So while both may be the result of U.S. actions, the ultimate blame for the massacre of some 2 million Cambodians lies with the party who carried it out: the Khmer Rouge. My point is these policies - again, policies that are the stock and trade of any imperial power since the beginning of civilization - can be discussed without facile comparisons to the big bad Nazis who are reviled specifically because of the unique nature of their criminal enterprise.
