Slow Clap BC. The Left Lane is for PASSING!
guyser replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Boges, any idea what he meant with this statement? It appears he mean there is a law on the book, there isnt. One can if sufficiently PO'd can pass on the right , in safety of course and no charge can be levied. A left lane hog doing the limit ,while a pain for us speedy gonzales, is legal almost entirely . -

They were assumptions you used to denigrate a whole subsection of people. And they were wrong. Thats all. So by and large, a student who is applying for higher education here in Canada is likely/probably commiting some heinous crimes back in his homeland? And his sponsors, education authorities would have no idea about any of this when asked under the sponsor program? I suppose it could happen....much like an earthquake , but no one here worries about that. See , a Moose is more likely to kill you on this side of the country than a Muslim student. I think pik has some room under his bed for you. And you are welcome to that opinion and no smart ass reply from me. But let me show you the folly of that thinking....look down....see those shoes/pants/shirt/ipod/drinking cup/remote....did you apply that same standard to your self when you were buying that stuff since it all likely says Made in China? Ya know....communists and all, no equal rights for women nor gays. Well my friend , best not to denigrate the Elites when you have utterly failed to put your point across in a coherent manner now is there? So to turn it around would it be fair to suggest the other side is made up of morons? No , I dont think so. I have a mental picture of you and Elmer Fudd out hunting Moose and yakking about how scared you are of the terrorists in Canada. Such irony doncha think? No not really. I mean , yes....I do think I am always right. But then I realize in the face of calm reasoned thought from the other side that maybe I am not so right. Then I learn so I can be right next time. Some times the same crap over and over and over, is correct ! Show me the error of my ways kind sir ! Thanks -

Well , you see in 'comprehension' , there are mainly two levels , the first being shallow (low level} and the next is deep level. But deep level involves semantic processing which happens when we encode the meaning of a word and relate it to similar words. Shallow processing involves structural and phonemic recognition, the processing of sentence and word structure and their associated sounds. But to answer your question, I does comprehenend....purty good I reckon. Calm down there Minpower. They enforce it here, but how would you know? But yeah...wish they would. They should also charge the truckers who try and pass and wind up pissing the whole lot off By the way, whats the picture for? -

Probably best you avoid Ontario. The trucks that pass by all the time are definietly going more than 100k. Not to mention that the laws here seem somewhat foreign to you . Ahh...lets blame to other guy for not slowing down to let you pass. It may just be me, but when I look to overtake someone I will know before I do if I can pass in safety and in a timely manner. Trucks that dont take that courtesy are the ones who drive the rest of us crazy. -

So you've seen them but not that many. And? And as you pointed out, most cities here, jst like the US, dont allow Semi's (18 Whlrs) in the left lane. (sign RB -39) -

guyser replied to WestCoastRunner's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It is ? Who knew? By the way , do you understand what 'could' means? I doubt it. Oops....best stop right there. Reprint iwht 'I know.." thanks in advance. No not at all . But for the most part I do trust Canadian Govt guidelines for something like this. Afterall, it is our Govt (the one in Ottawa?)who sets the rules, not some foreign govt. Lets call that mistake #1 And those guidelines say that the student must have health insurance when applying and coming to learn here. Lets call this mistake #2. By any chance is there any relevance to this or do you need some board to rant incoherently on? Can we call this mistake #3....yea, lets ! Cool story bro. See mistake #3. -

They are and you are right, they should be fun to watch. But I have to say, I put them in the 'Presidents Cup Failure Dept' .....any team that comes from almost nowhere (they were all previously good)and rises to be cream of the crop tend to falter the first years vying for the Cup. Ottawa St Louis Colorado (last year) NYI...tis year Detroit. It would appear (and no research by me) that it takes a couple of runs and failures to figure it all out . Of course that doesnt explain the SJ Sharks so...........

He doesnt get out of his moms basement. We should be able to tell since no one, not you me or anyone else tells a border guard to stop looking or taking pictures. He proves time this and again -

Illegal workers in U.S.
guyser replied to WestCoastRunner's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So youd rather have the illegal live next door, undocumented, no health insurance, no money...versus a Visa Student who has to have health insurance, funds for the year, no criminal background and documneted up the wazoo. Its a weird funny world you live in. Unless of course you ascribe all Saudi's (lets be honest, middle eastern types/Muslims) to be terrorists. Funny thing is.....that illegal from Mexico could be working here for the cartels. Oops....? -

Oh boy.....such abject ignorance. Of course it does , specifically the CBSA has rules that trump the Charter when at a border crossing The right to privacy for one, they need not any suspicion to search you, anytime anywhere on the grounds. They can hold you without any charges for quite some time. But hey, dont believe me? Take your tough guy image over to Pearson and tell those CBSA folk that your the internet tough guy who is here to show them the ropes. FCJ is an apt description. Keep it up , youve earned it. -

Because they are Border Guards and you have given up certain rights when you are there. They do not need reasonable suspiscion to serach you, go through your car and dig anywhere they want. As for the lock box, they can xray it, they can pry it open if no key is present and they can also confiscate it. Well , they can ask to see your banking info to ascertain whether or not you have enough money to be in Canada for your stay, they can ak for proof of employment to ascertain that youd be going back after the stay and so on. Of course this hardly applies to citizens but there you go. Uh...um....facepalm. The rules ARE different for some people who are heads of countries for obvious reasons. Lets start with.... -Does the Queen get a passport? -What about a holder of a red passport for diplomatic ammunity and their possessions cannot be searched? -What about a holder of a UN passport which allows people NOT to be questioned at borders? -Sure....Obama, step over there for a pat down and while youre at it do you have enough money on you for the stay? Oi vey Hell, their guards probably have someone on site who could crack it in minutes anyhow -
Gov't to bring in longer sentences for murder convictions
guyser replied to The_Squid's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Where does all this happen? Its not in Canada. But go ahead, you try and write a law for the death penalty whereby its only reserved for certain crimes. Should be fun. Post it here and we can critique it .
