When they abolish elections and rule like an arbitrary allah....you'll have a point. When they start conducting operations against Shi'ites....you'll have a point..... No one I know expects the Afghan gov't to win a Nobel prize.....but if the violence can be checked.....even a gov't which in flavour is as Islamic as Kuwait...or Saudi Arabia....will be a incredible step forwards....like time warping for the 16th to 19th century as it were.

I've said it before I'll say it again. We need to debate.....We need to discuss things like....... Do we need 1 or 2 more battalions to do the job What about Air Support? I have troubles believing there wasn't more to it then that.... Even terrorists have more legitmate motivations than just randomly selecting countries to kill innocent civilians for sport. My arguement is that the majority of middle eastern hate towards the west comes from a long history of intervention, of which the US has been probably the most involved. I think it is fairly clear that Bin Laden has a specific hatred for America in particular. I was being flippant. Of course Bin Laden has a special hate on for America because of her foreign policies. That doesn't excuse Bin Laden nor does it condemn America's foreign policies. Japan attacked the USA over her foreign policies (opposing Japan's war in China). Britain decalred war on Germany because of Germany's foreign policies ......(invading her neighbours) That being said, America's pre 911 policies of: supporting Bosnian muslims, feeding somalian muslims, trying to broker peace and establish a homeland for Palestinian Muslims.....these and having the audacity of having a presence in Saudi Arabia...that's what pissed off Bin Laden.

As far as I know, a business can refuse to serve anyone for any reason. Within reason and within the law. You can't refuse to serve someone becuase of the race, etc etc

As someone who is definately not a Harperite and not particularly a conservative voter .... (I have voted for the Progressive Conservatives, Once for Pat Boyer because he struck me as principled and once for Barbara McDougal because she came to my door and she showed some cleavage...I'm a sucker for cleavage...that and she lisped slightly, her red lips curled as she asked me for my support, my heart melting at her ernest request as I gazed on her heaving blush bosom......but I wander...) .....I was quite pleased that the Retread Tories did so well in quebec at the expense of Duceppe and his bunch of idiots.....unfortunately federal policies like Afghanistan and the pandering to the knee jerk social conservatives don't fly well in the Belle province.
