Does GOP subscribe to and support the "liberate Greenland, Panama and Canada" agenda? This is the real question, yes or no and nothing in the middle. Don't even pretend that you're dumb; incredibly naive; blind and deaf or just couldn't care to notice it. This stuff just doesn't fly with the history. It will consume you whole: all of you.

The Greenland row is the final straw: the diagnosis is in and it's clear: the lying Idol has gone mad. Plain and clear, insane. Plain and simple. There's no reason, zero rational causes for any sane individual, not to mention, a leader of a free nation to do what he's doing. None of U.S. presidents has done or said anything approaching that in the modern age. And there's only one reason why he is doing this: to make insanity not just normal and common, but desirable and the standard. Read it from his lips: you'll have to submit to insanity, embrace it if you want to stay. Will you - this question is to you, personally and individually, and it's a clear moral and ethical choice that every individual has to make. There are no explanations and zero excuses. At this point, you cannot control it and it's way beyond the possibility of being managed: don't lie to yourself it will solve nothing. The past shows clearly: these excuses don't work never have. Staying in won't make it any better but will draw you in, smear and sink you. It's he who will manage you - and fully intends to. The choice you have now is very clear from so many records and incidents in history: you can keep your sanity and integrity; or you can participate in the insanity, bear full responsibility for its acts and consequences and put your name with it in the records of history. For everyone to view, wonder and detest. For generations. That's pretty much it. Simple. You knew everything and so there will be no excuses. From the grotesque magnitude of this failure of duty and responsibility, there can be no redemption and I don't see realistic possibilities of coming back.

Democracy stood - then it went to the third world

France warns Trump against threatening sovereign borders of EU (Guardian) Why would anyone have anything to do with a brainless dumbest !diot? Why would they eat and swallow anything coming out of his a$$? A timeless mystery is playing itself out, yet again. Right before our eyes. -
We knew that there are places we shouldn't go. We knew that there things that shouldn't be played with. We thought we have learned it, for a long time or ever, "never again". But no: the entropy takes its own. A few quick generations flew by and we forgot. And so, we're back to the task: the lessons must be relearned. The decisions, made again. And no future is assured and guaranteed because it has to be remade. Now, by us and our choices. No unquestionable postulates. No "never again". No presumed for all time "leaders of the free world". No staunch and infallible alliances. No guaranteed prosperity or who knows, even survival. The right to the future is earned and gained. It has been the law of the universe around us since the first glimpses of its beginning - but we wanted to forget it, paint in our minds a different story. And the reality always catches up. The simple truth is, the future will be that which we chose, and make: again and now, with our choices. No guarantees, the presumed rights to happy tunes and non-stop parties are fading in the back, fast. The future is wide open. It won't be any different, not a grain from what we choose and make it, now.

Name one reason why would anyone sane and with a single working cell in the brain want to do that, ever? Add for a bonus "now". Yet the reason exists: this is how he's lining up his following, so they jump and cheer to whatever comes out of his lying mouth, or at least, silent like mice. "Liberate Greenland and Panama" Republicans are you still there? This is your leader speaking, no mistake? Can you seriously hope to come out of this sh*t after four years like nothing happen? Could you even look in the mirror and not hate the image, after what you've done and will do, in this tenure? "Will not go down well with his base", wanna tell it to Hitler or Putin? Because note, the talk is the same already, all caught up. The bottom line: stupidity has a price tag. The line was crossed, by carefree irresponsibility and bandwagon arrogance that should have never been. Someone will have to pay and the reality always looks after that.

Democracy stood - then it went to the third world
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
If you have eyes and one working brain cell you would know what has just happened. It's a done deal and no smart or dumb talking can take it away. Done deal. We pay for stupid choices it's a law of nature. -
Democracy stood - then it went to the third world
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Pretending dumb won't fix anything and couldn't get America out of this conundrum it decided to put itself in. Entropy works in one direction. And it means, with certainty that the next precedent will be worse. -

No denying the obvious: presidents subverting democratic elections is one of the most common stories in the third world politics. This is what it looks. This is what it is. -
Democracy stood - then it went to the third world
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
We will now have to wait for the release of the subversion case report. A president who allegedly tried to subvert a democratic election, that's a story strait out of the newsfeed of a common third-world "democracy". But remember: there's nothing here we didn't know. It was a conscious and deliberate choice. -
Maybe you're forgetting precedents in history, wishfully? The loudmouth throat will have to paint perspectives of greatness (where? by what?) in the increasing proportion too, being ideological ponzi scheme and his base will eat anything coming out of any of his orifices because even those who had a grain of reason and independent thought traded it all away, voluntarily and gladly, for an illusion, phantom of greatness. With this kind of setting "never" of anything is at best an uncertain bet. Too many precedents.

Poor eyesight? Challenged comprehension? Let's see: The right to elect mob boss as the leader ... This is a fact now. The precedent, set for generations or until the system is remade which is as far as one could see, never. What's to not see? How, to not understand? -
Trump declines to rule out using military force to control Greenland and Panama Canal (The Guardian) Before the eyes of Putins and Xis of the world. Yes they could. Sure, they did. But: there's no avoiding the consequences of our choices and actions. Democracy is not a numb wall into which we could throw any sh*t and it just has to take it in, voicelessly, and still work. The reality will catch up, always does. The balance: someone will have to pay. Someone will pay.

Democracy stood - then it went to the third world
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Let's understand, objectively and factually what we're dealing with here: a near-accomplished degradation, decay of democracy. 1. One part of the political system thinks its perfectly fine to nominate and have as leader an individual showing progressive cognitive decline and hide it by all means from their colleagues and the country. This is Russia stuff, Brezhnev - why less, and nobody thought there could be anything wrong about it, why we have this great democracy and isn't it supposed to just work no matter what we do and throw at it? Just this once? The other part thought nothing of nominating a pathological liar, failed politician and a convicted felon as the candidate to the leader of the state, formerly in the position of the leader of the free world. Nope, no clue. What could go wrong? 2. The populace (formerly citizenry) that thinks nothing wrong with electing a mob boss if he/she makes the right promises and because it doesn't like the other (only) choice. 3. Justice system is done - if the populace upholds the mob boss he has to be in the right and the justice has to go. All hail the glory. 4. Formal political system deadlocked in extreme ultimate partisanship - no more independent investigations, forget impartiality and integrity all things of the past. 5. Judiciary: on the way, still standing. But will one institution hold the tide, could it even theoretically? No way. This much we already know from history. The final stage of the decay is on the way. Only factually and objectively. It took entropy 228 years give or take a few to wear down another great democracy. Not bad but neither the best. Another line, in the long and growing list. -
There's nothing to celebrate here: that was a watershed moment, in the entire two and half century history of American democracy where it crossed the line and boundary on its path to the third world. Shouting bread and circuses is not freedom of expression, not all of it and by far. The right to elect mob boss as the leader of the people is not the whole of functional democracy that also includes integrity, reason, critical thought and responsibility. Today, democracy in America was failed. It was failed by the political elites, entrenched in their own, partisan interest forgetting all about why they were elected and what were they supposed to serve. Then, people looked at the sad spectacle for a while and finally decided to follow the suit. They failed democracy too. Where and when no one is upholding it any longer, democracy exits. The line has been crossed and there's no easy coming back from here - I can't even imagine what it could be. No formal rules could fix this - they already failed, all, one by one. What then? Yet another confirmation of the logical and factual truth tested by humankind countless times in the long history. Democracy is not a gift, no heavenly revelation. It's a product of thought and work of free citizens and it will stay only as long as they continue. The torch burns with the thought, will and energy of free, thinking and responsible citizens. Today, it left America.

He/him she/her etc: what is the meaning?

Yes, that is my rule. And what would be yours? Be "nice" or else? -
He/him she/her etc: what is the meaning?
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Michael either you lost me or deliberately twisting what was said and we all were convinced that you're way above that. I'm not explaining anything to anyone it was the other way around: I'm trying to avoid having to explain/show etc anything to anyone in a public space reserved for communications on certain subject that has nothing to do with sexual orientation, about the orientation. So I'm not explaining anything only communicating about research topic or project schedule, matters that have nothing, exactly nil to do with my sex and so I'm not mentioning it, leaving it out of picture so to say. And you don't have to - but surely can, do feel free if so obliged. But the moment you try to imply that there's any obligation or expectation for others to do that as folks here stated quite clearly - you'll have to explain the reason. No it's not "nice" to ask people to stand on one foot bending backwards without explaining why. What seems to be so hard to understand here? -
Breaking News: Trudeau expected to resign Monday.

"Fair" is relative too. Does it help transparency and accountability of entrenched governments? Does it make them more effective and efficient in the modern world? That's another - and entirely objective story. -

myata replied to NAME REMOVED's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
By the way another gimmick of the 17th century political system that has very little if not plain nothing to do with democracy in the modern age. Why should a government that has screwed up or is in trouble instead of facing accountability be allowed to throw things up in the air? Does it make any sense, in this age? -
He/him she/her etc: what is the meaning?
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Blabbering won't get you on the nice list with imaginary Santas. If your definition of nice means that everyone around should be balancing on one foot while bending backwards then my definition would be quite different: arrogant; preposterous; unintelligent (the mild form of the term) and simply no way. The take: nicety is relative, and no heavy calculus needed. -
A critique of Poilievre Peterson interview

Remember, they just worshiped a bombastic liar and convicted petty criminal as the source of purest ultimate wisdom. OMG. Nowhere is safe anymore. Reason, the endangered trait in this intelligent species. -
He/him she/her etc: what is the meaning?
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Always do what is 'nice' (branded for you) or 'ornery'? And where did critical thinking just fly? Careful with that idea of nicety. But that's exactly how it happens. No one is safe. Supreme goodness is no protection as we know. -
He/him she/her etc: what is the meaning?
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There are different definitions of "nice". When and if someone suggests to you that standing on one foot bending backwards is "nice" because that's what they like or need to do you can say, simply: no. That's not the meaning of the word, for me and in my definition. You're free to keep yours though and keep doing what you like or need. What you aren't free to do is to assume that it can be imposed on others just because you used some nice word. -
He/him she/her etc: what is the meaning?
myata replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There can be no reasonable expectation that any problem or issue can be formulated in one sentence. I did it in three. Yes there can be a real problem if we allow perhaps well meaning or else self-serving and ideologically driven agendas propagate into public space without discussion and checks and then possibly extended to presumed norms or even policies. Yes a sound society has to be careful about that. No problem whatsoever for any private expression. But when an agenda is promoted in a public space including workspace that's when questions should be raised.
