  1. When Harper has 10% more trust than the MEDIA,,, I think that resonates with the Majority of Canadian.. And 6 Percent more thrust than the opposition??? Thats all i needed to see. Harper is MORE trustworthy
  2. I really LIKE how he's reforming immigration! Picking and choosing the RIGHT candidates for immigration is A-OK by me and the MAJORITY of Canadians! JaCee... it really seems like he has the support of CANADIANS! And please note: "16 per cent of Canadians place 'a lot of trust' in their Prime Minister",,, Is it maybe 40% percent of Canadians that simply "Have trust" in the Prime minister? wouldnt that make it 56 percent with trust in the PM?? Your slanted view on polling and Blogs is noted.. ALSO from the poll: The levels of trust are also low for the Canadian Parliament (17 per cent), political parties (10 per cent) and mass media (6 per cent). The findings come after Canada lived under a series of minority governments from 2004 to 2011, fuelling a sense of growing partisan bickering in Ottawa. Since trust for Harper was at 16% for "ALOT of trust",, it would be fair to say that the other parties are at 10% (Mulcair)... Seems fitting
  3. Michael, I have raised this already and you have glossed over it. Please do counter my following proposal: In contract negotiations in THIS round... The Government can KEEP current pay-plans/compensation plans (Keep pay flat for 1 year with an agreed upon increase of say 1.5% next year ,maybe even 2,,, WITH the agreement that teachers will be Graded 2 times per year with possible repercussions should the teacher perform poorly.. i.e summer-school for the teachers. With the agreement on pay increase, they will ALL be required to perform after hours duties (As they do now) with no possibility of action as we are seeing now.. A fair wage for fair work.... This would alow the teacgers to continue with the greed but alow the taxpayer to get what they pay for.. a QUALITY instructor at a Quality wage.. With NO fear of repercussions as we are seeing now... Safety and child welfare should always come first.... Yes, Please do counter my point. A side-note, now our children are in harms way... : “In secondary schools, inadequate supervision can result in an increase in bullying, vandalism, assaults, behavioral issues, theft, graffiti, drug activity, truancy and verbal abuse,” warned council president Ken Arnott. “If supervision is withdrawn, or if on-calls for absent teachers are not covered, schools will not be safe places for learning.”
  4. This is a "Poll" where it seems the proof is in the pudding.. i.e- A Majority.. Voters handed him a Majority because he is THE BEST as keeping finances in order and dealing with trade partners and economic growth.. I dont trust him to do the "right thing" when it comes to the middle east... But thats VERY low on my list of priorities... Harper says what he means and does what he sais..
  5. Well, Other than supllying the grade 10 and 11 Elecronics classe with supplies like Parts cabinets, soldering irons, materials out of my companies pocket, no.. Well i did also connect them with a mentor program at Devry.., but thats all i could do.. IM fearmongering? Have a look at what the Unions are doing? Again, You are now ok with the lack of teacher/parent meetings? After the report card thing? Simply answer me that
  6. Horvath would "flip flop" on her gender if it meant a vote. NDP don't have a chance in he'll in Ontario.
  7. So secondary students are just that.......Secondary? Way to stand up for children.... Again, back to my original post... Teachers are refusing to see parents! Again Jacee.... These are not accusations.... Just like I believed they would eliminate parent teacher nights.... What's next from this radical bunch of terrorists? Teachers calling children scabs is not a far stretch now. Again, so you are okay with the teachers avoiding the parent nights now? Change of heart or are you okay as it's high school students now? Oh, your "I do hope that can be arranged" is very comforting... Hopeful.
  8. Yes jacee... It's wide-spread teacher manipulation of all students.... Not just pre-school... It's grade school and high school... This is why I posted the topic. Maybe not all students and children are equal to you? So you are okay with no teacher parent/parent meetings now? Ahhhhhhhhh yes... I'm sure u are. All in favor of neglecting children in favor of the union say "eye"! Shame
  9. Ahem... The star called it "work to rule"..... Maybe u know more than them? It's adolescence hijacking.. Take it up with the star if you don't like the terminology. Ooooh... Not a "full work to rule" as you say... Would you be fully content when the teachers shout "SCAB" at the students, Micheal? Is that full work to rule? Maybe threaten grades for those high school students who do not support the cause? Is that "full work to rule"? Yes, maybe they will talk to parents during school hours? On their lunch breaks? um yea.... Maybe during their classes? Yes, I'm sure they will find a way to talk to a parent with a child that recieved a single sentence report card that read "child performs poorly"... Yes Michael, I'm pissed off... I care for my child's education.... It's poor parents that allows this crappie to happen... Since the "70's".... 73 percent of Canadians want this stopped... Time to stop it
  10. http://www.thestar.c...o-rule-campaign Toronto’s public high school teachers began a “selective” job action this morning in response to a controversial bill. After postponing for five days of negotiation, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation did not reach an agreement with the Ontario government regarding Bill 115. “OSSTF/FEESO is open to further discussions at both the provincial and local levels; however, at this time, no further talks are scheduled,” it said in a news release sent out early Monday. As a result, Toronto District School Board teachers will not fill in for absent teachers, talk to parents after hours or take part in provincial standardized tests. The TDSB is one of 20 school boards in Ontario taking part in the protest. By only performing their legislated duties, teachers are protesting Bill 115, which freezes wages, cuts sick days and benefits, and limits their collective bargaining rights. The bill also gives the government the right to step in quickly if teachers go on strike So they leave many questions in Parents minds on how thier child is progressing on the Progress reports and now REFUSE to talk to Parents? Many posters here commented that if a parent had a concern over the progress report being a single sentence,, they could talk to the "Teacher"..... Seem that argument went out the Window allong with the Childs right to an education! Jacee: "If parents want more info, they can book an interview with the teacher"-Seems they CANT! Your position now? Jacee: "I always think it's more important what involved parents think"- PArents are no longer able to be involved MadMax: "Just had Parent Teacher interviews here." - NOt any more! Your Position now? Mighty AC: "How are report cards with terse comments and the option of an in person interview "effecting the Students ability to learn"? _ No more "Option".. Care to comment ? MiddleClassCenterist: "I have not seen fair headlines from the MSM. "TEACHERS REFUSE TO TALK TO PARENTS"- Well NOW U HAVE! SImply sickening....
  11. Oooo yes, Michael, lets simply forget, no.... lets "gloss over" Sick-day saccumulating into hundreds of millions and un-realistic pensions for your young retirees... Yes Michael, the UNION is reallly working with us.. Why dont you look at ALL of the facts as opposed to being spoon-fed from your union comrades... But lets not stray how the teachers are impacting our youth and thier right to an education.... Again Michael, that is why this post was started... And, enough with the name calling....
  12. Um yea, They ARE asking them to help reduce costs!!! F-That! Sustain costs vie a wage freeze and teh answer is NO! Im sorry you fell like your "getting beat up"...... Its almost over....
  13. Ahhhhh,, like the 75 Percent in the link?? Those Involved parents???? Or myself??? Ooo, and yes, I have 2 degrees... Mechanical engineering as well and Electronics Engineering.. Im not anti-union... Im anti Teachers union and Public service Unions....
  14. Umm Micheal. I started this thread...I dont need any "backing up".... Sorry you feel "attacked" for your position And..... If a teacher gets "graded", and shows poor performance, he/she could face action such as "summer school"... maybe a pay-cut? Ultimatly, maybe get fired..... It seems 75 percent of Canadians arent really enjoying the hostage taking tactics of the Unions... Its umm..... "In the Poll"... Yes, Michael... I am angry! Enjoy the poll and article...
  15. Now THAT is what i call PROOF!!! Nice find.... Can you let the CBC know?
  16. Ahhh yes... so YOUR polls are accurate?! Got it Michael...... Your "TV poll" is accurate??? Got it... Ohhh, and your "Post a poll" Here: http://www.northumbe...splay&sid=17013 Some commenbts from it cuz you wont read it.. Canadians appear to favour a situation where teachers are prevented from striking. Seven in ten (71%) ‘agree’ (36% strongly/35% somewhat) that ‘teachers should be considered an essential service – and therefore should not have the right to strike’. Three in ten (29%) ‘disagree’ (8% strongly/21% somewhat) with the idea of designating teachers an essential service. Residents of Saskatchewan and Manitoba (76%), Ontario (74%), and Quebec (73%) are most likely to agree that teachers shouldn’t have the right to strike since they provide an essential service. Canadians also believe that teachers should not only be giving out grades but receiving them also. Three quarters (77%) ‘agree’ (31% strongly/46% somewhat) that ‘teachers should be graded by principals, parents and students on their effectiveness’, while one quarter (23%) ‘disagree’ (5% strongly/17% somewhat) with this point of view. Albertans (83%), Ontarians (81%), and Atlantic Canadians (81%) are most likely to agree that teachers should be graded on their effectiveness. YEa, a "poll".... Now go outside your room and ask a neighbor...
  17. Hes doing better than the other councilors!!! Hes getting my vote
  18. ITs called BYOD (Bring your Own Device)... of the 17,500 who have been offered the BYOD,, 17,300 (200 Fish and game guys) have remained with Blackberry BTW... I wont begin to talk about the mobile viruses on both iOS and Android.....
  19. Soooo Michael, You are in FULL support of your Union buddies.. Bleeding more and more money from our briken system,, Well, sounds like broken since 1973??? But you are AGAINTS anyone standing up to this brutal invasion of a students right to learn. Yes, Sounds like your UNIONS are the ones mistreating, manipulating and depressing the rest of society. Not all Unions Michael,. The Bricklayers union, trades and other are A-OK in m y books.. The TEachers Union and Public service Unions should be dismantled... piece by piece,, You think im the "Only One" pissed off? Have a look at the comment in the Toronto Star today.... A massive Majority have had ENOUGH! And No Michael, thats not fake.....
  20. Yes, Its a great improvement...... They are only effecting the Students ability to learn or be mentored now as opposed to "Soccer" practice. Im glad your teacher friends have the students priorities in Order. We should probably thank these hard workn' teachers.... Yes, they are doing a GREAT job now.. PS: Why does a disagreement with your position always amount to "Empty rhetoric" and "from the extreme right? I can assure you ALL of the young adults with families in my neighborhood are in 100 percent agreement! Empty rhetoric my butt.... Shall i call your position "socialist lefty tail coddling"??? Why not leave the names and false accusations out of it. Its MY opinion and stance thanks very much
  21. This is especially bad with RIM closing the Technical support and "I-T" facility just last month... 700 Jobs... The NDP, regardless of provincial or Federal, have NO clue... Financial management? Economics? Hell no,,, Only if its Union jobs..
  22. http://www.thestar.c...et-report-cards Principals are holding back on submitting Report-Cards due to the lack of comment... Of coarse the leftist "Star" continues to state the comment could be something like "student progressing well". Now how would a parent fell if that comment was "Student not progressing well" ?? The teachers protest is impacting Parents and Students more and more... My neighbors (4 families covering 3 schools with 9 students enroled) have asked for joint "Teacher and Principal" meetings for thier children and the Principals have agreed to meet.... They will be voicing the poor performance of the teachers over-all... Why not start a PARENT protest and shut these terrorists down??
  23. Im REALLY REALLY very sorry you dont agree with my opinion... Now move on
  24. Wrong choice... It will be 4 more years of no growth in the US and 8% un-employment. REAL jobs will not be created but government will balloon.. We wont be shipping anything to the states.... ITs a sad state of affairs when what was once a prosperouse relationship crumbles and continues to crumble. I dont like Romney personally but he would have been much better for Canada. Good thing Steve Harper is looking elsewhere for trade... He has his priorities straight...
  25. Union strife and a rediculous corporate tax rate... Ontario is killing canada slowly with its tax rate.. And Quebec is trying to kill us IMMEDIATLY.. With the Unions making it almost impossible to condut business.... why WOULD anyone want to invest in Canada?!?!?!
