Canada caters to France and their cultural ideologies
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
You are a pin head. Quebec copies Nazi style politics even back when Rene Levesque copied and used a Nazi phrase 'night of the long knives'. Quebec always thought of themselves as the victim just like Nazi Germany did with the Jews. -

It is a phenomena okay, so I will reword it to 'being forcefully Frenchified'. -

Not assimilated into the closeknit francophone society, but rather assimilated by a certain degree, by political economics that have a created an artificial demand utilizing the English/French language in certain areas of employment. IOW, the federal government, is doing what the francophone society has failed to do. -

Corrupt legislation. Maybe you are blinded by facts. Like all other Canadians you have been assimilated, except for your language. Most francophones I know speak English 80% of the time. They say the only time they speak French for any length of time is when they are speaking with older members of their family. Do they still live in log houses and drive French cars over in Quebec and trade fish and furs...I don't think so...they drive Fords and Chevs and mostly live in vinyl clad houses and copycat popular American game shows, French dubbed English speaking movies etc. You know very well that (even though the francophone population is small) you would find it difficult to find employment in English only in the city of Ottawa. This includes federal, provincial, municipal or private employers. You are an incredibly arrogant francophone. I keep telling you French is a dying language and now at least you are proving that it is. I think Hitler would be proud that (believe it or not) another linguistic group (Quebec and French politicians) would copy his ideology. -

I have nothing to do with assimilation. Assimilation should have been Trudeau's goal but we all know what this faithless politician did for Quebec..don't we. It would be foolish to stay in Quebec when the government of Canada will not stand up for your rights as a Canadian citizen. -

Canada caters to France and their cultural ideologies

I deplore any Nazi type policies and advocate a free and democratic society with linguistics kept on a personal level. If Quebec wants to discriminate and linguistically exploit English speaking Canadians, it seems they have that right in Quebec. If English speaking Canadians cannot tolerate different levels of linguistic discrimination in Quebec, then they should simply leave that province rather then complain, because there is no federal government that is going to help anyone in that predicament. This is due to the dysfunctional nature of federal governments in combination with confederation. -

That is not good enough. When politicians make major social or constitutional reforms, referendums should definately be expected. Now you are against both English and French. You truly are a francophone citizen of the world. Remember what you said in post #221. Absolutely I would not be concerned and why should I as English speaking Canadians are the large majority and French speakers have Quebec. That was a major controversy, where you had PM Pierre Trudeau a Quebec politician making major Canadian social changes without the consent of Canadians for the benefit of a minority French Quebec. How humiliating that was. You cannot expect to have it all. If French Quebec does not want to assimilate, then let them retain their official French languuage and the ROC their official English language. It really is no big deal. My constant rant????.... You are the one that keeps replying. I am just wondering where all the money is coming from to accomplish all this linguistic reform, since the feds and provinces are always complaining about how cash strapped they are. -

Your trust in politicians is astounding. My argument has been the lack of referendums and or plebicites relating to important political issues. I gave two important examples one relating to Trudeau's questionable political initatives (Official Language policy, Multicultural policy, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms) and the attack by politicians relating to the Sault Ste. Marie English language resolution. Both of these examples should have been left to Canadians to decide for themselves via referendums or plebicites. -

Well then, please inform us. Federalist PM Trudeau gave Quebec all the permission it needed (Official Language policy, Multicultural policy, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms) relating to Quebec,s perpetual language crisis and their inflated idea of their own political importance. The federal government (relating to permission) could use many different ways to encourage or discourage the linguistic course a province intends to pursue. Example: The Sault Ste. Marie language resolution, which resolved that English was the sole working language of city was attacked resulting with that resolution, eventually being struck down. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sault_Ste._Marie_language_resolution That is supposed be witty....unfortunately, I don't share your sense of humour. -

Which proves HOW CORRUPT the federal government is when it comes to allowing a single province to declare the language of that province official. To date only a single province in Canada (Quebec) has been permitted to do that, in conjunction with federal approval. The federal government by nature is pro-french and is badgering provinces and territories to promote French language services. I am not a bigot as I support a FREE and DEMOCRATIC CANADA. Canadians to-day are no better than serfs, controlled by their feudal master. I do not support federal protected groups, Jews, gays, Fancophones, immigrants, Muslims, native groups, but I respect the law. Your statement is nonsensical. Quebec plays by it's own rules and is NOT fully dominated or influenced by the federal government. The province of Ontario and all other provinces, territories and cities are under linguistic control by the federal government and in some provinces, lower levels of government, provincial and municipal. We are similar to a dictatorship...remember. -

Well, why don't you impress us and post your discovery. The difference is borderline. All I know we have the right to vote and our members of parliament DO NOT represent our political concerns, as they mostly tow the party line. Say DICTATOR ....real slow. -

Which is also known as employment equity. Absolutely! What is good for Quebec is good for Ontario. English is also the official language in Alberta and Saskatchewan. I very well know how a totalitarian government works. I know how Trudeau's 'Charter of Rights and Freedoms' seized power from Canada's citizens and permitted judges and other levels of government to dictate the terms of our freedoms. I also know corporate Canada would never allow the government to hold referendums that could fracture the country and cause civl unrest. This is why I say nothing short of a revolution or a government in financial dire straits, would be the only answer to correct Canada's failure as a democracy. -

By way of corrupt Nazi type language policies including parts of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. In governmental circles only and again by way of corrupt language policies. You have a hard time understanding that when a government imposes unwanted language laws without the consent of its citizens makes those laws corrupt Nazi type laws. In government circles only and again by way of corrupt Nazi type language laws. Mc.Guinty or no other provincial premier will ever make Ontario officially bilingual, that is if they, LOL, value their positon as premier. -

The Concise Oxford dictionary definition of apartheid..." A policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race." 'Word Web' deinition of apartheid...."A social policy or racial segregation involving political and economic and legal discrimination against people who are not Whites; the former official policy in South Africa". Just transpose Whites to French and you should be able to grasp the general idea. Your 'official bilingualism policy' in New Brunswick which is a governmental social policy is ample proof relating to a form of apartheid that exist in New Brunswick. What amazes me is the initial arrogance of the federal and other levels of government, prior to implementing any type of bilingualism policy, was to view minority Quebec as being segregated by English speaking Canada, when the truth was, minority Quebec refused to be assimilated. A referendum should have been implemented at that time on whether or not to retain Quebec in confederation rather than discriminate, with linguistic policies against English speaking Canada. Imposed linguistic social policies relating to French wording on private sector commercial signs is outright discrimination and has little to do with animosity. Simply for economic reasons. Why become bilingual when you don't have to. But in places like Ottawa Ontario, the French have been successful in establishing corrupt, discriminatory bilingual policies that detrimentally affect English speaking residents of Ottawa, relating to job opportunities. Lucky you! -
Oh happy day ....further alleged discrimination based on language and not to mention $7 dollar a day subsidized daycare cost taxpayers from a projected $230-million over five years to currently $1.7-billion per year. http://www.bulletinaylmer.com/page1.html

And how can you possibly know this for fact? And again you have provided no proof that this is indeed the case. It took me about 10 seconds to dig up this one little gem which shows that animosity does exist in New Brunswick. Sounds very similar to what Russell Ontario residents are experiencing. Russell is a small town just east of Ottawa Ontario. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/new-brunswick/story/2009/11/10/nb-dieppe-sign-bylaw-527.html You mean you have never heard of someone gaining employment or obtaining some sort of favours, political or otherwise by the corrupt actions of someone loyal to that individuals culture/language. Example: Personal initiative is destroyed when one cannot cope with the corrupt linguistic legislation or actions that undermine that persons ability to succeed in their jobs. Personal initiative can also be destroyed knowing that even if your language is the majority you will have a hard time finding employment because government propagated bilingualism has spread to private sector employers. Ottawa's main newspaper, every 8 months or so publish articles relating to the low moral in the federal public service. As a matter of fact there are three articles this weekend relating to bilingualism. -

Absolutely! Being forced to share a culture discriminates, creates animosity and opens new doors to favouritism and destroys personal initiative. -
Can't compete with immigrants.
Leafless replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada's wealth is dependent on other countries manufactured items. As their economies become more successful, ours declines. Last time I checked Canada's GDP is generated by 75% services and only 15% manufacturing. We are in the process of self obliteration. Immigration will be outmoded along with just about everything else. -

Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
It certainly appears that way, including being treated as someone without a culture and their linguistic place in Canadian society legally dictated by government. Heil Hitler! Brain wash English speaking Canadians some more...."does not exist"...sure. Trudeau started the linguistic trend using the old I.I.DI.N. I read about somewhere, Infiltrate, Indoctrinate, Demoralize, Intimidate then follows NORMALIZATION, relating to discriminatory language policies.
