  1. i see a lot of dyslexia there, have you been drinking tonight? well i suppose since it is legal to do so, its not a problem then. look, if you do not want to persist in this discussion anymore, thats entirely up to you. however i did not attempt to even try and attack or insult you, but the fact that you and certain others here need to resort to that, habitually, says something about your attitude, and your ability to debate issues. i dont mind discussing a difference of opinion with someone else, but why must you add these kind of remarks to your argument- "Even you must have enough grey matter between your ears to understnad that." "There is no sense in persisting with you on this as you just do not comprehend anyything." they just take away from any valid point you're making, it makes you look like an old fool. so think about that next time, old timer. so i will let it go this time, because i think you are not sober. as for me, i am sober as usual, and when i wake up tomorrow, wont have any regrets for who and what i am, or what ive said today. --- edit- "Tbud what you posted ahd noithign to do with any nmedical association or organization." yes i did mention that, i was mistaken that the more than 130 signatures collected from medical professionals, doctors, scientists were not part of an official association. ->"They were not for legalization and definitely were not in support of the rest of what you were saying." i am in support of what they are saying, and they are saying to treat drug users as a medical problem, not criminal. that is the best approach. that is what i am saying, nothing else.
  2. i am a fisher of men, but he's just trollin ;^)
  3. by that logic you are simply employing more prison guards instead. and when the convict is released, still addicted, now having done time with hardened criminals, bank robbers, rapists. the harm to the individual is greater than the harm he posed to society. then they come out and try to get a job, not much chance. it makes no sense. even financially, it makes more sense to use reform, than prison sentences. we still allow smoking, knowing full well what it does, and how much it costs the health care system. you cant make this problem go away, no matter how totalitarian you make the society. an alcoholic has to admit they have a problem to help themselves, and this society is in denial. for most people are addicted in some form of substance abuse, be that tobacco, booze, pills, etc. and yet its ludicrous to say, that they should all be thrown in prison. prison should only be for the bad boys, for people who are a real threat. in this case, the user is harming themselves, but now society threatens to harm them even more, than the drugs do. so prevention, yes. education, yes. harm reduction, absolutely. imprisonment? ne pas, Stephen. nes pas. it is a medical problem. your mother is addicted on valium, it is a medical problem. no difference.
  4. i disagree with this. the alternative is a monoculture... i guess there'd be no more problems anymore then. its conform or else. the question then too is, which monoculture. i think the original idea of multiculturalism is to have us learn to appreciate others cultures, the differences, with the expectation of becoming tolerant. not, isolationist and intolerant. and not conformist. its good to have differences, within certain broad rules of conduct. thats the vision of canada not a bad idea, except for the problem of definition of the "right path of life". and you mentioned it "really does not have to be explained"... if not, then why the need to teach it? i myself DO believe that it has to be explained. yes, we should teach certain ideas about morality to our children. its not to be taken for granted. what we see today, some of these social problems are resulting from generations raised in so-called godlessness, with nothing to replace it. but rather than teach to a monoculture, ie. with the christians in one school, the hindus in another, why not teach human spirituality in public schools, discussing ideas from many different religious beliefs... that would be an expression of multiculturalism. then we can eliminate the separate school board entirely
  5. some laws need to be reformed, not followed blindly if they are unjust. or where the punishment does not fit the crime. some can still get away with it... i guess robert blake would know more about that
  6. sssssss... ;^) and you love it... gives you a reason d'etre
  7. whoops, just a type-o... i got mixed up because george bush, and his assistant, the anaconda ;^)
  8. again with the insults. yes it would be impolite, just like it would be to tell you to shut the hell up.
  9. yes its not surprising that you need to respond with such violent thoughts. i would say you know nothing about raising kids, but if you do have them, i'm sorry for them.
  10. the sad thing about the united snakes is, the feds have overruled any states that have decriminalized, and send in the DEA and ATF to deal with these dengerous medical marijuana users and growers. ahh, money money money! read prison-industrial-complex. oh, make that military-prison-industrial complex.
  11. i would say, y'all should be completely used to it by now. around here for example, i came here to have reasonable debates, and it was some of you folks struck first blood. yet who stood up for me on that day? no one. so i am ready to fend for myself, if you attack me i will give eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, but doubly there unto. and those of you know who i am talking about... but i dont need to insult you, just outhink you. which in most cases is extremely easy to do. as even today when canadica came here, how is he treated? same old same old. so dont be too surprised, like i said you may not like what you hear, those of you who are fearful, be afraid. edit- and when they are ready to enforce the rules, i am ready to play by them. only some here simply cannot, because they have no other legs to stand on, besides their foolishness
  12. yes i do understand, and as a fisherman i like to bait my hooks with tasty snacks, then wait and see who will bite... but i dont just make statements like the one i did above out of the blue without supporting facts. i also have a very good memory... dispelling yet another myth about cannabis smokers. just was reading some news on yahoo canada, and came across some more responses to the outdated ideas of mr. harper- Group including former Vancouver mayor, judge pan Tory anti-drug strategy 2 hours, 23 minutes ago By The Canadian Press VANCOUVER - A coalition of Vancouver health and social groups says prison terms and attempts to scare users straight won't solve Canada's illegal drug problem. The Beyond Prohibition Coalition says Prime Minister Stephen Harper's new anti-drug strategy is looking for simplistic solutions to what is a complicated health and social issue. They call the new drug strategy, announced Thursday, naive and based on the prime minister's personal views rather than evidence. Harper said the government's $64-million program will include mandatory prison terms for serious drug offences but targets two-thirds of the money on prevention, treatment for addicts and anti-drug promotion campaigns aimed at young people. Former Vancouver mayor Philip Owen says he's puzzled the government is adopting the failed U.S. war-on-drugs approach, and former provincial court judge Jerry Paradis calls the plan simple posturing leading to a fall election.
  13. well someone is certainly arresting 30% more pot users since Harper, as the article states. ... who else could that be? so much for that one...
  14. well in the short time i've been here, most of what i've seen you do is exactly this, calling people names, and saying little else. this post now is you talking, to yourself. you like to throw in little one-liners in your posts that you think are cute and funny, but they have no meaning behind them besides childish pranks. otherwise, its thinly veiled hate. posts that are irrelevant, breaks the forum rules. posts that directly insult, breaks the forum rules. i wonder how many times others have reported you, with the so-called "form", and you've had a warning? how many warnings? ergo, the forum rules are just a joke, they have no teeth. and you are proof of this.
  15. it is by far NOT the same thing, stealing means takes someone elses property, you commit an offense against someone else. smoking pot, no offense to someone else. even alcohol, is more dangerous. even tobacco, is more dangerous. yet police love to arrest pot smokers, because they know they are most often not criminal, wont fight or resist arrest and many of the are otherwse completely normal law abiding citizens. so m=they make great training ground for rookies to practice their tough guy tactics on, and scoring points with their supervisor.
  16. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...gam_mostdiscuss Harper government to unveil get-tough national drug strategy THE CANADIAN PRESS September 29, 2007 at 4:50 PM EDT OTTAWA — Health Minister Tony Clement will announce the Conservative government's anti-drug strategy this week with a stark warning: "the party's over" for illicit drug users. "In the next few days, we're going to be back in the business of an anti-drug strategy," Mr. Clement told The Canadian Press. "In that sense, the party's over." Shortly after taking office early last year, the Conservatives decided not to go ahead with a Liberal bill to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana. Since then, the number of people arrested for smoking pot has jumped dramatically in several Canadian cities, in some cases jumping by more than one third. Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa and Halifax all reported increases of between 20 and 50 per cent in 2006 of arrests for possession of cannabis, compared with the previous year. As a result thousands of people were charged with a criminal offence that, under the previous Liberal government, was on the verge of being classified as a misdemeanour. ... "There hasn't been a meaningful retooling of our strategy to tackle illicit drugs in over 20 years in this country," Mr. Clement said. "We're going to be into a different world and take tackling these issues very seriously because (of) the impact on the health and safety of our kids." ... Mr. Clement has suggested in the past that he opposes so-called harm reduction strategies for combatting illegal drug use, including safe-injection sites where nurses provide addicts with clean needles and a safe place to use drugs. At a Canadian Medical Association meeting last month, he was quoted saying "harm reduction, in a sense, takes many forms. To me, prevention is harm reduction. Treatment is harm reduction. Enforcement is harm reduction." The following day, a petition signed by over 130 physicians and scientists was released, condemning the Conservative government's "potentially deadly" misrepresentation of the positive evidence for harm reduction programs. Vancouver's Insite safe injection clinic is facing a December 31 deadline for the renewal of a federal exemption that allows it to operate. Critics of the Conservative government's approach to illicit drug use say the federal government would be making a serious mistake by failing to renew the exemption. "I think there's very little chance that Mr. Clement will extend the safe injection site's permit to continue," says Dr. Keith Martin, a British Columbia Liberal MP and former substance-abuse physician. "But in doing that they will be essentially committing murder." Advocates say safe-injection sites help to prevent the spread of serious diseases, including AIDS and Hepatitis by preventing users from sharing needles while opponents say the sites simply promote illegal drug use. Dr. Martin says he's all for increasing penalties for people who sell illegal drugs, including gangsters, but wonders why the Tories would want to target users when he says similar strategies in other countries haven't worked. "I can't understand why the Conservatives are embracing a war-on-drugs approach that has proven to fail," he said. "By all means, go after the pushers. By all means, absolutely go after the organized crime gangs that are the real parasites in this situation," he added. "But for heaven's sake, treat the user as a medical problem and adopt the solutions that have proven to work in other countries." ... ok, they are not an offical association but i did read this story almost a week ago... the discrepancy is not a big deal however. but when it comes to matters of health, i would much defer it to the experts, the medical professionals, not the politicians. and here we see that response, hard to find in most of he mainstream stories that there was such an outcry from the professionals. i hope this issue puts a nail in the conservative coffin, when the election time comes canadians should know about their self rightous attitudes, those who want to try the same old tired ways that proved to fail before. as we clearly see in the south, where the drug war is an industry in its own right, with value into the billions of dollars and the destruction of thousands of peoples lives, by harsh punitive measures, mandatory minimums not allowing the judge to consider extenuating circumstances. far more harmful than the effects of the drug itself.
  17. I couldnt answer your poll because, there was no fourth option to "What do you think the punishment for marijuna use should be>", ie, no punishment. or why should there even be a punishment for what is in itself a victimless crime. ever had a drink or two, in the privacy of you own home? so what makes it so special... if you drink a 40 ouncer all at once you will be dead. you simply cant do that with cannabis. pot smokers, who do not harm others, who smoke it in a private place, should not be criminalized. Hey Mr. Harper, leave the pot smokers alone its none of your business! Government has no say in what the people ingest.
  18. John, i agree with you 100% and this fits my description as well. please dont stop fighting the good fight! for the sake of those who truly need it, and those who are wrongly criminalized having commited no real offence, other than taking a drug that was outlawed for completely arbitrary reasons. theres no doubt that cannabis is medicine and the medical association recently wrote the harper government imploring them not to go backwards, down the completely wrong way thats already been proven to be a failure.
  19. hehehe, alright, you take the night shift i'll do the early morning shift... yes, children must play sometimes it seems. but if more of us start coming here we can overrun this forum, bombard them with ideas that blow their fragile minds.. yes the scary cannabis club is here, to turn them all into potheads... mentally, just with our thoughts. those of you who are fearful, be afraid. be very afraid!
  20. Canadica! its good to have another sensible person around here! and thanks for you kind words,
  21. this town needs an enema.
  22. i would have more patience if this "reminder" was not so specific, as it seems to reinforce the idea that you can go ahead and insult whole groups of people, so long as its not a specific member of the forum. the fact that it only mentions "racist" or "bigot", not, "retard", "ignoramus", "pothead", etc is not fair either. i think it sends the message that its ok for these people to continue the way they do. and i know they are volunteers. i am a leader myself in many things and what i see here is a failure of leadership, there will always be antagonists who dont listen to reason, they enjoy being unreasonable and they should simply be ousted at some point if the problem continues. to me thats leadership, you only get so many warnings and then its bye bye. or do they perhaps intend to actually allow these on-going racist bigotted views, and the idea of having to rat somebody out continually, doesnt appeal to me. epscially if nothing is going to be done about it
  23. i am all for having a more civilized discussion, but its just not possible here, it seems. certain people get away with posting messages continually, that are in direct conflic with said "forum rules", yet they dont seem to be held accountable for it, by virtue of the fact that they can continue. i wonder, in the many months before i came here, how often this has gone on without interuption, where childish people are constantly overlooked while others simply have to put up with it? in my first few days i was continually attacked, yet the administrator only comes out when said individals views are called bigoted,,, how about all the other stuff that leads up to it, mr. administrator. how many more chances, just for the sake of keeping members whose worth of contribution is questionable?? so i as new member am asking myself the same question, why bother at all. dont tell me to fill out your report, if you dont see it already, you are the problem.
  24. i only ask that he stop the childishness, not "cute" at all.
  25. again with the insults... do youhave anything meaningful to add
