What's the issue? Up until Coulter did her thing...there was no issue regarding "freedom of speech". A bunch of protestors disrupted an assholes venue and she moved on to another venue. Whats the big deal here? Protestors tried to disrupt the Olympics too. Surely you recall the torch run had to divert its path once or twice but life went on....no yelling and arm waving over "freedom of speech" stuff...get a life..

By next week everyone will have moved on to important stuff and Ann will return to her GOP nest with her fellow extremists and live happily ever after living up to all expectations.

It had everything to do with people protesting against the crap that is constantly being spewed by an ignorant attention whore. Essentially, it is illegal in Canada to promote genocide OR to publicly incite hatred against people based on their colour, race, religion, ethnic origin, and sexual orientation, except where the statements made are true or are made in good faith. Nuthin' wrong with that. Unlike the US, I dont believe Canada has any laws concerning the establishment of "Free Speech Zones" using chain link fences.

I am indeed reminded that those protests were handily dealt with by the police and didnt have to kill any one. The right wing zealots later felt that shooting a few students was the more appropriate way to go. Bottom line is that the folks who were protesting the likes of that ignoramus attention whore in Ottawa were simply exercising their right to object to a US hate mongers presence at the university. The attention whore elected to call the program off. Thats about it....
