Canada has a 12% chance of being destroyed
-TSS- replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
North-Korean leaders are nuts but they are not stupid. They know full well that if they launched missiles against western countries instead of over them they would themselves get obliterated within hours. However, within those hours they could probably destroy Seoul on the other side of the border and kill millions of people. -
Macron has made some sort of a record as how soon his popularity has shrunk since he took office.

I think the threat from North-Korea is similar to the threat of Iraq with WMD back in the days of Saddam; it doesn't exist in reality. -
It amazes me how could Boris Johnson ever become Mayor of a major cosmopolitan city like London as he was in favour of Brexit, the nightmare of the globalists. He was probably able to hide his views in a very witty way.

Federal NDP Leadership 2017 & Butts

That's a good analogy. So, Ottawa is like Brussels, Toronto is like Berlin and Montreal is like Paris. -

Are you saying that Canada is an artificial country and many of the current provinces would be better off as independent countries of their own? -
The pointless waste and vanity of our refugee system
-TSS- replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Unfortunately, even though the Saudi-regime is rotten to the root, the likeliest alternative to overthrow it is going to be far worse. Actually, if/when the price of oil drops to a point that the Saudi-regime is really facing a threat of being overthrown the ensuing civil-war will make the one in Syria look like a picnic in the park. -
Poland will support Turkey's accession to the EU

If Merkel says it is OK for Turkey to join and if Macron agrees that is all that is needed. -
Justin Trudeau the Worst PM Since Pierre Trudeau?
-TSS- replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If Justin Trudeau has children or other close relatives who want to enter politics they have the same fate in that attempt as Jeb Bush. Jeb is a civilised gentleman and he would have made a good president but he was tainted by his family; people simply didn't want another Bush in the White House. -
Fortunately, the EU doesn't have its own army, at least not yet, to bring reluctant states to heel like the Soviets did. Now that the Brits are leaving the strongest army will also not only leave the EU but may in some future-scenario be an enemy-army of the European superstate.

The pointless waste and vanity of our refugee system

It is big business and some people make good money out of it. Useful idiots who are in it for sincere will to help are a useful tool. -

-TSS- replied to AltanYavuz's topic in The Rest of the World
Poland is using the EU to advance its own needs as any sane country would do. They are very nimbyish about bad things as refugees, yes refugees are a bad thing, but very fond of EU-handouts. I wish our Finnish politicians like of those Polish politicians. We are doing things exactly the other way round. We welcome all the refugees and open our purses to bail out the Greeks.(ie.German and French banks) -
Since English is the first language of the vast majority of the posters on this site perhaps you can make more sense of this piece of news provided by the BBC in Pidgin-English. I am a bit lost what that gibberish says. All I understood is that there was fire and someone was rescued. https://www.bbc.com/pidgin/tori-41171196 Woman wan troway poo-poo, come trap for window Woman wey take her hand, pack her poo-poo comot di toilet of man wey she dey friend because ''e no gree flush'' enter trouble, after she go try collect di poo-poo back. The woman wey dey learn gymnastics, just start to waka with Bristol student, Liam Smith, for di first time, when she take fear troway di poo-poo comot for window. Instead make di thing land for garden, di poo-poo come jam between two windows wey no dey open wide. Di lady decide to carry her thing back; she use head enter the small space wey di poo-poo bin dey, but na so she come trap for there, and trouble start. Mr Smith say im no get choice but to call fire service make dem help remove di girl, along with her poo-poo. Now, im don dey try raise money to repair di windows wey break, so e write all di tori for inside one University of Bristol crowd funding page. Mr Smith write say: ''I go one Tinder (social media app) waka with di woman and we end up for di house wey l dey share. Di evening waka nice; we eat for one popular chicken restaurant, drink beer small, and then we end up for my house, where we continue to dey drink wine and watch movie." Im say di woman go im toilet and when she return, she begin dey shake, as she tell am wetin she do. The toilet window dey open but another window dey block am, and na only one small gap dey separate dem. Before Mr Smith fit run go look for hammer, di woman don climb with her head first. The Ill feeling between left and right on immigration
-TSS- replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Life is too short to read the whole thread so someone may have already said what I say that immigration is an issue which most poignantly shows how obsolete the traditional right/left-division is. -
Insanity is reaching new levels. Even in your country. I'm optimist in that sense that some time in the future people will be laughing at us how idiotic we were.

Justin Trudeau the Worst PM Since Pierre Trudeau?
-TSS- replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Had the very tight referendum in 1995 gone the other way round, nobody today would have doubts about the worst PM. After all, a break-up of your country is not exactly a legacy to be proud of. -
The Left invites terrorists into our home
-TSS- replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Western people make the general mistake in thinking that as our countries have become more and more secular over the years and religion is to most people of no importance whatsoever we automatically think the same applies to people who come to our countries from more religious countries. We think that somehow as they are here with us they will abandon the shackles of their religious bigotry and become just like us. In fact, religion is gaining importance outside the so-called western countries and as they already make up the majority of the world's population then that is the trend worldwide. We in Finland and you in Canada are living in our liberal bubbles. -

I don't think they are stupid. They are carrying the Coudenhove-Kalergi plan. It seems like a tin-foil hat stuff but everything that has been going on is just too consistent to be co-incidental. -

Correct me if I'm wrong but as here in Finland we get told by the tree-huggers how our carbon-footprint is so high and all in all even living in Finland is an environmental crime but yet the same people who say things like that are all in favour of bringing in more and more people from much more benign environments. I personally don't have kids, I don't own a car nor do I fly across the world on pointless journeys so I guess my carbon-footprint must be less harmful than many other average Finns who are guilty of all three above-mentioned "sins" but yet the very fact that I don't freeze to death in winter in Finland because my house is heated probably puts my carbon-footprint well above the average globally. But having said all this, isn't Canada even worse in that sense? The northern latitudes of your country are totally uninhabitable and the latitudes where the majority of the population live are at the same level as Southern-European countries which are known for being warm and mild winters but your winters are even harsher than in Finland. So, envitonmentally speaking moving people from better climates into Canada is just as harmful, or probably even worse, than doing so in case of Finland. i -
The Left invites terrorists into our home

That reminds of the former Swedish PM Reinfeldt who said that as he was flying over Sweden and saw vast spaces of fields and forests and then thought how can anyone say that Sweden is full when there is enough space for millions of more people. Fair enough if you believe that people live in fileds and forests but people usually live in houses and building them costs money which is in a limited supply. This "there is so much space there"-argument could be used to Africa itself. -
When there is a system where two parties alternate in power two consecutive terms of one party in power is optimal and it only wins a third term if the alternative is for some reason totally unelectable. That was the case with the British Tories in relation to their Labour-party. When the Labour-party had reformed themselves they won a landslide. After three terms of them people were in turn tired of them and switched back to the Tories. And so and so it will go on.

Let's add to the previous post that yes; in my opinion the idea of men being feminists is just BS. -

Look sir, with all respect, you are really putting a lot of doubt on the idea that you are a fair-minded and neutral moderator. As I understand the post which started this was WestCoastRunners question can't men be feminists to which I responded admittedly childish but innocent but since then it would have gone away but for some reason you wanted to bring it back to the discussion. -

I think the original question you refer to was an earlier poster asking can't men be feminists. Yes they can and look what it has got them into. -

We in Finland we have the social-democrats in the opposition and their leader is doing his best to convince the electorate that he is a male-feminist but for some reason people just don't buy his bollocks. We have the Green Party at 18% just behind the Conservatives and the Greens are tipped to become the biggest party on 2019 when the next election will take place. I must say that walking in Helsinki and riding on the buses and the metro(btw I'm on holiday so I have time to do this) I have little doubt that the Greens may become the largest party in Finland. Namely, not only because of the multitude of foreign-looking people many of whom are certainly Finnish citizens but, more importantly, at least every 1/3 person of clearly Finnish background-looking people looked like some weird hipsters. Ridiculous wimps who think that the food is in the shop and the electricity is in the plug. And those people's party may the largest party in our next election.
