Compared to what the other parties are doing....well yeah!
-
The Oppositions are so riddled with ironies and contradictions. Just read what Sharkman had just said. And funny how their sense of "sensitivities" and moral indignations only applies selectively! They are sensitive to the plight of the detainees, to the point of putting the welfare of these suspects AHEAD of our own troops! Oh, they're not done yet. They've found another way to drag this on. Now they want TO MAKE SURE....TO GUARANTEE....that there are no tortures in Afghan prisons! Blasted hell! They can't even guarantee there are no tortures happening in Canada right at this minute as we speak!
-
This is where some in the right justify torture. I call what the Oppositions are doing as a form of torture! Torturing our soldiers! Torturing their families! Do you have any idea how all these play up in their minds? And for what? To score political points! How would you feel if you knew this is how much your life is worth? Political points!
-
Because the Conservatives told the House they were monitoring all along and then when they faced a Federal Court, they hastily signed a deal. But now the deal's signed. So why don't the Oppositions move on....and stand by our soldiers....and leave them be to do their job! Stop messing up our soldiers! Enough is enough!
-
Monitoring. Well, by the sounds of it, they can monitor now too. So why are the Oppostions still being shrill about it?
-
The Police Association supports the gun registry. They access it thousands of times a week. It would seem some conservatives really are not supporting our cops. Well, they must have a plausible reason to convince the public that it is for our own good, shouldn't they? A law enforcer was inetrviewed months ago and he said that actually, this registry lulls the cops into false security! Remember the lady cop in Quebec who got shotgunned to death when she came knocking to the door? The killer was not supposed to have had a shotgun! I have no wish to get into a real merits-of-gun-registry debate (cos it will detract from this "thriller" topic).
-
It is only Canada that didn't sign a deal similar to the Brits, the U.S. and the Dutch. What is the difference with the others' deal?
-
This goes beyond underming the mission, come to think of it. This could easily be undermining our own national security. Who are the people who are pushing so hard to have the gun registry? To dis-arm the citizens?

Ret Gen Mckenzie says it would be ideal if NATO would handle the detainees, and at the same time also teach the Afghans how to handle prisoners and all that stuff. He added that some Taliban would probably willingly surrender just to get a decent meal.
-
This was filed in court. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...3/BNStory/Front If the court approves it, this will really put our soldiers in a much more difficult situation. So at MDUffy Live, Ret.Gen McKenzie was asked what the soldiers must do to cope with this. His answer? TAKE NO PRISONERS! I agree. And they can thank all these folks who readily take the words of suspects at face value....to the point that they would rather place our soldiers in even greater danger. Why should our soldiers take more unnecessary risks? You push our own troops in a corner...well then, if that's the case, I support anyway they do their fighting...to win...and to survive! All other NATO allies hand their prisoners over to Afghan officials....and yet it is only in Canada that this thing is so exploited....and shamelessly used as a political tool!

The enemies do get the news. One of the most helpful thing to happen is for your opponent to have low morale. Why do MPs have to publicly discuss things related to our war? There are things that shouldn't be made public at war-times. If they have to bicker about it....do it in private! Blasted hell. It's like us rallying the enemies to try harder! The last thing you want is encourage your enemies. OH, the Canadians are about to give up! The pressure of the public is piling up! C'mon taliban comrades....victory is near!

I don't know if I'm just being silly....or have been greatly influenced by Polynewbie that now I'm also seeing conspiracies and secret "deals" and evil motives out of nothing. My concern and curiousity is peaked by several seemingly separate incidents that had occurred over the past few months. * Criticisms upon criticisms endlessly being heaped upon the mission...by usually the same people... since the get go. * All the oppositions parties' stance on the Lebanon war: how quickly and apparent they've taken sides. With whom? You guess it: the terrorist hezbollah. * Ignatieff being vocal about it. Offending Jews. His comments a great cause for alarm. (If you are a people who'd gone through history, being systematically targetted for annhilation, wouldn't you be alarmed to hear a possible leader of your country not being fair....but blatantly showing where his sympathies lay?) * Layton had suggested negotiations with the Taliban sometime last year. * Layton had broached the subject of negotiations recently again...for a ceasefire....with the Taliban, who else? * Dion decidedly weakened our anti-terrorist law....even after the bust of an alleged plot last year to storm Parliament and behead our Prime Minister. * Dion wants to bring all detainees here to Canada. That includes Taliban, of course...unless all detainees are just innocent bystanders. * The NDP was not happy about those new tanks we purchased for our soldiers. Why do we need so many, they asked. NDP MP Dawn Black rambled on about the "graveyard of tanks" in Afghanistan left by the Russians, to which Mike Duffy replied: Instead of tanks we might be seeing a graveyard of our soldiers without these new equipment. * Dion's partnership with Elizabeth (perhaps a kindred spirit) does not help either. A Green MP from BC clapped with glee upon seeing the first tower collapse. Elizabeth said something to offend the Jews. And apparently another Green MP from Edmonton had said something about Zionists (can't confirm that, strategist Baran mentioned it yesterday on MDuffy Live). * All the Opposition parties are making a lot of hay about these tortures. Never mind that it lowers our troops' morale. Yes, it's obviously for political points. But it makes you wonder, is it just merely for political points? * In the meantime, Muslim women living in Canada had exposed sympathizers or members of Taliban also living here in Canada, threatening to slaughter these women should they practice their freedom here in Canada. So far no one had addressed this incident. The champions of women and human rights had gone suddenly deaf. I'm looking at all these incidents together....basing it from reactions and actions/inaction....and one thing seems to be coming to the fore. The Liberals and NDP are soft on the Taliban and other terrorist groups. I can't help but suspect...somebody seems to be bent on undermining the mission. Is there something going on that we don't really know about?
-
Shed tears for the people who were arrested who weren't Taliban and tortured according to the Globe and Mail. At any rate, justification for torture such as what you are doing, certainly does not support for the mission. Everything is nothing more than just ALLEGATIONS at this point! That's what Nato says. Show me some proof!
-
So now we're attacking our troops, eh? Sure no one has said the troops had done anything wrong. BUT IT'S THE ATTITUDE OF PLACING MORE CONFIDENCE IN WHAT THE DETAINED SUSPECTS SAY that is abhorrent in this situation. We are at war! That is what the other parties don't seem to get!

So, this one single incident, Elizabeth May managed to accomplish the following: 1. Offend some sectors of our public. Wilfully or not. Either way, it shows lack of sensitivity and sound judgement. 2. Dish out a personal insult to our neighbors to the South, by referring to the faith of Pres Bush. Further showing that not only does she lacks sound judgment, May also lacks diplomacy. 3. She had apologised for the Hitler comment....but remained comment about the Christian bashing. This is coming from someone who's allegedly a "born again" Christian...training to become a church minister in the Anglican Church. Her choice of words were not so Christian-like. The inconsistency in her behaviour suggests that May is not only a loose cannon. To me, she seems someone quite unstable. Psychologically or mentally. 4. She quite easily uses God and religion, without any qualms to further her agenda. This, coming from an alleged "born again"...and future church minister. To me, she is a phoney. 5. She can squeeze out a few tears at will. Then she's a good actress and manipulator. And if these are genuine tears, then she is incapable of reigning in her emotions. All of the above only proves, she's driven by dangerous fanaticism. I feel sorry for the members of the Green Party.

I agree with the email. Besides, where does that leave all those immigrant-wanna be who had patiently followed the rules by the book...and are waiting in line? Illegal immigrants ought ot be sent back...and told to follow procedures.

Thanks Keepitsimple and Scriblett for the informative links! It helps provide the other side's views....so we can all be informed, weigh things up and decide for ourselves. At least it's heartening to see some becoming enboldened and equally aggressive in challenging and exposing this scam.

Oh you should've seen how they played this on MDuffy yesterday. Everybody's referring to Elizabethe May as "the candidate of the Liberal Party" in McKay's riding. Boy, were they all really rubbing it in. And Jane Taber was saying Dion must do more to distance himself from May. She also pointed out that Dion had not really known what May stands for. In other words, Dion showing his true "leadership" skills....had made a serious decision...without really analyzing or knowing much about this woman. I guess a lot of people don't really take May seriously.....she's like a caricature of an airhead actually. But it says a lot about Dion.
-
So....she's just "repeating" the trashy views of a British politician about her own country. And repeating it with outmost relish. Never mind if it offends certain sectors of the public. For someone who entered politics, and supposedly the leader of a political party....and the star side-kick of the Liberal Party...I can only ask in dismay: Is she stupid? She just blabs whatever comes to "mind"? Without weighing the consequences?

At least, even some environmentalists had grudgingly acknowledged (when pressed by media), that the Conservative's Green Plan is a step in the right direction. It is constructive....because it is taking some CAUTIOUS steps. Baird's Plan is obviously not DRIVEN by HYSTERIA. That is why I truly question the motive of some anti-Baird Plan, who try to dismiss the light bulb effect (as one example). True, it may not amount as much as they would want to....but it still amounts to something nonetheless. Every "little amount" helps. So if there is truly an urgent need to change things (as what Suzuki and company would want us to believe)...you count everything that contributes toward that goal. But you know what, IMV, Suzuki had laid himself bare and transparent by entering the arena of politics...made himself a tool (or what looks like it) for partisanship. He, and May and Democrat Gore, are aggressively using the environment as an issue in our politics now. And agrressively trying to discredit and smear the Conservatives....by using the environment. Is all. If you have the time, please watch the Great Global Warming Swindle. In a very controversial issue such as this, where-in whatever decision we may take would have some serious consequences not only to us here now, but to the future generation....you owe it to your children and your grandchildren...to at least know both sides of the arguments. Only then can you truly say you've made a responsible decision.
-
Btw, wasn't there another Green MP who made outrageous racist comment in BC? This was pointed out yesterday by a journalist. This on-stage mime of May.....only seem to suggest....there could be more to her than meets the eye. Did Dion jump hastily into bed with a.....tooner? This must be Fatal Attraction 2. Lol.

"Preaching in London about the threat of climate change, Green party Leader Elizabeth May brought herself to tears yesterday, not for children who will inherit the Earth, but for the God she believes created it. It wasn't the first time May has mixed politics and faith -- she says she speaks often at churches. But her voice broke and her eyes filled with tears as she delivered a moving sermon at Wesley-Knox United Church in Wortley Village. "We have a moral obligation to our Lord and Father to ensure we don't destroy the creation that was given to us," she said." http://lfpress.ca/newsstand/News/Local/200...141314-sun.html I've watched the first few minutes of The Great Global Warming Swindle, link provided by BuffyCat. http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=449...warming+swindle I must say, the first few minutes of this documentary had already pinpointed accurately to an existing obvious fact. The vicious aggressiveness of Suzuki and Gore and May in attacking the green plan of the government....and now, with May delivering the Green Gospel on a pulpit (complete with theatrical tears).....only shows that it's true: this scam had gone beyond politics. It's now taken on a "Moral" stand. And these environmentalists, as demonstrated by Suzuki....use INTIMIDATION, and censorship.....as tools to further their agenda. What is amazing is how these people.....Suzuki, May and Gore....are actively involved in our politics, to the point of hijacking the House of Commons debate when other pressing issues should be addressed. Who are these people to be given so much importance? Their words taken as absolute facts! It is equally worrisome when we see the leaders of the three opposition parties taking the counsel of these three so seriously........these leaders appearing as puppets, with no minds of their own. These three are the pied piper....and the party leaders are spellbound followers! For those of you who hadn't seen the Great Global Warming Swindle.......you owe it to yourself, and to the rest of the world (including your own children and grandchildren)....to at least, know the other side of the argument. Tis true, it's the future generation who'll be greatly affected by our decisions now....whatever they may be.

No. Not yet. Thanks for the link.

This messenger is no longer just content in relaying his message. He had taken an aggressive role in shoving his views down our throats....aggressively attempting to DICTATE his own opinion....and that's all it is.... to an ELECTED government minister. He opened himself to ridicule and chastisement....when he openly sought to publicly ridicule an ELECTED government official. What is irresponsible would be for the public to just accept anyone who uses his popularity to exploit the situation....undermining, and attempting to coersce an elected government to follow his bidding. His arrogance is offensive. Well, that is your view. There are those of us who think that it is people like Suzuki, Gore, etc.., backed by SOME scientists, who are trying to mislead the public. No rational person is denying there is climate change. What is rationally deniable is the cause of climate change. I, along with many scientists that you'll never hear of from Suzuki, or Al Gore, et al, don't believe that climate change is due to man. Don't be so arrogant. This is a normal climate fluctuation of which there have been many even in historical times. In the past, cultures have dealt with it...without perhaps even knowing what was happening. Now we in a culture of advanced technology are panicking, instead of doing something constructive about it. If you choose to believe the Suzukis of this world, in 2050 you'll be wondering why nothing has changed inspite of the chicken littles. It would be because whether they do something about reducing CO2 levels, or don't do something about reducing CO2 levels, the situation in 2050 will be the same either way. You're the one who's being conned. Whatever the situation is in 2050, Suzuki et al will be able to say..."I told you so." I would say the question should be: how will we contnue to fund saving the environment if we are cash-strapped? Elizabeth May's endorsement of Dion is quite telling. For more than a decade, the Liberals had done nothing. Now, suddenly....the attitude from the environmentalists is, "it's now or never!" And never mind whether Canada breaks its back! Go figure!
