descriptions of the behavior of sociopaths (also known as 'psychopaths', but medically in the DSM-IV referred to in psychology as "Antisocial Personality Disorder"). Check out the list below and see if & how many describe Cheney. I would argue that Cheney certainly falls under the majority of those categories.
  19. Cheers! *raises his Make Poverty History bracelet*
  20. Natural environments, ecosystems, our air, our lungs. You gotta wonder why the right is constantly trying to destroy them.
  21. Fantastic video in the OP. From the OP ABC article link: I've also heard this charge from people within the CIA at the time. They said they NEVER before saw a VP visit the CIA beyond cutting a ribbon for a ceremony. Cheney is a criminal, and by psychological definition i would argue he fits most of the characteristics of a sociopath/psychopath. The man should be barred from Canada because we don't need morally deficient criminals in this country, or if not barred let him come in and have him arrested and tried for war crimes, along with a few other of his cronies. I believe in the rule of law, and if you break it, no matter if you're Cheney, Obama, Harper, Mugabe, or the freaking Dalai Lama, you should be held to account.
  22. True, but at least it's a step.
