National Citizens Coalition is a Sham
scribblet replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Mmmm, about what one would expect from a reader of Rabble.ca, a web site where only true believers are permitted to post - to each other, and where no freedom of expression of any kind if tolerated. Just banned, mirror? Don't you want them arrested, too? Perhaps put in labour camps? Tortured? Executed? Why would you even post the knowledge-free opinion of a mindless leftist twit like this and then use it as a discusson? You don't have enough knowledge-free drivel of your own for us to shoot down? The NCC has 40,000 members and it has a lot more democratic principles than rabble.ca. Not that a guy who clearly has no tolerance whatever for freedom of speech would be capable of understanding that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agree with you there, not only is rabble completely undemocratic (left wing only please) but it is rude and allows swearing. NCC is as legitimate as any organization which forms to promote political ideas and issues, and yes its voluntary, union dues are not. Left wingers hate the Fraser inst. too, but claiming it is biased does not eliminate the legitimacy of their information. -
Grewal Found Innocent Of Any Tape Wrongdoing
scribblet replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The liberals won't apologize, they will just continue on as if he hasn't been cleared and the sheeples will believe they were innocent of any wrong doing. Murphy etal should resign, they were the ones doing the bribing but the liberals managed to deflect their illegal actions onto Grewal. He's been cleared by the ethics commissioner re: the cheques and receipts accusations from Dosanjhi's supporters. The riding association investigated it thoroughly and cleared him also. As far as Grewal running again, I don't know if he has the nomination, however, no matter how innocent he is the liberals have managed to taint him and will continue to do so. I also doubt that he can win that riding again. The whole liberal smear campaign stinks, if Inky Mark had produced evidence that he had been bribed, don't think he wouldn't be under RCMP investigation too....liberal chicanary knows no bounds. -
Why did Harper become leader of Conserv. Party
scribblet replied to onlythetruth's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Awe, comeone guy The bilderbergers again. Its strictly a group of businesspeople getting together to discusss the economy, nothing more and nothing nefarious. Anyone who is anyone eventually gets invited. Nelson Mandella was at one of them, Bill Gates and his wife there there last year (?) get over it, or get your tinfoil hats on. -
Layton Calls On PM Martin To Step Aside
scribblet replied to bigdude's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The specific 'ethical' failing shown by the Grewal tapes is in a grey area. Moreover, how far the Liberals crossed into that grey area depends on what was said on the original undoctored tapes and what was said in conversations that Grewal may not have recorded. My guess is the Grewal affair will only serve to solidify people's current position. For every voter that abandons the Liberal's for deal making we will see another leave the Conservatives for doctoring the tapes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So far we only have allegations about the doctoring of the tapes, and at that, a very small segment op those tapes. The tapes are conclusive proof that the liberals were into vote buying etc. All should step aside and Martin should call an election this fall. -
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> It sure looks that way, clearly there were negotioations going on and the usual tactics of diversion and 'not me, it was the other guy' is going on. Grewal and the 3 liberal stooges should step down until an investigation is complete. There should be an election in the fall based on the honesty and integrity of the government (or lack thereof)

Advice for Gurmant and Stephen
scribblet replied to The Terrible Sweal's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The only Christian Fundamentalist party that I know of is the Christian Heritage Party. I don't see anyone forcing religion down any one's throat. Last I heard we live in a democracy and all people have a right to a voice and a opinion. Or am I getting a sense here that some people think christians shouldn't have opinons or a vote? -
Has anyone heard on the news that they may not be going now (as of Thursday eve.)
-
I agree but the liberals are masters at manipulating and using the media (Martins speech last week is a great example) but the voters buy into the mass hysteria created by them and by golly, chicken littles - the sky is falling the sky is falling syndrome. cheers
-
This is true and one reason I get ticked off too, no one has ever said they want to get rid of the current system. Did anyone read the letter last week in the N.P. from Preston M. & Mike Harris saying "We do not support a U.S. style Health Care system" ? The sheeples believe what the liberal machine tells them, they buy into it lock stock and barrel.
-
I tend to agree with you on that, I admire Preston Manning. The problem is lots of people buy into the smear campaigns about the 'hidden agenda' well, the hidden agenda is right there on their website, but nobody reads it (or they ignore it). I would love to see Preston Manning come back but in the meantime, Harper is the leader . The CPC is not doing a good job at articulating its message and is overshadowed by the liberal attack machine. Sheeples buy into it and have selective amnesia when it comes to electing liberals. cheers

Who is best to be the next PM of Canada?
scribblet replied to Bro's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why do you think Europeans accept it? Are they just not as smart as you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Europeans have a mix of systems which are successful, France and Sweden for example. Harper does not want to 'privatize health care' he (and I agree) wants to see some private clinics and choices for users alongside a public health care system and within the Canada Health Act. He has been consistent on this. I should have a choice as to where I spend my money and should have the option to pay for a procedure if I wish. I can pay for lazer eye surgery, cosmetic surgery etc. Men have been going to the private Shouldice Clinic for years. Why not an MRI if I needed on in a hurry? My choice, my money. cheers P.S. I don't understand all the posts that have the email thingy only on them? -
They don't want funerals either but they go. I would prefer to wait until the Fall, if Gomery can produce a report earlier . Even so I don't think it hinges on a final report, don't we know enough now to know that they have lost the moral authority to govern? A mid winter election is a no go and Martin knows that it will have to in the spring. Voters won't go out in bad weather, polls could be closed due to storms and many polls in the far north cannot be opened or accessed. There are good reasons for not having winter elections (when did we last have one in winter?) But Martin is aware of all of that and is counting on voter amnesia by the spring. (it doesn't take that long, they will have forgotten a week after Gomery is out of the news). cheers

Is that your idea of intelligent debate?
-
Harper has brought the party together, during the convention many issues were debated and hundreds of resolutions passed. Ultimatley there was consensus which ended with a unified party' even after MacKay's hissy fits. I don't think Harper is going anywhere soon. It would indeed be interesting times if the U.S. President were a woman (Hilary) and the conservatives ended up with a female leader, hopefully Prime Minister in the near future.

Martin gets no advice,he is the fall guy for the l
scribblet replied to Bro's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I am not a fan of the liberals but I am inclined to think that Martin was not involved, Chretien is the guy behind it. However, Martin must have turned a blind eye to what was going on, as he must have been aware of something. My guess is he didn't have a choice as he would have been pilloried by the press for accusing Chretien of being corrupt, so, he kep his mouth shut. Its time for a change of government, any party in power for that long needs to be cleaned out. -
The top rated health care systems are a mix of private and publicly funded, Sweden France and New Zealand are two examples, and I believe France receives the top ratings. There is no reason why Canadians shouldn't have a choice, one should not have to to the U.S. to avoid wait lists, why not spend the money in Canada.

I believe it is only the tip of the iceberg, the corruption is long and deep. However, I believe the sheeples in Ontario will continue to vote liberal, you know 'ho hum, its only in Quebec' as they seem to believe the liberal blarney, you know. that they are the 'natural ruling party'. The voters continue to buy into the misinformationa and half truthers perpetuated by the mainly liberal media, not to mention the liberal attack ads at election time. The conservatives have not been all that great at getting the message out therefore people buy into the lies and propaganda. The health care issue is a prime example of how continually repeating the myth of 'hidden agenda' and 'they will privatize health care like the U.S.' is a generally accepted fact, when it is just not true.
-
Diane Ablonzy is articulate and intelligent, well able to take on the liberal attack artists. I would be willing to give her a chance. Harper is also articulate and intelligent but lacks charisma, he doesn't have enough 'punch' to attract a voter who doesn't see through the liberal rhetoric. He also needs to look up into the camera/eyes more often and not look down, doesn't look good to viewers.

Dutch Consider Forced Use Of Dutch in Religious
scribblet replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I hope you are not saying that the terrorist violence is acceptable, because it isn't. Killing those people in Holland had nothing to do with Bush or the war. It was in retalliation to someone speaking out against Islam, and that is cause for killing to some adherents. f Europe doesn't take a Multiculturalism is fine to a point but when it produces the tension and problems arising in Europe we need to look at that and learn. It is not just Holland but Denmark, Sweden, France and Britain who are struggling with how to handle a huge muslim population which some radicals, and are now waking up to the realities of what could be in store for them if they do not react now. We can co-exist peacefully, but we cannot allow demands for Sharia and Muslim law to take hold. Sharia Law in Ontario is the start of a slippery slope, why would we allow a group of women to become second class citizens and why would we allow any Imam or minister to preach jihad or exhort his flock to commit violence? We shouldn't. -
Supreme Court OKs Same Sex Marriages
scribblet replied to Black Dog's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If by 'fundy' you are referring to a Christian fundamentalist or maybe a Muslim fundamentalist, are they not entitled to a political voice, or does democracy only extend to some people. While I don't believe we should be in the nations's bedrooms, I do have a problem with changing the definition of marriage. It is only a matter of time before religious rights will be struck down and along with that all religious marriages. -
Canada Practicing Systemic Racism
scribblet replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hello: They do share in the economic wealth, they get around $10 billion of our tax dollars a year, with little or no accountability. Where does it all go, I believe if that money were given individually it would amount to about $50K per person. ALL people should be equal, race based preferential treatment is a legal form of discrimination, reservations are a form of apartheid. I have a fundamental disagreement to building a society in which rights, responsibilities and opportunity are defined by a person's racial ancestry. -
Hi: does anyone know to whom we owe the federal debt to, and what it was spent on? I think taxpayers deserve to know that. That surplus was gained on the backs of the taxpayer, I think half should go back to the taxpayer and half to the debt.

Martin vs. Harper - Good vs. Evil
scribblet replied to jacqueline944's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No Harper doesn't want to copy cat Bush, that more liberal lies and malicious slander. -
From my perspective, socialists want all people to be equal - that is - equally poor. The conservatives are getting my vote.

Anti Americanism seems to be on the rise in Canada, check out this web site. http://discuss.50plus.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate...gi?action=intro in particular the politics forum. The venom and pathalogical hatred towards Bush and the States is almost hysterical. Any comment about politics seems to result in and an Anti US Bush tirade. The US is not a perfect society but which one is? Who else would we rather have for a neighbour? While I and I'm sure most people don't agree with everything, I just have to shake my head in amazement.
