  1. TFSA's will be very very good. GST, some stuff ends up being taxed anyway. Income tax was another. The little cuts here and there helped out a lot.
  2. What about the ones making money right now? A tax cut would help them hire more people. A tax cut might improve bottom lines to profitable, a tax cut would put that little bit more into people's pockets for spending or saving in a bank. Better tax increase productivity and efficiency. Your beef is with gov'ts misappropriating funds. Aug. is right, gov't spending tends to create waste. My beef isn't with infrastructure spending, it's the nasty bill that comes with it at the end, that will have to be paid. It might take 200 years, but it is a burden that will eventually be felt, and paid for in taxes that could have instead been spent in the economy. Sure the worker might get a year of work for 40K, but that is 40K of everyone's money going to him which gets deducted and taxed itself. The the worker will get a job elsewhere. A tax cut could save me 40K over 4 years, but the money I don't pay in taxes goes directly into the economy. In short it's 40K I will lose or its 40K I will keep. There are far more taxpayers than there are infrastructure workers.
  3. From business's bottom lines not being pillaged by the gov't, they have more money to hire employees/spend on things. It helps spur demand for employment. Ireland was an economic basketcase in the late 80's early 90's. Should their government have went into severe deficits and spent money on projects employing everyone, or by slashing taxes making it a more friendly environment to do business in? Their gov't did one of these solutions and is successful because of it. There has been more than enough money and opportunity for infrastructure. The fact is that people have not wanted it in the past in favor of say arts funding and things like that. The Quebec gov't has received 8 billion dollars this year, how much of that went to infrastructure? Spending on infrastructure is all right short term, but it is an expense, it is not an investment. You cannot sell infrastructure to anyone. There has been enough budgeted for infrastructure. Now should be a time to trim the fat of unnecessary gov't spending that doesn't make any money.
  4. That however must be done responsibly and for the past 10 years has been done so. Throwing a 64 billion dollar deficit would saddle the next generation with a big bill that will be paid for in taxes. how long that gets paid off is to be determined. As a small business owner, Harper's tax cuts have eased my input costs leaving me more of my money to either save in a bank or spend on machinery, vacations, electronics, etc. How many more jobs will this create? How soon will these projects start? Will they start just as the economy picks up steam again?
  5. Do you have access to the voting lists? Can you provide proof that everybody with high levels of education from prestigious universities votes ABC? Fear mongering over complete nonsense like Harper's hidden agenda and that University educated people vote ABC gets you the moniker of fool, wear it well.
  6. What did he lose? Is inspiring the majority of Canadians to pay attention to politics and the majority of Canadians denouncing the coalition losing? Wait until the end of the week to determine if indeed he "lost" anything.
  7. He is smarter than his own MP's, he is leader after all and set discipline to form gov't.
  8. I'm guilty of false misattributions. Pot meet kettle. You are backpeddling your spin about tory supporters being ignorant uneducated backcountry rednecks. Then you spin about how because harper attends church he is automatically a religious zealot. Then there is the spin about how the tories will be the death of Canada. You are in no position to be throwing out the false misattributions card.
  9. link No dice for both sides. The Brits were still on the continent. However so were the Americans. Hence the draw.
  10. I'd say that ended in a draw, nobody got what they wanted.
  11. This brings us back to our basic theme. 1)Why should the gov't be awash in money? 2)Why should we punish success? That 100 dollars rightfully belongs to me. I earned it, I should do what I want with it. The gov't in essence is forcibly taking it from me. Yes, yes we all have to pay taxes, but the less taxes we pay is better news for the country. That 25 dollars political parties will be spending on their business, and that 75 dollars I can buy a steak dinner at the keg. Both help out the economy far more than that 100 dollars being eaten up in taxes and going who knows where. If I want to donate to political parties I will. I shouldn't have my 2 dollars forcibly taken from me to run attack ads. I would rather buy 2 chocolate bars rather than give it to political parties. I'd rather improve the co-op's bottom line then have it "stolen" to fund in essence propaganda. Deductions on donations go a long way as far as getting funding is concerned. More funding occurs when there is incentive to donate rather than forcibly take whatever amount until people get agitated. It's also better for the economy as a whole when people have extra cash to spend on whatever they want.
  12. Take a stroll around Europe, and you tell us who has better lifestyle's us or them?
  13. Why should that deal in Quebec change. Without common law status, nobody gains anything, and nobody loses anything. You leave the relationship the same way you came in, fair no? I have witnessed people who succeed in spite of their spouses. This woman is not looking to make sure her kids are looked after, she is wanting to get rich. That's just flat out evil. Credit score problems do speak to the ability to manage money improperly, a divorce on top of piss poor management is a recipe for credit score disaster. They do ask the divorce question on some applications regarding big sums of loot. I have had a friend who had to settle out of court for the cohab thing, and from what I understand it's six months living together and its cohab with full benefits. Needless to say it was the best 20 grand he ever spent. I'm not playing gender favorites, the dead beat husband who pulls that gold digging nonsense deserves nothing IMO.
  14. If you feel the gov't knows how to spend money better than you do, cut them a big fat donation cheque.
  15. You certainly are implying it.
  16. Or cut unnecessary services.
  17. Keep moving the goal posts. Nice double standard on the Universities. So people who go to prairie Universities are stupider than those who don't? You sir are a fool. As much as it pains you stupid people vote for NDP, Liberal, CPC, Green, and BQ. Smart people vote for NDP, Liberal, CPC, Green, and BQ. But don't let the facts and logic get in the way of your version of the truth.
  18. Of course they aren't gettin any, when the job's done in her eye's it's time to foot the bill. I was refering to the dinosaur civil laws in the ROC, Quebec for once has done something right. No marriage, no loot. The guy has provided support, this gold digger is going for more. Obviously 35K a month and a mansion isn't enough for her. She wants 50 million and 50K a month. That's flat out gold digging and you know it. I'm going to ask you why does she deserve all of this money she wants? Quebec law is on my side in this issue. Her kids are already been looked after. Why should is she entitled to half of his money if she isn't even earning any of it? Does she go to his job and do half his work for him? Why does she deserve 50 million dollars plus 50K per month just for breaking up with a guy. Do you not see the ethical dilemna here? I'm pretty sure having a divorce hurts the credit score and complicates things regarding money and big purchases. Does a person have the right to go into a relationship for 6 months and end it to get a nice cash payout, not to mentioning causing potential financial problems to the breadwinner (man or woman)? Only ass backward depending on whether your the breadwinner or the leech. I'm sure sugar mommas wouldn't like a dead beat husband raiding their bank accounts after living together for 6 months and "conveniently" breaking it off.
  19. I don't donate to any political parties period. How is me making a tax deduction claim taking money from you? All that means is I pay less taxes.
  20. Sorry Bub, don't drink. You can keep getting high and "enlightening" us with why punishing success is the gateway to utopia. You posted it, not me. I call it like I see it. Pretty sure all charities including churches get the same tax treatment. Unless you want to complain about the fact that churches and other charities do lots of work giving money to the poor you can have at it. A tax deduction on political parties donation is not welfare because said person is making a choice to donate their money, churches, charities, local fundraisers and political parties all fall into this category. The 2$ is welfare because it is forcibly taken from Canadians and that money can be going to other places than political parties. If I want to fund a political party, I'll donate myself, not have my money forcibly taken from me. If the NDP want money, than they can enact policies that are more friendly to people who have money to donate. It's the NDP's fault it can't get money and nobody else's.
  21. What are you talking about? This whore isn't making sure her kids don't live in a carboard box, she is wanting to live the high life by charging excessively for sex. That is bloody sickening. As the song goes, if she liked it she should have put a ring on it. If she's going after sole custody, then the man shouldn't pay a dime. Your last point is BS because these dinosaur laws enable gold digging trash bag whores to cohabitate with guys, and when they end the relationship, they get a golden parachute. Not only that they get to ruin the guy's credit rating to boot. It doesn't matter if the woman has a job or not, she gets half the belongings. This is not only legalized prostitution, it's legalized theft. It's cases like this where I think marriage laws should be thrown out the window.
  22. Winnipeg South - UofM Brandon Souris - Brandon University Calgary - UofC Saskatoon - UofS That's right educated people don't vote for Harper
  23. Yes, lets remove tax deductions on charitable donations, lets punish charities for existing. Lets punish those who give to charities!!! You are not funding the catholic church by having Mr. Canada's collection money being written off in taxes. You can however bitch about your property taxes going to catholic school divisions. I find it funny that you piss and moan about the poor people when Mr. Canada by giving church donations is ensuring far more of his money goes to poor people than it would have been if it would have went to taxes. Taxing donations screws over their recipients and their donors at the same time. If the donors are going to be taxed there is less incentive to donate and less donations. Less donations result in charities getting the short end of the stick, which means people are worse off. Typical socialist venom, governments know how to spend money better than I do. Congrats, that new batch of weed must be magical because that is one of the most brainless posts on the board.
  24. Why should he pay? Why should she be allowed to participate in what is in theory prostitution? Why is she entitled to so much money?
  25. ctv When will this gold digging end? She is trying to get the court to make her common law partner dole out 56K per month and a one time payment of 50 million bucks. That is in essence the highest payment for sex I have ever heard of. As much as I think Quebec is ass backward when it comes to its language laws and reasonable accomodation, they do have it right concerning not doling out money for common law relationships. I hope that the Quebecers keep this tradition going and not cave in to gold digging trash.
