  1. No it is not. Good God man slow down and find out why.
  2. He did not say it's no worse than the flu..that is your construct using words such as "worse" or "better"when comparing death rates. In the sense he uses it all viruses are equally as problematic or what you call "worse". He is trying to explain the current covid virus death rates are not higher than other virus deaths...the issue as to the covid virus is not that it kills more but that it is harder to detect so presents with the more likelihood of bottlenecks at hospitals. Those bottlenecks are being avoided and hopefully this covid virus will decrease in the next 4 or 5 weeks otherwise different protocols other than staying home will have to be considered as shutting down the economy will cause far more deaths and damage. The rates are stabilizing in Spain, Italy and New York City. You and many others are reacting to the news of the moment that presents you an immediate vision of death rate of one virus.. on the other hand you do not see the other deaths from other viruses that have continued..so the media is distorting your perspective of the covid virus making it seem higher. It's not.. it is just the one the media concentrates on and shows you every day. Think about it. People continue to die and would have died of illnesses and viruses other than covid and you do not see them. Then there are deaths lumped in as covid deaths erroneously. These are cases where someone was destined to die whether they got the virus or not. They did not die because infections piggy backed on to covid virus. They were there already or would still have come without the virus....however as long as the person who dies has covid in those cases the media erroneously defines them as covid deathswhich is inaccurate and inflates the covid death rate. Inflated high death rates of covid from lack of accurate reporting of the true death from other illnesses that would have killed the person with covid whether they got the virus or not is a distortion caused by the news media most are oblivious too. As well the media uses reported cases of covid as the base number to then determine the death rate of covid notvta actual number of covid cases which is much higher. So this further inflates the death rate because using the actual case rate would lower the number of deaths per case. The media further focuses on death and negative stories speculating of more deaths ccand worse things to come not stories showing recovery, no need for treatment, decreasing death rates, increasing recovery rates, places where bottlenecks have been avoided. Often never stated the virus would be over in a week in New York.He has argued with some of us that anxiety caused by the lockdown and access to negative media distortion creates frames of reference as to the extent and nature of covid that make it appear "worse" than it actually is. Also people when truly frightened or anxious see their fear as an inalienable right to maintain and defend. It is a variation of Stockholm Syndrome. We have been taken hostage by a virus. The longer it holds usvhostage the more we believe we are powerless to escape from it..and will defend yourvbelief it has power over us. This is why abused people stay with their abusers when they did not have to or holocaust survivors sat in paralysis in camps refusing to leave after the Nazis left. That is what fear does. It replaces rational thought with paralysis. Fear paralyzes us by preventing us from thinking and rendering us overwhelmed. In that sense we have a collective trauma or fear spreading in our society about covid amplified by the lockdown. The most effective way to treat this trauma is to challenge fear of covid and present positive alternative frames of reference to the negative ones when discussing the covid virus.
  3. Sorry your platform is not necessarily centralist. It is a hodge podge of reactions lamenting a return to a childhood where things seemed more understandable and safer. So I agree with Monsieur Harder.
  4. Might be people do see the same failures in Trudeau, Trump, Dr. Tam, whoever, but don't need an apology because they realize with some issues even the smartest people make mistakes or have no perfect aswers so there aint no point pissin on a man or woman trying to do their best. Regards, Will Rogers
  5. Zero disagreement to your comments just the degree of interpretation you gave them as applied to what he was getting at. He wasn't equating shells to droplets...lol why am I defending Dougie...he thinks I am an Eskimo communist....again ..appreciate your well stated positions and defer to their content. You and Pinky I appreciate for your efforts. Hope some others do but as you can see sometimes well we just don't get an audience that gets the jokes. Happens. Betsy will come around she just needs a rum cocktail and a smidgeon of gin seng. By the way how the hell can we clean up wet markets around the world..I just do not see that happening and so I hop the pendelum of global trade swings back to more domestically regulated markets that offer us more sanitary protectionl. Then again many people revert back to the same habits soon after a crisis is over. Spent sometime with addicts. I see some of the stuff you see as behavioural and therefore avoidable if we change behaviour which means for me helping people challenging fear not feed it. So many phobias..so little time to address them in comedy routines. Regards, H. Youngman
  6. I agree with all you say and again thank you for adding to the discussion with valuable facts but express some minor hesitation to you precisely because of my respect for you and knowing you will not take it the wrong way. First, I believe the size of the droplets you speak of may not be understood by the person they are intended for or others without further context because I would remind you when people feel threatened or anxious as they are with this virus, they are prone to be triggered by their sense of powerlessness, anxiety and feeling threatened to exaggerate or amplify the size, nature and extent of the threat (virus). Also with due respect I believe you misrepresented what Dougie said. Soldiers learn projectile patterns from explosives, bullets, toxic gas, and witnessing spray from blood, vomit and other bodily fluids. They have knowledge of masks and other protective gear. Thanks but as much as I respect science, doctors and you and your well stated answer, I must respect what Dougie said and defend it. He only was stating that droplet movement has a pattern governed by gravity.
  7. Lol, this is fun. I am obsessed with my prostate does that count? My hands are average size. Seriously everyone have a nice day I am gonna walk me dawgs. Wes do not burn down anything until I get back.
  8. Yes I agree that is one hell of a stupid question. You probably made some stupid assumption that then triggered it. Hey we all can do that. No worries.
  9. Chocolate ice cream solves all problems.
  10. No but your ability to understand metaphors probably never existed so you won't understand if I say stop being a wombat.
  11. No he is no traitor but he has a tendency to behave and talk like a rude asshole and inconsistently and contradictorily at a time when he should be calm and focused. His handling of the US navy issue creates serious security issues.
  12. Oh hell no we are plentiful. We procreate like rats.
  13. Getting accountability for any government decisions made on the fly is like asking who owns the baseball that broke your window..ironically as well politicians already hide behind masks..oops another platypussian comment...
  14. Yah and we are assholes for not liking assholes. I like chocolate ice cream.
  15. I do not blame Americans for errors Trump or others made. I do challenge Trump acting like an asshole when he does and anyone justifying his being an asshole when he does they like asshole behaviour. However think understanding Trump is best left to a proctologist.
  16. Endless platitudes..it's my gift for humanity...as for your endless love for Trump it's funny especially when you try fart like him....oops there I go again being a platypus.
  17. China is rotting from within.. It created a pyramid predator economic system totally dependent on controlling its currency on world markets to create trade deficits and debts in its favour againstvghd West by price dumping and selling shit to us because of our own short sighted Greece. In so doing it has exposed the myth that trade can be free. The economic shut down in the West will now mean much of the debt China creates in others in favour of itself will now never be collected and so its economy will not be able continue to grow like it has which in turn will trigger unemployment and a revolution from within.. Hong Hong and this virus are early warning signs of its impending turmoil even though it's people return to work in the same infected markets continuing to spit, piss and shit on anything they eat or sell It's own wet markets infected the very blood it needs to suck and live off of . China and its puppet oil slave Russia may feel any economic competitor other than one owned by China or the Russian mob is the enemy but they are their own worst enemies and they fear their own people and revolutions from within far more than we neurotic Westerners fear viruses and think totalitarian regimes will save us from the zombie appocolypse. The insatiable appetite of China to sell so it can consume at all costs had triggered a Tsunami gaining momentum and circling its way back to swamp them. Trump is a flatulent Ferrengi, Putin a joke of a Klingon leader, the Chinese just Borg with a major malfunction and Trudeau is Jar Jar Binks. That of corse makes you Lt. O'hoora. Regards, WC Fields
  18. Get back to me when you figure out airborne is not an American war movie starring Ronnie Reagan and the Rock...no not Dwayne.. Mr. Hudson.
  19. Sounds like beavers bother you...lol...they'z just cute furry things you know....now mind you I hear your people love eating river rats in Moscow...go figure..but who am I to judge what your people eat..you mix me up with you...
  20. I hope he knows yer mooning him..they don't call you moonlight for the hell of it...geez if he spends it on a sex trade worker he would have to wear a mask and gloves...better off spending it on Jack Daniel's, lemon juice, crushed ice, a Corona ( the beer man not the virus) to the side and listen to some Janis Joplin.
  21. You have been on a roll for two weeks. Some fine pros. You have evolved tremendously in expressing yourself. Kudos. You have gone from rigid and dogmatic to creative, tolerant and variable in your presentations. God damn it but I like when someone proves me wrong.
  22. Kind of sad..I mean worrying people might not be hateful....
  23. Get off Dialamah's back. Trump has been in a mental melt down now for 3 consecutive days.
  24. I have three dogs. Rescued all 3. Know what you mean. All 3 came with trauma issues. The fearful one...you know...is just being like Betsy...you just gotta know lol when to stay back.
