New laws for young drivers?
blueblood replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Adults drive careless too, in fact probably more adults drink and drive than kids do, that's how it is in my town. Should we put everybody on restrictions to even the playing field. I've also seen 40 year old men have even childish behavior in rush hour traffic, road rage anyone. Yes lets have inexperienced 22 year olds driving, jeez. Then they'll want to pass laws dealing with it. Here's a novel idea, drive properly or end up road pizza. -
in 1970-71, which gov't was in power? How do tax cuts and gov't spending contribute to a recession. Sorry that's completely wrong. All gov't spending and tax cuts do is make for an unbalanced budget. The United States is a perfect example of this. The only thing the tories will blame the Liberals for is pet project spending and high taxes like they always do. The recession has to do with US lawmakers forcing banks to give shady loans to poor people. Nice try if PMPM got re-elected or Dion got in and kept their promises, we'd probably be in worse shape.

New laws for young drivers?

Drinkings different because the body isn't fully developed. Driving can be learned at around 12, people can learn better when they are younger and it's more time to get experience. -
Only to vote him off the island... 5 bucks to the person who creates the poll...

Don't forget to mention tory ads calling Layton a hypocrite for saying he wants to work with parliament and then voting no all the time. For someone crying its my way or the highway about Harper, Layton should look in the mirror. Copps on MDL ripped apart Brad Lavigne (sp?) on this same issue. Does the NDP want an election in tough economic times? Layton has to explain that to his constituents.

Did high gas prices trigger a global recession?
blueblood replied to Wild Bill's topic in Business and Economy
Except your oil merchants spend their wealth paying shareholders and looking for and processing more oil. Quit taking all the tinfoil, your causing the aluminum merchants to gouge the poor people and are affecting machinery prices. -
Agreed, Harper chucked this issue under the bus where it will never come up again. Gays can get married, who cares? I don't. Churches can tell them to fly a kite if they want. Everybody's happy, next issue please.

How about no nuke. We have finally found a use for the USS Missouri World War 2 battleship.

New laws for young drivers?

the solution is for kids to smarten the hell up or end up as road pizza like the rest of the drivers on the road. I'd say lower the driving age for kids so they have more experience by the time they are 18. Farm kids can drive by the time they are 12, loaded semis by the time they are 16. Experience makes better drivers, not age. -

And they wonder why rural people scoff at city people, keep passing laws like this pissing off rural Canadians. Good way to put the kibosh on designated drivers for kids as well. Tougher drunk driving laws would have made the trick, but oh no, they have to go after law abiding citizens. Punishing everyone because of a few idiots, its the Liberal way!!! -
hence the huge risk. it would be "easier" to be kingmaker in a 3 person race with 2 heavyweights. dom has a hard choice to make.
-
I think cruise ships are different because they transport people and for some reason they think guns are necessary to have on board in case of an emergency, more to do with passenger security, I think.
-
Or docking the USS Missouri off the coast of Eyl and conducting battery drills...
-
wouldn't that help him gain more power in the party by being a kingmaker for the next time around?
-
That's a better answer. Time and again there are "leftists" who are all about Obama and say "oh its alright if he goes to church, he won't impose legislation based on his beliefs" and in the same breath will go "its not alright if Harper goes to church, he will impose legislation based on his beliefs" WTF, that sounds like a double standard does it not. Judge the people based on their policies. I actually "support" Obama based on his ag policies that are beneficial to grain farmers, it helped him win his first primary. He also knows that free trade is good to the US and won't shoot the golden goose. I thought McCain would win though and was wrong. I liked McCains foreign policy, but didn't like him picking a wingnut such as Palin.

That's what happens when we have navies around the world tip toeing around this issue. What would happen if warships started putting pirate ships to the bottom of the ocean?
-
I think Leblanc is in it to be kingmaker. He has a hard choice to make. Dominic is skating on thin ice.

dancer figured the Libs and Cons had somewhat similar platforms and he isn't partisan. I'm elaborating on it. Harper hasn't imposed any legislation based on religion and in fact has threw his religious wing of the party under the bus. However, Obama is religious, supports further action in Afghanistan where Harper is pulling the plug. Why does Obama get a free pass, when Harper who is not much different than him (except Obama has infinitely more charisma than Harper) gets called scary scary. If you support Obama, great, just don't criticize Harper for being religious and a neo con just because he goes to church just like Obama.
-
So if his policies are somewhat similar to the Liberals, and Obama is in the same book as far as being religious, why hate on Harper? Is it the cool thing to do?
-
Report him, I already did. If enough people report then he is gone. There are other places on the internet to go around and blatantly insult people. I have no problem with the odd barbs going back and forth, but stalking posts and laying down insults without debate is nonsense. I have seen others banned for less.
-
This is rich. It's all right for Obama to be religious in his personal life, but not Harper. This is gold. I get it, Harper goes to church therefore he is a religious zealot that will impose religious laws, Obama goes to church and everyone realizes because its Obama its okay to be religious and still be a leader. Stockwell Day could only wish to get a free pass like this. Same goes for Harper. This is the biggest form of leftist hypocrisy I've ever seen.
-
You said yourself Harper was going to pull the plug early and go for the kill shot. I see the logic in that. A deficit is inevitable. The gov't is not a corporation that has to turn profit. The electorate wants gov't money to be spent, not spending money is a vote loser. It is a minority gov't and looks that way for the foreseeable future, it's not like the Liberals were planning on turning off the money tap in their election campaigns either. I don't want a deficit the same way you do, however I realize that Harper has to spend money to win votes, I'm sure Harper doesn't like spending money like that at all.

Harper is only what 12 seats shy. He is making inroads all over Canada, a seat here and a seat there in future elections will help him. The Liberals also have a reputation for spending on pet projects. What will have the spending been like if PMPM got in and kept all of his promises? Harper does have a reputation for cutting spending, it help cost him his majority by losing votes in Quebec. The Canadian public will decide if Harper is keeping the country in good fiscal shape, a deficit is inevitable no matter which party is in gov't, it's how it is handled will be the issue next election.
