US plans for war with Iran are ready
Signals.Cpl replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Because the difference between the US and Iran is that the US has not said they want a whole race dead, have not called for the destruction of a nation and its citizens. Letting nations that makes it their national policy to destroy millions of lives have nukes can't possibly end well. -
Is this what they teach high school kids this days?

So you are trying to get an answer that suits you and thus you are attempting to twist everything I post? There is the right interpretation and then there is your interpretation, yours is clouded by anti-Harper feelings and thus a simple comment like this seems to prove your theories go ahead play that game I have said my thoughts on this twist them to suit your agenda.

The UN was created with the main Idea to prevent wars from occurring. It failed, miserably because it was designed to fail. Five nations control the final say over what happens, if it does not directly benefit them or threaten them in any way shape or form they make a half-ass effort, act late, or not at all e.g.. Rwanda. The concept of the UN and peacekeeping are beautiful, but their execution leave a lot to be desired. Until the UN restructured to be more democratic in its business then it would become relevant.
-
I think Rwanda, Somalia, the Balkans and the dozens of other places the UN has failed and the millions of people who have died as a result might disagree, that is if they weren't to busy killing each other and/or dying.

They are not targeting one group they are targeting people/groups who break the law. If the minister had said this does not affect you, that one thing. We are not targeting you means its not directed specifically for or at you, but you still will be affected by this change.
-
Where is the source that its the greatest country in the world to live in? I have some people who might disagree, you know Americans, Canadians, British, Germans...
-
How about this, what does it mean to YOU? And then we can tell you how wrong you are.
-
A police officer isn't targeting me, he is targeting speeders and he stops me because I was speeding. Does not mean because he wasn't targeting me it won't affect me. What the Minister said was paraphrasing, don't feel like we are out to get you, we are out to get everyone who abuses the system so its not directed at you specifically.
-
You are right, its not funny, its hilarious.
-
Well we are letting you know that you are wrong...
-
All I needed to know, for 0 years... Awesome...
-
Is this the comment you were referring to? Because it seems to me that he is saying its not meant for one type of offender and thus they are not being targeted, they just happen to fall in the category with all the other people and industries that might abuse this.

Yeah but he doesn't need to beat you in math, the imaginary rich kid needs to be prepared for the test, I can have 30% of your knowledge, but if I have a tutor spoon feed me the 30% that matters I have an advantage. I had a professor who used to say, "You will use on a daily basis only about 10%-15% of the things I teach you in this class, the problem is I won't tell you which 15% it is." If you are tutored based on what you will be asked for the test then the advantage falls on you, more money=better tutors, more money also=more tutoring.

I think that is mostly related to military service rather then breaking the law.

Tougher punishment for career criminals
Signals.Cpl replied to Signals.Cpl's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Its not a one size fits all. We should make sure that the crime is punished according to the impact. Violent crimes should be judged separately from non-violent crimes but ultimately stealing my POS car does not warrant a life in prison, stealing 20,30 or 70 of them does as the criminal has shown beyond a doubt they are unable or unwilling to observe the rules of society. Non violent crimes will progressively get tougher sentences based on the impact, steal my wallet and max out my debit and credit cards, one sentence. Steal my identity and add hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, different story serious punishment. Stealing a lot of people's life savings earns you a life in prison. Simple as that, at some point we stop looking at rehabilitation and start looking at making you pay for your crimes and keep you away from society. -
Sorry misread that as America...
