It was reevaluating it's recruiting process taking them to the disaster they're in now. Recruiters have been able to slip increasing amounts of unethical tactics in recruiting --- taking felons is a last ditch effort to hide the downward spiralling failure of the military to inspire young folks to join up.

Bush says Iran is source of Deadly Bombs
Guthrie replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Sunshine, it's obvious by now that what you don't know about these matters could fill the Grand Canyon to overflowing. That's why you're so utterly shite at arguing details and why you only trade in sweeping declarations and hollow bombast. You skim the headlines, cruise the armchair warrior web, grab your talking points, drop them like steaming turds and scuttle away when someone has the temerity to challenge the actual substance (such as it is). stop it - you'r making me laugh out loud at the irony of those comments coming from YOU. but you are kinda onto something there, tho, DOGGY - unlike I don't spend my days my mother's basement researching muslim sects so that I can pretend to be a smartypants in my latest attempt to discredit the world's greatest leader (GW Bush). so what are you spending your days doing in your mother's basement --- and why do you have a bowl full of chocolate rabbits with their heads bitten off -
Bush says Iran is source of Deadly Bombs
Guthrie replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Bush has not a clue what is going on in Iraq, Iran, Afganistan or Pakistan -- most of the materials used for roadside bombs were supplied to the insurgents from Saddam's explosives stockpiles. Materials left unguarded, essentially free for the taking - by US military, under the direction of Rummy --- so it's the Buschistas supplying the terrorists much more than any Iranian arms dealer - it's just so pathetic -
lots of those on the extreme right, when faced with irrefutable truth, throw insults over their shoulders as they run away --- no, they cannot afford to listen to the truth as their unbalanced fairy tale views of the world cannot survive a truthful examination

So let me get this straight a democracy such as Israel will nuke Iran killing as many civilian's as possible, but the peaceful Iranian government would never do that? Israel is not a democracy --- Israel has nuclear weapons, Iran does not -- Israel has never shown any compunction about killing innocent civilians

Oh, so you're using the old,"Come on, everyone knows Gore claimed he invented the internet...," argument. So, actually, you have no evidence of such a claim. Shame on you.

"... Florida Court foisted themselves on the issue ..." I'm afraid you have your facts mixed up --- the Florida Supreme Court got involved when the Republicans brought the matter to them --- moreover -- the Florida courts have jurisdiction on Florida elections -- SCOTUS does not - and maybe dial down the hubris - you shouldn't be calling names when you don't know what you're talking about My above statements are not incorrect. Read it again. I never stated that anyone brought the matter to the Florida State court. I said the court foisted themselves(by not stopping the recounts of recounts) on the issue, and if that court has jurisdiction, then so does SCOTUS, simply because they handle appeals of lower courts. This is basic law. Name calling? Good one oh you who calls names in just about every post on this thread. Perhaps you should dial down your hypocrisy. Using numb nuts is particularly low brow. Edit: on reviewing this thread, your namecalling isn't in most every post like I thought. "My above statements are not incorrect." - yes they are. Apparently, you don't know what, 'foisted,' means -- so you might want to look that up - and no, there is no law that allows election judgements to be appealed to the SCOTUS -- you'd better check your basic law against your Constitutional Law - and the Constitution says where the SCOTUS can accept cases - elections isn't one of them and no, I don't call names, I return fire --- not, as do you, when cornered finally, you'd better cough up a quote and a source backing up that insult on Al Gore or admit it is not just a smear but also a falsehood

Guthrie, this is the post where, when you said SCOTUS had no business interfering in the US election, I mentioned that SCOTUS only became involved after the Florida Court foisted themselves on the issue. Most lefties had no problem when the Florida court ruled in favour of the recounts, they only got riled up when SCOTUS ruled against the repeated recounts. Which is a hypocritical position to take. As to Gore and the net, thank goodness he made that claim, otherwise he might have won the white house. "... Florida Court foisted themselves on the issue ..." I'm afraid you have your facts mixed up --- the Florida Supreme Court got involved when the Republicans brought the matter to them --- moreover -- the Florida courts have jurisdiction on Florida elections -- SCOTUS does not - and maybe dial down the hubris - you shouldn't be calling names when you don't know what you're talking about

you'll have to show me where he made, "silly claims like inventing the internet" and you'll have to show where The Supreme Court has authority over elections, as well perhaps you should study American History
-
he won the White House too, it was a major failure of US democracy that he didn't become president and only numbnuts still pass around that internet insult lie

no, I think he will do his best to NOT attend http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/6336333.stm

only right wingers are whining in this thread --- it tears them up that Al Gore is nominated for a Nobel Prize, while shrub is nominated for a war crimes trial
-
Funny that you think that, reality says otherwise. For liberals, reality is flexible and U.S. Supreme Court Justices don't count, unless they make rulings you can get behind, like abortion.(The Court ruled you can't have recounts until you get a win.) in US elections, the SCOTUS doesn't count --- more to the point, they violated their oaths when they ordered the count of votes to stop For right wing reactionaries, reality is what big brother tells them -- WMD one day spreading Democracy the next, it doesn't matter, the bloodbath continues unabated and only the excuses have changed --- THAT is reality

no, it doesn't

No, officially it was put on trial, convicted and what part of it is not currently in jail, has been put to death. -

Iran attacked sovereign US soil in it's attack on the US embassy in 1979 and took hostages. Ahmedinejad was one of the people ivolved. It was not Iran who attacked the US embassy. It was one of the warring factions inside Iran who attacked the US embassy. Later, it was a deal worked out with GHWB to keep those hostages until after Reagan won the election and took office. So, Iran DID engage in criminal activities and an effort to subvert the US govt. They just did so by making a deal with the Reaganite fascists. -
Al Gore won the presidential election of 2000.

More hyperbole from black as coal.......and as usual, false who stands by the US in Iraq? the Brits? - I mean the Brits are our biggest ally but it is only the Tony Blair govt who remain loyal --- the population of GB abandoned any support of the Iraq effort a couple years ago there are no other countries supporting the Bush crusade -- false hyperbole????? no, it is just the rational truth - everyone knows it except for the worst of the right wing servile toads

The president has the power to respond to provocation and attack, which is the case they are trying to build with "seized Iranian weapons" and "seized Iranian agents". He can respond to a created "provocation" which is what Zbigniew Brzezinski is warning the US Congress of right now. He almost came right out and said that we did 9/11 and are capable of doing it again. Then the Bush Administration can claim "defense" as their rationale. However, nobody is buying it this time and Brzezinski's warning may have complicated their plans even further. What, do you think Bush is an idiot or something? yes, an idiot

Remember the one about Iraq and the WMDs? How about the one about Al-Qaeda and Iraq? Or the one involving the statement "In and out, not a moment longer?" greeted with flowers 6 weeks, not likely 6 months ...
