  1. I would say a just peace between Israel and the Palestinians requires: -Isreal returns to 1967 borders, and all external military supervision, control, etc. to end. -Jerusalem declared international (UN) trust -- 50 yr. administrative control to Israel, renewable. -Jerusalem to be ceremonial capital of any state that wishes to establish its ceremonial capital there, but ceremonial capital is to be operationally meaningless. -Palestinian state established in West Bank and Gaza, compensation funds supplied by 1945 world powers. -Israel to buy titles to Palestinian land and provide compensation in lieu of right of return -- right of return thereby extinguished. -International stabilization force on new Israel-Palestinian borders. -Each government to take on duty to compensate its own civilians for any/alldamages caused by former enemy action, to the extent it deems necessary. Beyond these basics, negotiations regarding economic cooperation, or an exchange of territory (e.g. Palestine to allow closest Israeli settlements to be annexed in exchange for a 'southern corridor' to Gaza.
  2. Why on Earth would Jesus care if this woman is a virgin?
  3. Neo conservatism is all about truth!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The Neo... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! About truth! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ahem. Sorry. Truth ... of course. ... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, sorry. It's just that ... I mean ... truth? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  4. Overheard: Higgly: There's a lot of birds living in the woods. Rue: Higgly, Higgly, Higgly. Your constant misinformation is appalling. You ignore the squirrels... there are 10000 squirrels at least. Higgly: Well, other sources suggest more like 8000 squirrels, but however many there may be, I was pointing out the surplus of birds. Argus: Who cares about the birds! Only squirrel-haters would keep constantly bringing up anything about birds. Higgly: But look ... there are at least 3 kinds of bird visible right there ... I've counted 6 crows, 12 sparrows and 3 jays in just the last half-hour. Rue: Higgly, Higgly, Higgly. Your numerous personal failings disgust me. While you insist on ignoring the squirrels, you fabricate false bird counts. I have reliable information that there were no more than 5 crows, 10 sparrows and 4 jays here at this time two weeks ago. Higgly: That still suggests a lot of birds, irrespective of the numbers of squirrels. Argus: Why you squirrel-hating sumbitch! I oughta... Rue: Higgly, Higgly, Higgly....
  5. I saw that. Japanese scientists also have monitoring devices. Maybe they picked up the test. Might just be a regional muscle flex. If it turns out they have nuclear weapons, it's time to assasinate that wacko holding the button. He's not mentally stable, what saved us from the Russians was MAD, I don't think this guy can be relied upon to rationalise that thought. This may be an apocryphal story, but anyway, I heard that several years ago Russia invite Kim on a grand tour of the eastern SSRs. Kim refuses to fly, so a special luxury train was commissioned for his private use. He was pampered, catered to in every way (including a variety of petty perversions, apparently), and generally shown a really good time. He loved it. This is good news. Kim loves life. He probably loves being boss of his country. This means that whatever his peculiarities, he will wish to avoid his own destruction. Not totally apocryphal I guess: http://nk.chosun.com/english/news/news.htm...amp;res_id=4814
  6. If posters must respect the forum rules, shouldn't forum administrators do so also?
  7. [i made an interesting point here, but I've removed it now because this forum has an admin who treats people very disrespectfully.]
  8. ... If anyone should laugh at something Fig, its your arrogance and the fact that you think you have a monopoly on facts, reason, history and sense. While you prefer a more flexible stance on facts, reason, history and sense ... I guess. How strange. If you don't think you're right, do you think you're wrong? If you don't think you're right, why do you post? What is your point? [ quote]Can we debate facts and not simply make comments that we think we are smarter then other people because there is a universal truth and only some of us know what that truth is. I wish you could.
  9. ...or defending themselves when they are attacked Uh ... no. There's no reason to intervene to prevent it when Israel defends (rather than aggresses). History records that Israel has done each from time to time, despite what propagandists of either stripe might say. Our topic here was Israel attacking Iran to pre-empt its nuclear research, which would be an act of aggression. I'm sorry if I sound pedantic, but your comment suggested an incomprehension at the most basic level.
  10. Poke holes? But you've done nothing of the kind. Good grief!
  11. Well, now that you've finally acknowledged that, perhaps your comments will be more worthwhile in the future. Really? Then you have a lot to learn. Hooey. Higgly's posts are fact-based and well argued. It is clearly you (and Rue) who react emotionally to this subject.
  12. Facts, reason, history, and sense. None of these mean anything in Bushist Likudistan, right President Argus?
  13. Done. Despite the excess of tiresome, unfunny sniping you do, I compared your arguments to Higgly's and found his more convincing. The preponderance of your long-winded posts consist of dilatory appeals to highly subjective and ultimately out-moded and irrelevant historical interpretation, and doesn't meet the issues raised.
  14. Isn't that very sort of aggression a reason Iran would want nukes? If we want a peaceful world, maybe the west should intervene to stop Israel from attacking its neighbors.
  15. This legislation demonstrates the Alliance-Conservatives' propensity to use government power to promote the interests of religion. This law would create special rights for some people (immunity from hate-speech laws and exemption from certain work) based on their religion! Obviously the government has no business giving out special rights. If hateful religious bigots are protected , why not hateful atheist bigots too?
  16. You sound like a typical pinko commie apologist.
