Again, you are wrong about the symptoms occuring because of medication instead of without it.
-
So? That wasn't what Limbaugh was referring to. That event occurred in 1998. The Limbaugh business was last year. Zing! Just to be clear, I am taking issue with guthrie's comment that the symptoms Fox was displaying occured because of the medication he was taking. Fox has said it happens when he stops taking it. I might add that if Fox was willing to appear in front of a Senate committee without meds for the effect, it's at least possible he did it when promoting stem cell research.

Uh, are you disputing my comment? I don't quite follow, but in case you are referring to me as a dittohead, here's a link that proves you are incorrect. the truth If you are interested in what actually went on, Michael outlines what he did about 3/4 the way down the page, under the heading: Senate Appropriations Subcommittee Hearing, Washington, D.C., September 28, 1999. Just in case, here is the quote: "I had made a deliberate choice to appear before the subcommittee without medication. It seemed to me that this occasion demanded that my testimony about the effects of the disease, and the urgency we as a community were feeling, be seen as well as heard. For people who had never observed me in this kind of shape, the transformation must have been startling. " Perhaps you should read the book.

Actually, it's another lie. The symptoms he was displaying occured because of the medication he was taking. The stuff is difficult to accurately dose and can easily be influenced by body and mind conditions. once again, Rush viewers are more likely to hold incorrect views on news items and world events Guthrie, you are wrong, you'll have to take it up with Michael J. Fox. He reveals in his own book, Lucky man, that he appeared in front of a senate committe without medication so his appearance would have more impact. Those are the facts, in black and white.

... Tory critics are accusing Harper of trying to quietly scrap the registry since he can't do it by legislation. The reason they can't do it by legislation is they are a minority government, and do not have the votes to scrap it. But they can extend the exemption on long gun owners, which gives the Tories another year to win a majority and then end the registry. It's not even close to a flip flop, did you read the whole link? Of course, I did, I just wanted this type of response, to point out to people, that yes, indeed, the CPC do have a hidden agenda and are waiting to try to get a majority. This is in face of the reality, that any majority they would get, would not be of the majority of Canadians will. FPTP's time is over. So you convict them for not scrapping the registry and then criticize them for doing it if and when they have a mandate? Right. At any rate, your flip flop comment is nonsense, and your following remarks about wanting a certain type of response prove it.

Stronach won't run in next election
sharkman replied to stignasty's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Are you kidding? Entering politics of any kind puts a big fat bullseye on your back. There should only be surprise if the person DOESN'T get attacks. Many women have entered politcs and did not get attention paid to their womanhood, simply because they didn't draw attention to it by not showing discretion in their sleeping around habits. -
I would suggest, that although she is a lesbian and militantly guards against any slights against gays, those of Chinese decent (and apparently blacks, by her defense of free speech yesterday in regards to Imus) can blow it out their collective ear.

I'd love to know what Peter Mckay is thinking about this. Her planned exit shows she doesn't have the character to stick it out when her party is less than when she joined. Also her floor crossing showed much the same. I'll not thank her for giving Martin more time in power and putting off the inevitible. -
I just read the whole link that started this thread, and Tory critics are accusing Harper of trying to quietly scrap the registry since he can't do it by legislation. But they can extend the exemption on long gun owners, which gives the Tories another year to win a majority and then end the registry. It's not even close to a flip flop, did you read the whole link?

Perhaps you should direct those remarks to Rosie, who recently insulted all those of Chinese decent with her racist remarks, "ching ching, ching ching ching." Someone like Rush Limbaugh got forced out for saying much milder remarks, but Rosie gets chance after chance.

Phoquing stupid comment. Even STUPIDER, actions by Carter who never met a used car salesman who didn't rub his hands in glee.

Ann Coulter must be doing something right to drive the leftwing frantic. It's got to be more than just saying provocative things.

Okay, now I'm curious. Poly. You gotta tell me, who killed JFK, cause it sure wasn't the schmucks the government scape goated. -

Also, I never claimed anything about Russia's demise constituting a win, so you are debating a point that was never made. 1st - Russia didn't implode - the USSR imploded 2nd - there is both your claim of victory in the cold war and your denial of the claim --- not even Ari Fleischer could spin that 3rd - I agree you never made a point but you did attempt to make a point Okay, I can see how my first comment could be seen as inferring a win, although I was trying to say the U.S. winning the cold war caused Russia to implode (USSR, whatever). But you have still not explained yourself. What exactly does the phrase, "butchery is never a hoax", mean. Also, please tell me which buildings you are referring to when you claim that communists have blown up buildings on American soil. -
At the request of the high priests. That said, the Romans are going to have to accept some responsibility somewhere down the line. Just my 2 bits, but I don't think the Romans really cared 2 bits about what some (to them) weird religion in a tiny country wanted them to do. On the other hand, Jesus kept telling his disciples that he was going to be killed, and he predicted that Peter would deny him three times before the rooster crowed.

Perhaps my history is sketchy. I don't remember any buildings on American soil that were blown up by Communists. What buildings are you referring to? -
Why is Danny Williams knocking a sweet deal?
sharkman replied to Michael Bluth's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The National Post reports that Newfoundland is headed for a recession, in no small part to the Hibernia South and Hebron projects being shelved for the mid to long term. Also, the Eirik Raude, a huge offshore rig, which was slated to drill two wells in the Orphan Basin this summer, has been reassigned to the Gulf of Mexico. Why are these plans being shelved, at a huge cost to the corporations involved? Because Danny, perhaps too full of himself after winning a sweetheart deal from Paul Martin (Atlantic accord), assumed that the oil industry would grovel at his feet as well, and sign sweetheart royalty agreements. Danny badly overplayed his hand. Danny knows his voters will be ticked off about the recession, so now he's been taking out newspaper ads attacking Harper. He seems surprised that the Tories would respond with ads of their own! What is it with this guy? Running from one fight to another... -

Oddly enough, the commies never blew up buildings on American soil nor attacked U.S. embassies. But the terrorists did. Also, the communist threat was greatly removed when the U.S. WON the cold war and Russia imploded. Exactly what does the phrase, "butchery is never a hoax", mean? -

I hope you have a rewarding trip, and that you stay safe. Guthrie, the Nazis WERE from Germany originally, and weaponeer's comment on them was concerning 1945. Edit: corrected my grammar, sorry for any confusion. -
Why is Danny Williams knocking a sweet deal?
sharkman replied to Michael Bluth's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The NP has a story in today's edition that says much the same thing. Apparently he drove such a hard bargain with the oil corporations, some have mothballed or put off projects, so revenue is down. So he's attacking Harper in the hopes of shifting the blame from himself for a resulting recession there. Typical slimey politics. I hope Williams gets what he deserves from the voters there. -

Interesting you mention this conspiracy. I saw on some program way back in the day (obviously I'm not trying to be crediable) that the reason you rarely see leading politicans sick is that they have some secret cure to the common cold/flu and are withholding it from the masses. Interesting. I have never seen George Bush with the sniffles or Harper make a sudden dash for the men's room during question period. I'll let you work on this one PolyNewb, your the expert on such matters. Hate to burst this bubble (not really), but George Bush Sr. got sick in Japan one time. Apparently threw up on camera. The only reason I remember it was Saturday Night Live made it their centerpiece skit for the show that week. -
These clear headed facts are what get ignored in the headlong rush to be 'green'. Our government is pretty much having it's hand forced by the misled public to be green at any cost.
