  1. but i still love mankind, nothing can take that away, once a spin happens, do we not find out and laugh? i have joy in the thought that a challenge is what we run into, i am not saying god does not exist, i am saying he did not boost us to this height that we're in, we raised each other, what can i do to make people believe in that? truth is found, do not buy a 'your truth' because the real truth, will be true to everyone. i have seen a bit of this truth, but i speak to individual minds, all comfortable in there silky beds of belief, i always question so that my bed is hard, so that i can stay up thinking, but my mind has eluded me, i am wrong most of the time, but cant you look and see how far you could go and go the distance? please go the distance or death will come in disappointment! find your height, i don't care what it is, be the one that is real. you see... if you look at reality just the way it is, it does not have to be perceived.
  2. Those men from the past were men of the future at that time. PS This makes for an interesting argument (with Jeferriah having knowledge of the theories you speak of). It should have its own thread devoted entirely to its discussion. in my eye's, the god you all worship is not real, beleive in man and we can find the truth, beleive in gods and you can find illusions, step on a rock and hate it for being there, but love that the rock may cause you to feel, it is the only proof you are alive. you follow to find this rock, i myself am drawn, but be smart, books tell lies as well, do not worship artifice if it is the drug that cures you. his point was that another way to truth may be found, that we can be real, finaly.
  3. Which part of the future? i shall quote this from Friedrich Nietzsche, "zealously and with clamor they drove their herds over the bridge: as if there was only one bridge to the future!" i indeed have seen this bridge, not all wish to cross it, but your 'herd' does, and would do it like sheep saying that they must follow the good shepherd even to the slaughter house. i wish to have true freedom, i wish to cross the bridge over man, and become more then man is today as we did to the men of yesterday. i will go my own way, let that be outcast! but i cast myself out, i could not bear the sting of your minds anymore then you mine. you are too proud to hear him, this man that understood our potential, must i go over man not knowing if anyone followed? i would surly go mad. their is no definite future, even if we do become more then man, but in this wake we will see a shine that for an instant could be more then man, that is where we are. what if god is not god, but home, and the church is the illusion trying to teach you who he is, is the bible then a lie? maybe, but it has been changed by kings, warlords, tyrants and churches, the bible's morals have some bad morals, like how to hate and love, or how to act and play, and the worst sin of all: telling the future to be so dark, do not look at these killer's and say they tell the truth, learn it by your heart, for it is the wiser, but also is the zealot, silence him then use your head, you cannot comprehend the universe, but neither does the church, and the bible may give that shine and glamour, the light and clouds with angels at top, but i have flown and seen no angels, they are not on this earth, and the image is not as great as what man can become. begone with devils, begone with gods! it is time for man. "what is a monkey to man, a laughing stock or painful embarrassment? so shall man be to the superman, a laughing stock and painful embarrassment!" Friedrich Nietzsche, 'thus spoke zarathustra' this is the mental evolution from man to over man, i ask you this, would you like us to evolve? " I used to own the book "Thus Spake Zarathustra". Neitzsche had a very sharp intellect and a very nice poetical way of conveying his philosophy. Around the time that I read it, I found it had a thought-provoking effect on me. I sometimes quote that book myself, since I think he did make some valuable points. However, I don't subscribe to Neitzsche's general idea, as I see it. I think alot of what Neitzsche wrote was nothing new, an already existing philosophy. The characters in Dostoevsky's novels had many of the same intellectual ideas, and I think Neitzsche was a Dostoevsky reader. I think they were also ideas Dostoevsky himself had rejected. It seems to me that you think people choose to believe in God because they are not free thinkers. I think you don't realize that it's untrue. You don't know Betsy's reasons for believing in God. Neitzsche was an individualist, I think, and it seems to me you are somewhat an individualist yourself. And maybe you think religion is controlling a mass herd. In some cases that may be so, but I think many people have come to believe in God from free-thinking. You seem to have a religious zeal for Neitzsche since your language and poetic style seem to mimic "Thus Spake Zarathustra". Do you think that all people who believe in God do so because they are blind followers? Do you believe this because "Thus Spake Zarathustra" (your Bible) tells you so? I think Neitzsche though intelligent was quite self-deluded. I don't believe in the Ubermensch. I don't believe in evolution from apes. Do you think people are forcing me to believe this? That I have chosen to believe it out of fear? I think evolution has very little actual proof and is somewhat of a religion itself. The original reasons for believing in it have all been discounted recently, but the faithful still stand by it looking to science to provide a "desired" result. Evolution is a mass of theories, elaborate stories and explanations, based on a few facts. It seems odd to me that out of the billions of children of the common ancestor only one is now using the internet, talking on the phone, etc. To me it is just plain simple logic that evolution is untrue. Maybe you dont agree, but I am not brainwashed to believe this. I am not a Church goer or anything. Philosophically the problem with Neitzsche and others is this: the need for a Superman to create order. If everyone was an individual and free thinker and extreme non-conformist then society would be nihilist. Every man for himself. People would do as they please. So the need arises for the "greater man" to control the herd. These are the people who seize control of society by tricking people in order to establish order over them for their own good. Yet, what man is qualified for this? And what man is qualified to judge who is qualified to be over others? Perhaps the superman himself would only have the intelligence to understand that he is the leader. Now we have a real problem, because anyone who fancies himself a Superman....well I think you see where this is going. You have mentioned in your posts something I recognize from Neitzsche. The great heights! Like his parable of the tree that grew so tall and all the others were down down below. The problem with this philosophy is: what man can judge what is up what is down. Ideas and thoughts are not as visible as trees. The fact that your idea may be far far from anothers does not mean it is far above. It could be far below. Far to the side. An idea may be very original and far far from the the ideas of the so-called "herd", but that does not make it right or truthful or worth following. Mankind is only a small part of the universe and one man alone is only a small part of mankind. Men are just men. No supermen. Just men. Philosophy is good, and vital. But it always leads to an intellectual impass....one man cannot fathom the whole of something he is only a small part of. Men who fancy themselves able to do so are in great danger. The heights that they find are delusions. all that could have been. the world, about to speak, although... what to say? we hesitate...
  4. in truth, i am sad from the children, what not even he can forgive i am sure, is that he did this to himself...
  5. i picked a militant atheist, because usually if an atheist is hostile in his/her belief, it's because of pure apathy, and a dark hatred. the worst of killers, is a person who thinks he's already dead... (but i never met a hostile atheist that was a true atheist)
  6. 7. is that me included?
  8. put that aside, i think you may already know that i see that as artifice. as a human being, there is no thing past man that i have seen, so try not to show me phantasms. use your relince, the logic and reason, get rid of the joy bask, go back from in front of god, show me that. do you feel fear in front of god? of death? no place in heaven? to be damned or forsaken? you say you have joy in your belief, but joy is dull if your mind is a trick, once the trick goes to happy, then what your left with is mental seclusion, isolation, condescendence. 'i am' is our words, we need to realize that, 'we are' that way we can live in the knowing, the knoledgable, and the evolved. do you look at a human and say, "mere human"? indeed you do, i heard you say it, stop insulting your humanity, imbrace the good and bad, learn a truth in you and your belief will need not be expressed on a past culture icon, but in true image, something based on reality, emotional response, and pure good old human imagination. in my thought, religion was not past the minds of those in that age, and those who believed it, thought fly’s came from meat! though god speaks of teachings, we must pull ourselves to a point of humanity none the less. my point is that more people have gone to doubt parts of their faith, not to despair, but to hope, a wish or want for something else, if god gave us free will, then would he let us go our own way? i don't even belief in this god, but i believe in you, in humans, and their evolution, revolution! a priests way of teaching a child not to believe in science, "if there is such thing as evolution, then why havent we changed?" this offends me, my little brother is being forced this by the church, and others i've seen believe what they want, and to hell with consequence. my point is that we HAVE evolved, we are taller, stronger, brain mass has increased, some deformations have become common place, morals are changing, and twins are more common. because of the hope science gives, and the cold blows reliogion has swung, less and less people go to church, i asked around and many do not agree with the churches morals, some found it offensive. others just would of done it another way, but some say, 'but god' that of which was said a millenia ago. read no book and call it truth, especially if it was written by men of the past, i say now lets look to the men of the future.
  9. look at this and think... maybe it says this in the bible, maybe a part of it was to say that god did make us in his image, literally, in that this god is no valid individual, but is a collection of people and objects making up a body of complexes, that for the most part, partake in actions to some main cause that none of us are known. a collective complex... and the philosophies and art, strife and forms of peace, even are insanity is just a grand projection of these complexes and their purpose, a true collective over-mind of action, without action, good or bad, would there still be life? aggression is apart of our condition, passion is fueling it furiously, but the want to prosper, grow, survive, fight, rest, even to go on with peace! is very strong in our condition. look at it smart, the god of the bible may be a projection of a true god that forms this complex. but hey, i'm not a seer of gods and please question, or you will not change as fast, don't believe in what we believe, just be smart about it and find means past affliction of the mind. remember, there's no wrong way to eat a Reese’s just eat it.
  10. i agree with this, a child develops a mind as well, and good communication can mean that this child will disagree as well as agree, on their own. so you then allow them to grow a moral stature past your own, but does that mean religiously? if so then would your religion change for your child? The biggest problem with religion in its extremes is that it is unwilling to change, so in turn it makes the extremists in their faith just as inflexible. If the next day, their parents were to say that god was not real, would they resist? 5-6 years ago I would of, So is religion build on their past moral defenses of the church? These are some defenses I have studied: Using a super power to defend you, (England) Gather followers and thwarting non-believers. (Rome) Put paradoxes in front of odd beliefs (the best trick of the devil is to make you believe he does not exist, est.) Gain coin from the followers to be involved politically.(USA, money used to put a voice in gov.) Produce a hoax after a drop in followers.(???might have been in italy???) Destroy damning documentation. (satanic preist) Altering scientific proofs to fit agenda. (creation of the metaphorical bible) Becoming allies of a ‘evil’ empire just because of strength. (the pope and hitler) Using millions of dollars worth of funds for structure and icons. (morman temple) Using military action to inspire fear. (given) Killing non-believers to get others to convert. (also a given) Becoming friendly when confronted with danger, and disregarding your followers. (idk, will look up.) I’m sure there are more, but I cannot think of any right now, also I am generalizing all church/religious structurings of faith. If you want I can point out all the events (and there are more then one.) that took place, that are listed. So is passing down this decadent defense, wrong?
  11. I'm not going to have my kid experience getting sodomized just to give him a chance to decide whether he likes it or not! How to cross the street is just a tiny fraction of learning (unless you speak symbolically). VALUES! Those are the gems of learning we get from our parents! My child will learn the values of this family. And should he wish not to indulge with our values...he can always do so...when he reach adulthood and make a home for himself! And I will always love him! Sure I will teach him my religion. That's where most of our values are rooted from. My parents never forced me to believe...they've welcomed my questions. And in my teen years, they've put up with my rebellion! So of course, I'll be applying the same method to my kid! That's where children learn: from their parents! Brainwash or not...I say I am the parent, and nobody's going to tell me how I should raise my kid. And most parents think this way. Hence there's only one way for the busy-body crusaders to breach that wall. By force! Getting kids "doctrinized" in the classrooms (or much better yet, getting them while they are really young in daycares)...and through legislations! So you non-religious folks are no different from us...or from the preacher you quoted about getting children while they're young! The non-religious group and the busy-body crusaders will do the same if they have the chance! And oh, how they'd love to get that chance! Don't they just love to get their hands on our children. And they're working on it...it won't be long, don't worry...I'm willing to bet. No lures of candies with this group. No sireeee! Once they get their toes in the doors of your homes...they're in! Our only difference is our beliefs....the kinds of values that we want to teach the children! you are right! guard your kids from new values! the learning of new hope is heresy! we are against your proof it is true, they are the values that pass by the great golden statue! that statue is your morals! there where proof is to be, none exists, accept this and believe in your faith, but not as to be so stubborn that your kids would not build a new statue and pull yours to the ground! values by faith is values left blinded because of how bright they are, values grow by self, religion is not needed for it but it helps. keep 1 value close, but separate it from faith, faith is personal, have faith and hope in your children’s success, not in your god causing your children’s success, give them maturity, then faith, then teach them 'your' faith, then they can learn of others on their own. that is how i'd do it, children are gullible, so teach them not to trust too much! teach them to know them selves first! from there the morals are truly built, moral building is not exclusive to religion...
  12. I worry about Jesus kids, who will one day grow and become Jesus voters, a helluva lot more than I worry about suicide bombers. I'm from Alberta fer chrissakes. Oh sure, the methods may be different, but the ends are still repulsive. As anoher observation, I sure wonder about just how peaceful radical Chrsitians really are, given their embrace of violent rhetoric and imagery. i dont worry about their vote, personally, i worry about their motive once they grow up TO vote. we need a less stubern beleif system. or our own kids will be fighting a war for THEIR god, but i do beleive the faith should not be attacked, though id disagree with the method, and result for that matter, we need to keep a higher moral standered, or we are no better then them (religous radicalistes), i think this is an outrage, dancing to a god? is that not looked down upon in the bible?
  13. ummmm... have you played a really great video game? it teaches you something, lessons you experience in-game, they make a history of their own, and i do not like sports games, i play sports outside, but i cannot cast spells or fight the order in the tau-39 sector in real life, so i do it on a game, it is a boundless world of fun. a moving painting of art and form, it is the new art, i love it more then Picasso!
  14. i can agree, i wish these lame corp pounding wars would stop and they'de give microsoft some advice! they may be praise worthy then don'tcha think? i mean sony of course, they keep yelling at them and not being a good sport, but your right it is an ok plan, but they need help, they actually did perrty good for a second run in. i played the xbox 360, and the only prob. is how bulky the power cord is. and it tends to over heat if you got the hard drive running for hours on end, but a coolant devic that you can buy helps with that.
  15. play 'elder scrolls 4: oblivion,' you'll no longer be so interested in going on that dream vacation, the air seems crisp, the lighting is perfect, and the detail, sensuous. the game play is freelance and mission, it has many guilds you can join. (Assassin guild is my favorite) skills to upgrade, the morning is the best time... spells can be custom, and you make your own weapons and armor, you can make potions from hundreds of ingredients, ride a horse, hide in hollowed out logs from guards, even find and ride a unicorn! guarded by minators. do the quest and fight demons, earn weapons and other items, break into the magic shop and steal the grand soul gem! or the bitter cup. pick up any item, escape from jail after being caught doing crime, steal the key or pick the lock, and fight hordes of zombie's, or a bandit that’s desperate, on the road. every person that is not player controlled has a schedule, from hunting to sweeping the porch, guarding against wolves, or stealing to feed their family. this game is so awesome that the developers delayed it 4 months just to play it more! (test it on beta) it was made by Bethsda, and they got help from scientists to make these lush, thick, beautiful forests. you want an RPG with a big bang? play this and complain. (which you most likely won't.) oh... its for x-box 360 and pc, the one for pc is better because it has an RPG maker kit for the game, i don't know of any web sites, but look it up, you'll like what you see.

  17. i know it is not personal, but do we really need a faith? cant we survive on life alone? i can walk to the other side of earth and still have not found a use of faith as strong as my hope in man! i just don't like seeing extreme men shoot the heathens of their mind-hood... does that seem like begging? but i don't want to shed my dilemma, i am still flexible and would like to see an 'alternative' to Jesus camp, and an 'alternative' to radicalist faith. is there one? because i have no answer in this matter.
  18. Is it blindness indeed? In the case of your pizza, there is already proof that gives you the truth. Medical studies and findings had already given the evidences. But the advertisement still lures you to that pizza....offering the familiar comfort. You still believe it ...and even refer to it as a "reality", even though you know it only offers an illusion of that reality. Oh man, reading that makes me think of the comparison to the devil and temptation. Well I don't know how to explain it...so I'll tell you about my mother. My mother had a near-death experience. She saw the light and she felt so wonderful that she did not want to go back....she just wanted to go to the light. But she got yanked back to life. She had been religious throughout her life....but after that experience, she became even more so....that at her old age, she became an active participant and was part of an effort that saw the restoration of our church. She may have halllucinated the whole thing....or she may have indeed seen something beyond. But whatever it was, it gave her a surge of strength...and had her faith soaring even more. To the end. We all want to see an evidence, a proof. But just because there is no evidence proving it is true....it does not mean it is not true. you all have convinced me...but don't get me wrong, i speak broadly, all faiths are like this to a point, in the sense that they are condescending. but can they help it? i myself am condescending in my belief, but what have they done to test their bounds? are they making their reality with clay?! that is an insult to what is in front of them, but they want and hope to see past it, all they've done is dream... all i say is, "WAKE UP!" but me myself am dreaming, so i am judging, i am happy for their truths, but it is only 'their' truths and it worries me... is that a judgment? is that prejudice? i think it is, so i agree. i should not tell them what is so, it damages their pride, because i have pride as well! but a selfish pride that hopes others will have pride as well, in me. as they also have this pride. i think i will find this on my own, but i need not artifice to see it. so thank you for your outburst! it was a good fight! i enjoyed it! but this is not a battle to the death, it's with words out-spoken and teaching, i need to see the truth in the lie, are we not clashing heads uselessly? 'betsy', its passion not rage, i would not say this to anyone, i say it to thinkers that i've grown to respect, what is to me my favor, is mankind, i would see you all be free from these jails of moral malcontent, are you really ok with happiness without truth? also it has no proof, test your bounds and find truth in that, not in throwing geusses at half cracked doors. no one person is right in their beleif, what i'm saying is there is a world that is here, and the boundry of here lays on the beholder? life is not art, not art that we made, but we still define it? we make the painting over our world, as i said, the "advertisement of reality" is what the preistests and wisemen spread, it is the fake reality that others choose to beleive, would you beleive a lie if it made you happy? i never read this in books, that pizza is bad for you, but as i said i like other foods anyway, i do not have to eat pizza, the realiy is the pizza, in my words this means we all eat it, dispite the warning, but i would not as often, reliogon is not the pizza, it is the illusion that pizza is in fact 'good for you' (advetisment) an instance is the first, fear spelling words out of a JW, "we are here to save your soul!" i am not afraid of this, but others are and joined because of this and their lack of escape to another hope, that is what i hope to offer, but then my offer is a fake reality? mine i can prove... but this is no way to speak, i will find other means, mabye then i can convince you something of what i say is true? 'liam' i agree, back on topic, and stay on topic, but there is a commonality in both the girl and the bomber, i don't know what it is, but i see it as a degrading tolerance or overwhelmingly condescended ego. i'm covenced that my words were radical, and over-spoken, not out-spoken, we need a more tolerant system of argument, my problem is that i forgot you all were not godless... i thank you.
  19. Mine is the First Movement and Third Movement of of the Fourth Piano Concerto. i like those as well, i think... because i have no clue what your talking about! sounds like a guy in a mexican restrant using the bathroom after holding it for an hour!!
  20. I DONT LIKE BLUE CHEESE!!! and... well i think thats it, but... do they use drugs and lay in dirt with knives and curses? i dont think so, did i miss something? also i think tolerance is not to be condesending (use that word too much... sorry) but to be diffrent and learning eachothers differences in a passionate chaotic, yet free manner of which the rules ar self contained, not war of worlds, but war of words. i'm atheist soooooo............BOO!
  21. You know what you call as the "advertisement of reality" is not reality at all...because YOUR OWN health guru are saying pizza clogs your heart! So that statemnet is pure bologna.! Typical liberal gibberish! but i never said it clogs your heart... the "advertisement of reality" or "pizza" is a brew of words that fits the empty space, are you full? if you read it right, then the "advertisement of reality" is indeed not true, but religion is the "advertisement of reality" would you beleive all your told? my point was to the pizza, i would stop eating it if i felt unhealthy, but i am not eating a lie, it does not hurt to eat, but it will? i guess then i will stop eating pizza, i like other foods as well anyways. Typical liberal gibberish? am i liberal? hmmmm... please, i do not like the title, it seems insulting in the way you said it, would you take it back? it is a helper to find a lable, but i do not wish it to stick, i dont like blue cheese!!! (liberals like blue cheese... long story.)

  23. That's kind of a stretch, don't you think so? I wouldn't compare burning witches at the stake to telling Muslims to stop supporting hatred and advocating death to non-believers....and to make their radicals to stop from making themselve martyrs by blowing up innocent people. For one, there's no muslim being imprisoned for attending mosque service....and second, this reaction is due to a norm called, self-preservation! BUT I would compare Burning Witches a few centuries ago to the kind of agenda some lefties would want to impose: banning second-hand smoke from homes. This opens up the way to a full witch-hunt galore! I could see it now, a child mistakenly state ,"my dad smokes at home" or specially trained cigarette smoke-sniffing dogs, AND sniffing neighbors make some accusations ...and the inquisitors swoop down in full force. So okay you've had your say about Christians. What I'm interested to hear is what you have got to say about them Muslim suicide bombers! Anything derogatory at all? None whatsoever? good! as i said, men of faith are blind, but there's more to that, as faith means one thing to you, and another to me, faith to me means to believe something so much, that you disagree with anything that calls any part of it wrong. then also, acting out at by-passers as if they are your enemy. if they doubted their own faith, havoc! but it would end less painfully. but the reason they do this, is because they believe in the other-world or after-life, so they do as they are told from child-hood what they must to the enemies of this faith or god to gain their place in heaven, hope is courage, so fear of death is 'to' the moment, not 'in' the moment. in other words its the strongest before their death. they have a idea, like most faiths, that past this wall (or reality) is a higher plain of existence, a heaven in basic, or hell that holds the dead and gods with those under them (god, devil, angels, demons, uncle buck) so they have the wit, to do this act in order to die, to me death is literally death, to end to a new beginning that is more, but in this reality. so as once parts of you where meat and plant, then ghost comes from the human of which you are conceived. back into meat and plant. they die for their god, their faith, and place in heaven.
  24. I know a man who tried to study different religions because he is "looking for the truth." He was a confused Christian...that his faith was on rocky grounds is probably an understatement. he read different books on different religions, and different theories by atheists. The last I heard of him, he was seeing a psychologist. I, myself, do not fully understand my own religion. I guess you could say it had been "programmed" or "bred" into me. I have no problem with it...I'm happy with it. But then again, I know a lot of kids who go to McDonald's...because their parents take them to McDonald's....because their grandparents had taken their parents to McDonald's. So a lifestyle is bred into them. Their taste for a kind of life had been "programmed"...it's like brainwashing, but on a lesser extent. Was that right? indeed! it is brain-washing! make one believe it to be true, and so they shall believe it to be true, to them, it shall be true! i love pizza, my friend hates it, the difference is that he had pizza once in his life, but for me it was familiar! from this blindness is the advertisement of reality, "this is so!" is all i hear from these 'sales men' and i doubt them, i have seen their faith and worshiped it, i too read books and found lie's, but in them was a truth! i am like your friend, i wish to find truth as well! have i found anyone’s god? no, but i found 'a' god. i'm righting a book as we speak on the matter, very close to this is a god that you and your kin make, a moral beast thats old and should die! but it's culture, a beautiful thing and i would not see it die, but children who like this for the feeling, will be out of touch of what reality is. who am i to judge what reality looks like? look around. if around you there is no lie, then that god in the good book does not exist, maybe he made man write this book, maybe he is a trick of our mind. but 'WE' do not know, science is a test of reality, but we have not gotten to this test yet. would you still agree to let people be happy to death? would you let kids believe something because it felt good? (also can you eat a faith? diffrent taste.)
  25. i'm more then willing to ridicule, but if you insult the actor you insult his act, the next day he'll do better, so ridicule the maker of his drug (emotional stimulus caused from religion) because they are the motive to this act, this play, damage it with truth and he might look at it with less hungry eye's, so what are you talking about? men with bombs on chest? or girl sending holy balls at pins?
