  1. What? This area is protected from logging, from mining, from everything. If the climate is warming, these areas will be protected and allow to grow trees that will take carbon out of the atmosphere. Canada is HUGE. I don't get how some people can think that protecting fully 1% of our land mass in one swoop can be interpreted as PR. You guys need to travel more. Twice the size of Nova Scotia? That is HUGE. Just because you don't live there doesn't mean that it isn't important to protect - especailly now that development of the north is really taking off.
  2. The pension plan was re-worked by Paul Martin years ago. It is now self sufficient and will be around for a long time to come. it will be here. Now get a job and start paying into it.Would be wise for you to have your own saving as well.
  3. Your private religious ideals should be made public even if you only ever practice them in your own home? You don't really think about what you say do you Drea?
  4. Yep, the man made GW fanatics think that the time for debate is over and anyone who dares debate it now are to be ostracized. This is not science, it's a cult.
  5. Wow, that's some enlightened political thought there. I';m sure you helped these kids out alot. Sadly, if one of these kids parroted exactly what you said, they would probably garner 20% of the vote.
  6. Why do you hate the police Jenny?
  7. Protected area is twice the size of Nova Scotia. This will do more to protect our environment than Kyoto ever will. We need to worry MORE about conservation and less about man made CO2 emissions in my opinion. Link: http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2007/11...4673835-cp.html
  8. I think history will be much kinder to Bush than many think. The liberal media absolutely LOATHED Reagan and now you would think he was a democrat. The good: tax cuts; agressive confrontation against terrorism, restricting abortion as a form of birthcontrol (late term abortions), amalgamating federal security agencies. The bad: won the war in Iraq, but had a hard time with the 'peace'. rushed into Iraq too quickly, huge deficits.
  9. Are you at the end of your talking points memo yet? Some people would really like to talk about the issue not just rehash 60's slogans.
  10. hahaha Rhetoric much?
  11. They could give a fig about the children, they just want more members for CUPE. Such blatent ideology. They should be ashamed of themselves.
  12. subtract ten years.
  13. The banks only lend out what people ask of them to lend. They aren't crack dealers. I do agree with your conclusion, that Banks make too much money - I just think they need more competition in the market place, not more regulation.
  14. Homebuilders? Look, the banks are just businesses. If you are compkaining about banks, you should be complaining about Canadian banks - well actually - the Canadian bank act. It restricts competition. There are good things in it which prevent bank failures compared to the US but it really needs to be reformed. Look, you seem to be arguing that banks shoudl lose more money - but leet me tell you, when a bank closes up shop, no one wins including you. The bank can lose money because the value of that 'asset' can go down in value when it starts happening alot - which is exactly what is going on in alot of home markets in the US. PS: It's spelled 'lose'. ie: The leafs will 'lose' to the sens next game. not: You're girlfriend is 'loose' Why is that word mis spelled so often?
  15. Yes, cyclones and Bangledesh is new phenomenon and is only happening due to us over here in Canada trying to keep warm in the winter.
  16. A good time to buy bank stocks with all of their juicy dividend cash flow... mmmm..... The correction is being over stated. The subprime mortgage 'fiasco' will be a memory in 6 months. jittery investors have made too much money and are looking for a reason to see doom and gloom. 50% of investing is based on knowing how the economy works. The other 50% is knowing how herds of cattle think.
  17. It would take alot of money but a highspeed link along side the cargo lines could make sense in a Montreal,. Ottawa, Toronto triangle. Could be a good election campaign issue IMO. The most money would be building all of the overpasses needed. certainly worth investigating at the very least.
  18. excellent post! I agree 100%. People who can label a complex issue such as the death penalty as 'good' or 'bad' betray a shallow, lazy thinking pattern.
  19. the sooner the better! yay!
  20. "HAAAAAA... HA!"* *TM Simpson's Inc.
  21. Again.. any thought to a quick 5 question sanity test for new members?
  22. This is what passes for Canadian left wing 'enlightened thought' these days..
  23. Wow. What rants! Just lost your job at timmies did ya? poor fella. Voting NDP will fix that all up. ;/
  24. haha. You will never have a high speed rail link to NORTH BAY!! I could see a Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa link(s) but not Northbay.
