Another Harper Bald Faced Lie

There are other options. Canadian residential real estate, although it's value is off slightly, seems to represent a far better place to park that cash than in any financial institution. What about gold, that traditional safe haven in troubled times? There are others. -
Why don't you give your opinion of yet another poll today showing falling Tory support? This poll shows the gap narrowing by 7%. 7%!

No, you are wrong. Investors wanting to salvage whats left of their investments is why stocks are falling. You seem like a bright poster: What is your reaction to these predictions from observers at the front of the curve? (1) Major runs on the retail banks will take place in about 2 - 3 weeks, as everyone wants out before deposits are frozen. (2) Developments stateside are so ominous, so staggering, that Washington has ordered plans for nation wide martial law to readied for early 2009. -

Your point has not been made, here is what you miss: High rollers like Buffet are loathed by middle class people faced with financial disaster at the hands of other Wall St. high rollers. Voter anger only doubled when the other Buffet types - bankers, speculators and govt cronies - got their worst crimes reimbursed by the American treasury. -
Liberals pull ahead of Conservatives in British Columbia battlegrounds: CTV - Strategic Counsel, today: "For the first time during the 2008 election, the Liberals have pulled ahead of the Conservatives in British Columbia battleground ridings. That's in stark contrast to the start of the campaign period when the Conservatives were polling at 45% compared to the Liberals 25%. In polling conducted Oct. 6-8, the Liberals had 33% support to the Conservatives 31%, in key swing B.C. ridings. The NDP were in third place at 23%, and could have a huge role to play on election day if some of that support moves to the Liberal camp".

I repeat: Nothing warms my heart more at this point in the campaign than listening to two Tories discussing abortion, etc. -

We shall see whether's Obama's acceptance of Buffet's endorsement is necessary political expediency or a true reflection of the senator's beliefs. -

I just love to hear you Conservatives discuss bringing back abortion, homophobia and capital punishment. By all means keep it up from now until Oct. 15th, guests to this forum will get a glimpse of what to expect with a Harper govt. Good work guys! -

Another self serving Wall St. tycoon looking for the few suckers left willing to buy equities, including of course, positions in the companies he bought into a week ago. Americans, and increasingly Canadians, are fed up with insiders and govt cronies lusting after whats left of working people's savings and investments. -

Integrity? When he advised Canadians to wade into the stock market days ago he proved he hasn't a shred of integrity in his body. Voters following his advice are now another 20% poorer than before he opened his mouth. -
So your adrenalin skyrockets on each dead cat bounce. Throw your copy of Stocks 101 out the window - there is nowhere to hide in this market.

Would The Harpy consider today's latest carnage a good buying oppourtunity?

So you don't really own any of these falling equities? Lol That explains a lot ...

Calculated your TSX losses today?

From Battleground 2008 today: "According to polling conducted Oct. 6 - 8 in Ontario's 20 battleground ridings, the Conservatives held 36% support, a loss of 4% from polling done Oct. 1 - 4. With Quebec seemingly out of touch for Tories, Ontario is considered the key battleground in determining the 2008 election outcome: (Brackets show percentage point change from Oct. 1-4 poll) Conservatives 36% (-4) Liberals 33 (+5) NDP 21 (same) Green 11 (-1]
-
What was the final margin in 2006? Nanos again confirms some significant differences from 2006. Quebec remains a Tory wasteland this campaign, their losses there will be a minimum 4 seats. Add that to the 3 they will lose in Nfld. and the party will be down about 7 ridings before it gets to the Ontario border. Seems it all boils down to Ontario - who can argue it should be settled anywhere else.
-
You are half right. Nanos had the 2006 result predicted accurately to within one one-hundredth of one percent of the actual outcomes for all 5 major parties. No one else, including EKOS, was close. Then again, anyone who would use the bandwidth yesterday that you did extolling the liquidity of our banks only to wake up to today's bailout can't be expected to demonstrate much objectivity.
-
Picking and choosing the numbers you like seems to be a problem with you.

CTV - Strategic Counsel, 'Battleground 2008'. This is interesting movement. http://www.ctvbc.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/C...BritishColumbia This is completely counter to the Ekos numbers above and, on balance, some of the best polling news the Liberals have had this campaign.
