  1. A. N. WILSON "Andrew Norman Wilson (born 27 October 1950), is an English writer and newspaper columnist, known for his critical biographies, novels, works of popular history and religious views. He is a columnist for the Daily Mail and the London Evening Standard, and has been an occasional contributor to the Times Literary Supplement, New Statesman, The Spectator and The Observer. In 2006, he was the victim of a notable literary hoax played by Bevis Hillier. A. N. Wilson was educated at Rugby School and New College, Oxford. Destined originally for ordination in the Church of England, Wilson entered St Stephen's House, the High Church theological hall at Oxford, but left at the end of his first year. He later became a convert to Roman Catholicism, but reverted to the Church of England. In the late 1980s he publicly stated that he was an atheist, and published a pamphlet Against Religion in the Chatto & Windus CounterBlasts series; however, religious and ecclesiological themes continue to inform his work. In April 2009 he published an article in the Daily Mail affirming his rediscovery of faith, attacking at the same time both academic and media atheists[1]." From Wikipedia
  2. In my workplace (which is a young company that's slowly explanding), only 5 out of 30 employees are men. Only one of them is a "coordinator" (manager) - one in four managerial position. The directress is a woman.
  3. A lot of women...and MEN....hold jobs that they'd rather not have. EDUCATION! That's a key part nowadays isn't it? Highschool diploma is not enough for most high-paying jobs! Btw, how many of these people hold highschool diplomas? That's one good reason why a lot of these people....women AND men....work menial, blue-collar jobs!
  4. Women now have a voice! And that is thanks to the feminist movement of long ago. That voice is here to stay! An example of woman power that exists: Politicians go out of their way to get women approval of their platforms. Don't the political parties all over the world boasts of women in their seats? How many women today hold important positions? The US for example, Condoleeza Rice....replaced by another woman, Hillary Clinton! The Supreme Judge appointee....a Mexican woman! Just in Canada alone, the three parties are in a contest on who has the most women MPs. How many women hold powerful seats? So explain what hope for what had been robbed? What fight had been stolen? Substantiate your claim.
  5. Never read Rush Limbaugh....and learned that term feminazi right here on this board....in that very lively and intense debate! And yeah, you should know me by know. I don't spout off opinion lightly....for no good reason! You give me a headache WIP. So let me take a vacation from you....deal with that chip on your shoulder. It's too heavy lugging it around.
  6. Nice try....trying to wiggle out of it. Btw, what exactly do you mean by this? This sound like a sexist remark!
  7. Obviously you two had a history in the form of an intense debate by the looks of it....and obviously Sharkman made a lot of good points in that debate! You're still foaming....
  8. I can see that now....and understand what you meant when you adviced me to have patience. Hopefully he won't be whacking me with my Christianity in every topic/area on this board. It's kind of getting personal. He should realize that by doing that only shows he's just behaving like a sore loser from that religion/evolution debate.
  9. Whoa! I think you're letting the religion debate get to you....you seem to be turning this into a personal issue. Oh puhleeez....you're barking at the wrong tree! You deserve a pat on the shoulder. I can't reach you, so give yourself one for me. I'm on your side on this duh... We've encroached on each other's percieved turf. But in the process, women had lost more than they've gained...at least that's how I see it. They whine that they cannot compete with men in the workforce.....and now, they're also competeing with men at home! Men like you...who have a knack for being great with their kids....are now filling the same space that women once exclusively had! No wonder women are walking around with long faces! It's just not fair! Let me tell you about an article in the paper about a man who thought he'd show his support for the feminist movement by speaking up in support of women...only to be told by the organizers his support is not needed! I forgot the exact terms used but the guy's support was rudely thrown back to his face. This was a while back, probably about 5 years ago....and that article got stuck in my mind and really made me loathe what this movement had become! A lot of women do not see themselves represented by this lunatic group...that's why a different women's group was formed. It's called REAL WOMEN! Now, that's my kind of group! I'm tired of seeing manly women screeching out bashing all men! Wear that badge proudly! If mother hen decided not to, or for some reason cannot sit on her egg, somebody has to! Believe it or not, some women feel "forced" to go out there now...because it's expected of them! It's not only women who go for material things, you know. But the pressure doesn't come from the need for material things alone. It also comes from some feminazis who put down women who stay at home. In fact, a while back on a debate right on this forum with a couple of feminazis, one of them described a stay-at-home neighbor as a "spoiled bitch." Of course, they were just greeeen with envy!
  10. Far from losing....this all-out guns ablazing reactions shows I must've really hit a nerve! The hounds are all yapping and yipping on my heels! It's bad enough that you're in denial....but you're denying that there had been questions about Creationisms in the other threads - asking about dinosaurs, young earth blah-blah-blah....and now that I decided to give you a head-on rebutt, what's your reaction??? Not interested. Of course you're not interested. I know why. You know why. Who are we kidding? You can deny, dismiss and fib your way around it all you want. Coming from a bunch who end up clinging to science fiction writers for serious answers...what a joke.
  11. Some men bend backwards trying to conform to the new Feminist thinking. And by the looks of it...for some women, it's still not enough to make them happy. I say the problem is in most women. They are torn and more confused than ever which way to go. The men had now encroached in their own turf - homemaking and child-raising. Whereas before what's always been a badge of honor for mothers - the one who's always there for the child (kissing that boo-boo, sitting up with a sick child, et al) - is no longer exclusive to moms. Dads now wear that badge too.
  12. But not as pronounced as today. And the battle of the sexes then were treated lightly...as you say, mostly featured comically. Older generation of couples usually have a united front. But now, it's a real power struggle.

  15. There are a lot of questions about Creationism in the other co-related evolution threads, so this thread was created to avoid too much clutters, for easy follow-ups, references....and because it deserves to have its own thread. Be forewarned: most, if not all of the sources will come from Scientists-Christian Apologetics. I, myself, am learning about them as I go along with this. We'll begin from the BEGINNING. The following are excerpts from Richard L. Deem: Richard L. Deem received his bachelor of science degree in biological sciences at the University of Southern California. He received his master of science degree in microbiology from California State University, Los Angeles, and has been working in basic science research since 1976. He has authored and co-authored a number of studies, included several areas of molecular biology and genetics, immunology, inflammatory bowel disease, natural killer cells, and infectious diseases. In addition, he has presented his work at a number of national and international scientific meetings.
  16. I marvel at how some of you really put your faith in science-fiction writers just because some sceince fiction materials became reality - which of course couldn't be so hard for scientists to figure out since they know what's being worked on...and what current experiments show promise. Scientists have the inside information that ordinary people like us don't have. Usually when they come out publicly, the conclusion is almost always already a done deal. These scientists-turned science-fiction authors of course have contacts in that field. Sure one of them knew about sattelites and told them what to do ....but the idea didn't just spring in his mind out of nothing! The idea was an "off-shoot" by knowledge already established...was inspired by something that already exists. If Point A is established....how much more does it take to connect to Point B...then on to Point C? Predictions??? Heck, Jeanne Dixon predicted some things that came true! I bet if she's alive you'd be wanting to hear her side of the story! Btw, out of curiousity...what other "predictions" by Clarke came true?? and the famous, So then you look up to these science-fiction-writers scientists like some god-like beings...accepting their musings...their conjectures....their assumptions....their extrapolations ....and I must now also add, "predictions", about extraterrestial life....as facts! The way you both postured about and ridiculed those who believe in the Bible....yet here you are accepting science-fiction writer's fantasies about extraterrestials as unquestionable facts! Don't you see how ridiculously absurd you sound? Who next? Mr Spock? ...And yet you firmly close your mind to the Bible, when it's been authenticated by some scientists as well and the Resurrection is supported by evidence. That some Atheist who went on a investigative mission to debunk it came out convinced...and converted. See thread REJOICE ON THIS DAY. Yet, you don't even afford it the slimmest benefit of the doubt....you just dismiss it outright. As I've said earlier, no one sheds off their faith so easily without overwhelming evidence....overwhelming enough to suddenly do a 180 degree course of action...life-altering action! You'd think that at least they'd settle for Agnoticism. But oh no. The turn-around is quite striking! From Atheist to a believer of God. From one extreme end to the other!
  17. One of you mentioned that ID is the same as Creationism....I don't think so. The two agree on one premise: God is involved in the creation. Some ID advocates will even balk at calling the "Designer", God....although they refer to him as a "transcendental being". I don't know about you, but I do translate something "transcendental" as something "supernatural." ID doesn't necessarily follow the Biblical version of Creation. If you insist that ID is supportive of Creationism....or a an off-shoot of Creationism....then that means you are saying, Darwin must've believed (and actually at some point, capitulated) that there is a possibility Biblical Creation is true! And Gosthack (who claims to be Agnostic), confirmed what WIP had already admitted: ID is "faith-based".............ID=religious interpretations....and I say again, that's the real reason why all the resistance to this theory. It's not about the quest for truth. It's in defense of another faith. In fact Gosthack already admitted to the possibility of ID....and to repeat his own conclusion - there are overwhelming evidence to support ID. That's why I wonder about those who claim to be Agnostics....and yet show very Atheistic-like characteristics. If one is truly Agnostics....they'd be more likely to stay at least neutral, if they already know - and admitted - that there are overwhelming evidence supporting ID! One could see that there's a confusion in that individual's way of thinking....if he can't even decide exactly where he stands!
  18. The new feminist movement had turned the home into a battleground. It's a constant power struggle for a lot of husbands and wives....even to the simplest things.
  19. Yup. Just jesting about that....since you've brought up rape and murder. So I figured you were implying we should even up the score.
  20. I didn't see anything in the Bible that says we are the only ones created by God. Or that we're the only ones created in His image. Who knows, He could've done the same thing in another galaxy...and it's possible that there is religion there too.
  21. Speaking of aliens....why is it that it's always assumed they will be more advanced and civilized than us??? Unless they've made initial contact with us, why can't we assume that chances are, they could also be primitive? Seriously...can anyone explain? I'm just curious...
  22. And you say.... "SO!" The way you said it, there shouldn't be any question about it! You make it sound he is an authority on the ...whaaaat was that again? How the aliens will look like? ...that's it's gonna be exactly the way he described it! And what's so funny is you're so serious about it!
  23. No wonder children all think T-Rex is cool! Coz dat's grampa!
  24. Michael Crichton can explain the fossil record!
  25. ARTHUR C. CLARKE! Sir Arthur Charles Clarke, CBE (16 December 1917 – 19 March 2008) was a British science fiction author....
