  1. I would agree that you have an anti-semetic agenda. Buffycat too.
  2. They are fresh Obsessed[ hahaha
  3. You did hear about the Quebec courst decision made last year didn't you? I am not deflecting at all. We have a right to timely health care and if the governmnet can't provide that then we have the RIGHT to seek private care. THAT was the decision.
  4. Betsy, is, way off base in her erroneous gender baiting. August pointed out some reasons why s/he is. And I can point out to any number of commercials that depict women in a negative light, in as much, or more, as any depicting men suchly. Try watching TV one day and keep track eh?! Instead of listening to the absolute hogwash that is being distributed by the Dominionists. Oh. my. god. you really are losing it aren't you? It's comical to see.
  5. So your gripe, again, is really with the charter of rights and freedoms, not religion. You should really investigate what it is that you are angry about. That way you can be bigoted but not as ignorant. Our charter says I have to let you be bigoted you know. (in case you were wondering)
  6. So you believe that he does not. No matter how many times I hit the ball out of the park you still don't get it do you? it is not anyone's belief system that is the threat, it is ONLY the belief systems of those that are intolerant of OTHERS that are the threat. Are you THAT think man? My God. I agree, Communism in Cuba is a very bad thing. I believe in the equality of opportunity as well. Glad we can agree on that. Why would you be asking for evidence of something you believe doesn't exist? That's just silly. Irrelevant to you perhaps. Not to others. YOu CANNOT DICTATE TO OTHERS YOUR BELIEFS AND REQUIRE THEM TO BELIEVE THEM. IF YOU INSIST ON DOING SO THEN YOU ARE NO BETTER THEN THE VERY THING YOU HATE. Weird how some people fit into a hypocritical role so very easily and seemingly, don't appreciate it.
  7. 193 last I checked isn't it? And wouldn't that be about the same number of countries on the allies side in WW1?
  8. I don't think that my right to believe what I want interfere's with any atheists right to believe what they want. What passes for 'haute couture' these days is bigotry. I know it's all in vogue to be an atheist and far left now. So what? Why do some on that spectrum tend to make themselves feel better by belittling others that do not think as they do? If there beliefs were as correct as they think they are they woudl not care to belittle others that believe differently. I am an independant thinker and proud of it.
  9. What about the charter? Isn't the Charter of rights and freedom's the real culprit? LOL I'd like to have a chocie in healthcare. I don't want the USA's system, but I would like (and am constitutionally entitled to) a choice in healthcare. Kind of like Switzerland's healthcare system. There are other models that are better than ours. I want universal coverage for all and choice for me to go to a private provider should I want. And it's coming wether you like it or not.
  10. Dominionists? You mean like John A. McDonald?
  11. yes or intelligent life somewhere else in the universe.. and alternate universe's and 13 dimensions etc etc. Much of the best theories in theoretical science are irrational and un-proveable. but they may not be anyless right because of this. And are not less plausible for lack of it.
  12. Who here do you think cares wether you believe in a higher power or not? Some people do and some people don't. I'm not here to convince anyone. I'm not sure myself. I have an open mind and seek knowledge and education all the time. It is not irrational to think that science does not have the answers to everything and to also wonder if there is a higher meaning to life. What I am on here to defend is my right to ponder the universe with wonder without being called an idiot and being called irrational. To me, your closed minds are irrational.
  13. Finding fault with certain passages of the bible and believing in a higher power are mutually exclusive.
  14. logical fallacy. This would only make sense if you subscribed to the notion that science has discovered all there is to discover - which of course, is not true.
  15. This post has been reported. No need to repeat it -- you know which one I mean, if not look up the date. I WANT to insult you, but I won't. I shouldn't need to should I? Yes I know which one. What was your question again?
  16. Who? Sharkman? Nope. my bad. thought you were responding to armyguy
  17. Most ignorant statement in the thread winner!
  18. Oh you kids with your zany acronyms. WTF? LOL? Uh, you are aware that the vast majority of people in Afghanistan would qualify as "Islamic fundamentalists" right? I'm thinking he would know better than you one way or the other as he was actually over there.
  19. Yes I would say you did. You displayed your historical ignorance. My original point stands: If the human race was at it's most brutal to one another in the century which marked a loosening of theistic belief, it makes it rather difficult to argue that god is poison. It is much easier to argue that humanity is the poison and more specifically intolerance of others with different beliefs. And yet here you are mocking people for their beliefs.. By the way -- I did not write the article. I simply posted it. Theist beliefs will always be intolerable -- its the nature of "religion" to be intolerant. Yes, years ago it was much much better to burn so-called heretics in the name of "god" than to tolerate them. Yes, today it is so wonderful that practically an entire "religion" is willing to kill themselves in the name of a "god". I stand by my original point -- the concept of god is poison to the human race as it will always pit one group against another -- unless of course one group is able to kill off or convert everyone. Regardless of the statistical number of deaths from century to century the point remains -- There is no way to prove the existence of the invisible father figure and therefor there will never be agreement among "religions". Sorry, engaging you in reasoned debate is like trying to talk to a person with Down's syndrome. Well not quite, all the Down's people I know are happy and non-judgemental.
  20. I don't care who owns them - tastes the same as it did before. I must admit that I am proud that Moosehead is the largest independantly owned Canadian Brewer though. But really, they sell most of their beer in the states, so it doesn't really matter.
  21. Well that is a sweeping, arrogant statment to make. Some evil has been done in religions name, for sure - but I would say that religion has done more good than bad in human history.
  22. Yes I would say you did. You displayed your historical ignorance. 23. What I find irrational is figleaf thinking anyone would care who is on his ignore list.
  24. I think by definition, faith based belief system is somewhat redundant. I'm sure if we wiggle and wriggle a bit, someone could come up with a Non-Faith based belief system...... Anyway.......I think someone is having difficulty understanding the definition of rational, irrational or maybe, ahem....non rational..... bigotry is irrational that way hahahaha lovely!
