  1. Nice try. Wiggle, wiggle, squirm, and squirm Desperate Bambino's on the hook so firm. Delaying here, and deflecting there He knows he's neatly caught by dear Betsy-girl. Betsy's whistling on the riverbank, watching Bambino struggling on the line. amusing to see how the more he tries, the more he knots himself up so fine. Just as I thought.... you cannot explain your own argument. Therefore, you bombed. Since I'm right, therefore I win! And that's the end of the trilobites. Buried, along with Theobold's other dead!
  2. Since you identify yourself as a Chrsitian, do you then believe that God PLANNED, DESIGNED and CREATED everything? That nothing comes from nothing? That's settled then?
  3. What do you think? Why don't you scroll back to the listed facts connected with Genesis. Read them carefully. That's what those who don't understand what they read thinks. And those who are utterly confused thinks they think.
  4. Like I said, there are some that are quite literal. You don't have any right to call me to task when you yourself wouldn't say where you firmly stand. You claim to be a Christian yet you wouldn't firmly affirm whether you believe in actual Creation or Intelligent Design - which by the way, does not exclude your belief of evolution. You want the luxury of "picking and choosing" what you want or how you want to debate. That's not a discussion at all. How can one rationally discuss with you who can shift anyway you want? So how do you interpret yourself as a Christian when you try to discredit not only the Old Testament but the New Testament as well? When you are so determined to be obtuse about the reasons why this topic is created? When I've already stated that, the Bible is not trying to prove science....but that science supports the Bible. If you are a Christian, it flies smack against logic why you'd find offense that science does support the Bible! One would think you should be jubilant, if not at least be pleased about it. Blah-blah-blah....coming from someone who invoked the Apostle's Creed, without understanding the part ".....CREATOR of heaven and earth." In my view, one can have his/her own Sabbath Day. It is the message in that God wants us to devote a day for Him! It is for our own good as well, so people are not forced into labor without a day of rest. It is a day for us to enjoy as well....to devote with our family! You say...."Like God needs a rest anyways." You're saying the Bible is lying. You're mocking the Bible. I guess you think it's all fiction.... This, coming from an "christian." I don't care what you think! What you project with your attempt at reason is your utter confusion - so much so that you contradict your own self! Your own posts are the empirical evidences of that! At least I made myself clear where I firmly stand. I'm consistent about it too. What about you? Still wouldn't say where you firmly stand? Creation or Intelligent Design? Or....No Creator? No God?
  5. It is the younger generation of parents who seem to be having a tough time with discipline. I guess it's safe to say that mostly everyone from the "older generation" have been spanked by one or both parents. Yet I fail to see an overwhelming amount of psychos or dysfunctional people as a result of that. Instead, we've had firmly grounded, responsible adults from that era. In fact, it's practically the opposite now. Since society started listening to people like Dr Spock....and tampered with parental rights....and changed things around.....what we see is a deterioration of the succeeding generation. And it will get worse as new generation comes. We learn parenting from our own experiences with our parents. If the younger generation of parents don't know how....how will the new ones learn?
  6. Trilobites.....hmmmm.... Let me guess. Is this one of Theobold's? This is, isn't it? Am I right? You're trying to resurrect Theobold's busted 29 so-called Evidences?
  7. Look folks, I'm already saying I'm ignorant, and that I need Bambino's and DOP's help to make me understand what it is they're trying to present as an argument. Bambino and DOP, please - I'm on my knees and imploring you - explain it to me.....enlighten me. How can I respond if I don't know what you're on about? Hey, who knows, maybe this will be the one that will finally convince me to go over to your side....how's that for incentive? Explain your argument. What about the trilobites?
  8. Okay, okay, okay. So I'm all that. I'm ignorant, you see....so I need help here. Now. What about the trilobites? What's your point? Please explain it so ignorant little me will understand what your argument is all about. I'm waiting ever so patiently. Hoping that you'll help me understand.
  9. Btw, Why are we arguing about the flood at all? Is it listed as a fact??? Whether my supposition is right or wrong, it doesn't make any difference at this point. It is supposition. I have not listed it as a fact, because there is still some contention going on. If you hadn't noticed, all facts listed here have been accepted and proven true by science. Before you start refuting that statement, please read the listed facts carefully. I've already stated that in my view, Genesis is not a blow-by-blow account of how things came to be. It is some sort of a summary, and other verses by other authors in the Bible have given additional accounts about origin/universe that indicate that. And I've stated that, at present, I tend to believe that the flood is localized - not global - but that my view could possibly change depending on further discoveries by science. Why? Do you know what happened to other parts of the world during that time of raining? Is water only found in that region? Do you know climate condition in that region before that flood happened? Do you know if they'd had drought before? No, it is you who's missing the whole point. Answer this simple question. When was Eve created? Before or after Creation was finished? Like where all the water go after a massive flood.
  10. Why not? Science does support some of the verses in the Bible! Some literally! Including Genesis. That's a fact! Why shouldn't it be pointed out????
  11. A question is an argument, if it is being used as an argument or to support an argument! The onus is still on them to explain their point! This is not a guessing game! I don't read their minds! I don't even know what they think my "view of how nature functions," is. What is my view on how nature functions? I've repeatedly asked Bambino to explain, yet page after page he refuses to explain his own argument! How hard is it to explain one's argument? Unless they themselves don't really know enough to explain it? If the ones presenting the argument cannot even explain it....how the heck can they expect anyone to? Since you seem to know what they're on about....perhaps you can explain?
  12. CORRECTION. I never said that Genesis Creation should be taken literally! In fact, I made it quite clear somewhere that I don't believe in a young earth! And I have explained clearly about God's Time or God's Days - and I've given some Bible verses to support that. I hope you're not trying to put words in my mouth....nor are you doing this with malice.
  13. You're asking: What's a trilobite? How long ago did they live? Where are they today? I'll repeat my answer: So explain what a trilobite is. How long ago did they live? Where are they today? WHAT'S YOUR POINT? Obviously you think you've got a solid argument behind the trilobite. Then, spit it out! EXPLAIN YOUR ARGUMENT! C'mon, DOP and BAMBINO.....I'm waiting forever here....
  14. What do you think is a "local" flood? Flooding of a small town? Could it be a flooded region too? Speaking of Adam's ribs, do you know that ribs regenerate? Anyway, why are you looking for things that are not listed? If it's not listed, obviously there's nothing imperical to show you (yet)....and of course, you wouldn't take my words based on faith alone. Instead, why not deal with the 53 listed ones? Those are supported. I thought we've talked about this already? Regurgitating the same thing again? Do you know that Sodom and Gomorrha were located near the vicinity of the Dead Sea? Of course you know what's in sea water, don't you? The Wit of Dr. Craig - Part 22 "The Repetitive Atheist"
  15. #54 FACT: "The Bible is written by over forty authors from every walk of life, over a period of at least fifteen hundred years, in three completely different languages, in various styles, in scores of situations, on three continents in a day when people didn’t travel very much" This was taken from the introduction post on the other topic The Word Of God. These are excerpts from Charles Price from the subject: Revealing The Mind Of God. Isaiah 55:6-11: “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon. “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my Word that goes out from my mouth; it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.’”
  16. Depends on the hot sauce that was used. Sriracha is way up there. I couldn't handle it. My lips sting....but hubby gobbles it up like butter. And there are even hotter varieties than Sriracha. Depends on the type of peppers used to make the sauce. In culinary shows, viewers are adviced to smear oil on hands (or wear gloves) if slicing up and de-seeding jalapeno for example. Some hot sauce can cause blisters (again depending on the type of peppers). Also some people - even for adults - are more susceptible to skin irritations than others. So what more to a child? I've read an incident of torture where-in an individual is submerged to iced water. Again, it depends on the temperature - how cold is it. I think that the mother got over her head disciplining the child. This is more out of frustration that she's not getting anywhere with him, an accumulation of other things. This is dangerous....because it could easily get out of hand.
  17. Bambino: Where are the trilobites, betbet? Betsy: Say, what? Bambino: The trilobites. Betsy: Oh...<waiting for more> Bambino: Betbet.... Betsy: What? Bambino: What about the trilobites? Betsy: What about them? <waiting for more> Bambino: BETSY! I said, the trilobites! Betsy: I KNOW WHAT YOU SAID! TRILOBITES! Bambino: What about them? Betsy: What about them? <waiting> Bambino: Betsy, you're using delaying tactics! Betsy: I am? B-but...I've been waiting for your explanation... Bambino: So, what about the trilobites? Betsy: WHAT ABOUT THEM???? <whispers> He doesn't know how to explain his argument.
  18. Right on cue! Here comes the expected In-Denial mode! Ignore-everything-that's-been-presented mode! Recite-the-mantra mode! Let's-go-on-the-merry-go-round mode! Stick-those-digits-in and-plug-those-ears mode! The pie-in-the-sky mode! The spaghetti-monster mode! The myth mode! The fairytale mode! Oh boy, truly the repetitive atheist!
  19. Speaking of bullshit, what about your trilobites? Where's your argument about your trilobites? I get it now. You've been asking where they are.....because you've lost them!
  20. Anyway, since I invoked the Doctrine of Revelation....here is a little snap shot. http://www.theologywebsite.com/systheo/bibliology2.shtml Like I said, this is just a snap shot.
  21. So, just like Shwa who think Star Trek Novel is an ancient book....with you, it's Harry Potter! Are you giving away your ages, guys? You need time? Why? All I have to do is read it and they think it's the truth! Look at Shwa, she found truth in Star Trek! I don't know who read it to her though....that guy must really be good! Btw, I'm playing that these days....HP and the Chamber of Secrets.
  22. Well, all you have to do is explain your point! What's up with the trilobites? Then you'll know whether I'd avoid giving the answer! C'mon. State your argument precisely. What's so hard about that? What have you got to lose? Who's using delay tactics here? IT WAS YOU WHO BROUGHT UP THE TRILOBITES - SEVERAL TIMES! WHY DID YOU BRING THEM UP? IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR OWN ARGUMENT! EXPLAIN WHAT IS IT YOU'RE ARGUING ABOUT! This is a forum! Not a Guessing Game! We're not psychic here who could read minds! Admit it! You can't explain your own argument....because I suspect, you don't have any! Prove me wrong. What about your precious trilobites? Explain! That is, IF you can.
  23. You're right! Creation is proven! Just the Doctrine of Revelation alone provides evidence of a Creator, who obviously Planned and Designed everything...with templates and blueprints to boot! And add the Bible to that - and all that's been and being listed as facts on this thread! And then of course, there's reason and logic that solidly stand behind it! Not to mention the numbers of famed or significant atheists enumerated on the topic, REJOICE ON THIS DAY! - who all ended up converting to Christianity!
  24. Just so you know, and just to be clear....I've lumped you along with the new atheists on this board.
  25. Another tell-tale sign of a new atheist is that of being.....blind. Literally. They tend to overlook, or skip, or miss what are usually the most important logic of an argument or rebuttal....hence, they fail to address or respond to it directly. Thus along the way of debating - borne initially out of frustration - and which lately became an adapted style when dealing with those who exhibit the new atheistic tendencies - I've resorted to using bold, huge fonts. Btw, speaking of huge fonts....do you know how to make them "flash"? If I could learn how to do that, and if it's available, it will also be used along with the bold! The better to see. And of course, along with being blind, there's also the problem with deafness. The Wit of Dr. Craig - Part 22 "The Repetitive Atheist" Of course, the discliples of the 4 Horsemen are all using and following the examples of their leaders. Therefore, the same thing is mirrorred on all forums and boards! At times, I'm sorely tempted to yell.
