  1. A new poll by the CBC finds an overwhelming majority of BC residents support the BCTF and teachers. This is no surprise and the level of support will only increase as the residents of BC realize how under funded BC public education is. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/b-c-teachers-strike-schools-closed-as-talks-resume-1.2677897
  2. The BC Liberals didn't even attempt to bargain this weekend. They won't stand a chance next election after these shenanigans and this attack on public education. Conditions in BC schools are abysmal.

  3. Then why is CUPE standing side by side with the BCTF. I'll tell you why. It's called solidarity. We look out for each other against the corporatists who want to privatize everything. I was happy to see many NDP MLAs speak out against the LIberals showing support for public education, and realizing how bad conditions are in BC schools.
  4. Well here you go folks. The BCTF came to the table willing to bargain for a fair deal in good faith and the Liberals had no intent of settling this. I'm really impressed with Jim Iker. He's trying but the BC government isn't. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/b-c-teachers-strike-50-chance-of-deal-says-minister-1.2676400
  5. The twitter feed means a lot. You posted a bunch of BC that isn't true. Your side has very little support. Try again.
  6. I know the haters here, PCT, Hydraboss, overthere, Bryan, and others won't want to see the awesome things BC teachers are doing for kids. But for those of you who want to see he great work teachers are doing, check this out. https://twitter.com/hashtag/thisismystrikepay?src=hash This has gone viral. Absolutely amazing stuff!!!!
  7. Now your an expert in Manitoba. Consider Manitoba's child poverty rates and you begin to understand the problems. Apparently they are still trying to climb out of problems caused by that province's Conservative government of the late 90s. Conservatives....go figure.
  8. Bryan, look in Manitoba how great it is that the government supports teachers. That is all BC teachers want, a government that cares about education.
  9. The BCTF is making concessions to get back to the classroom.
  10. I know teachers in Ontario fought hard to prevent Hudak from getting elected. This is what solidarity is all about. at least Ontario teachers won't have to go through what BC teachers are dealing with. The added stress BC teachers are feeling disgusts me.
  11. How? You have no clue what is going on here. Check out https://twitter.com/hashtag/thisismystrikepay?src=hash for a dose of reality and an idea who really cares about kids. Open your mind and leave your ignorance at the door for once.
  12. Hmmm, I wonder if you are paid by the BCLIBS to troll this forum? You seem to have a lot of inside information for an average citizen. Also, it is reported that the BCTF lowered wage demands. They are trying to get back to work and they are making all the concessions. If a deal is made, it will be because of the BCTF and there concern for kids.
  13. Take a look at how corporations pay almost no tax in BC. You running out of excuses yet? http://politicsrespun.org/2010/10/corporations-already-pay-virtually-no-tax-in-bc/#sthash.IDZoN8Jx.sUXQZUFl.dpbs
  14. This should hit home for you PCT. Actual people telling how cuts to education have hurt them. Pay close attention. http://www.rosslandnews.com/news/261996641.html
  15. Nope. Because the BCTF is concerned about kids. Look at all the support the BCTF is getting from the public, and it's increasing everyday as the public becomes educated about how under funded BCED is. The government is starting to realize that they have been wrong. I expect a deal soon.
  16. The BCTF has come out with a new proposal to jumpstart negotiations. This is an indicator that the BCTF is the serious party trying to find a solution to this lockout. The BCTF is proving to be flexible. Let's see if the government is flexible. The BCTF is trying their hardest to get learners back into the classrooms. http://globalnews.ca/news/1393339/new-teachers-proposal-jumpstarts-bargaining/
  17. No, they won't leave Canada and work in the USA. The USA is going downhill. Obama hasn't been able to clean up the mess Bush left him.
  18. You are an American where public education has been destroyed by corprotists. All americans care about are high stakes testing that damages students. No wonder the usa is declining. Destroy public education and watch society decay. Luckily Canadians are smarter.
  19. The BC government funds public education $1000/pupil less than the national average. Teachers are spending thousands of dollars equipping their classrooms because of under-funding. It's a disgrace.
  20. read here hydraboss. You take absolutely no time to understand the issues. Read these. https://twitter.com/search?f=realtime&q=%23bced%20&src=typd
  21. More proof that BC public is siding with teachers. Boy, this must make you and hydraboss mad as hell. http://www.insightswest.com/news/british-columbians-parents-siding-with-teachers-in-dispute/
  22. Quite a while ago I predicted a Wynne majority. Right again.

I had a Hudak minority to show. That's a wager ticket I'm happy is worthless.

  23. Take a look at what BC classrooms look without stuff bought by teachers with THEIR OWN MONEY!! Another great visual showing the under-funding of public education in BC. It amazes me how clueless the teacher bashers are. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/06/12/bc-classroom-photos-teachers-strike_n_5489576.html?1402612360&utm_hp_ref=canada
  24. Actually, the Ontario election results is a ringing endorsement of unions including teacher unions. The BC government is in for aa rude wake up call and they better bring something decent to the table THIS WEEKEND.
  25. Happy Wynne won. I know she will be respectful of Ontario teachers and make up for Dalton's mistakes.
