  1. I dont think the ranks are full ranks, meaning that they would be the Equivalent of acting/lacking where he cant exercise authority in the rank until he meets the prerequisites if he ever does. I suspect that the ranks carry leadership courses and such so if he were to stay in the army he will have to most likely complete them before he is anything but acting/lacking in the rank.
  2. It is the US governments policy that those who are POW's or MIA would continue to receive benefits while in captivity:
  3. Again though, I don't see any evidence other than your statement to support that, I read that the defence tried to lower it to second degree due to the circumstances the women were in before the murder and due to childhood trauma but nowhere did I read it was because he was undercover.
  4. Crazy is someone who has an irrational hatred for a person, group or an institution but knows the difference between right and wrong. Insane is when someone does not know the difference between right and wrong. Bourque might have hatred for the police due to any number of reasons, but the end result is that if he knew right from wrong he was not insane. Besides my definition of crazy is pretty broad but my definition of insane is very narrow, you don't know the difference between right and wrong you fall in the insane category.
  5. Looking after the victim and justice prevailing are often one and the same, locking up a pedophile for his crimes is looking after the victims and serving the justice system. When murderers are allowed to walk out of no security prison the system does not work. When you let someone with 19 DUI's run free with minimal jail time the system fails. The justice system is too lenient to violent criminals, and criminals who destroy lives one way or another. We need a system were repeat offenders are given ever increasing sentences for their crimes and are forced to serve the full sentence rather than giving them short sentences that accomplish nothing but keep them fed, clothes and sheltered for a short period of time.
  6. Was it because he was under cover, or was it because of other circumstances? Nowhere did I find any evidence that they were found guilty of second degree because he was undercover...
  7. Now replace Bourque and police with women and Elliot Rodgers and tell me if this makes any sense what so ever? You are saying that that the Police were responsible for the actions of Bourque? Doubtful, I know enough people who hate the police and 99% of them have no reason to hate the police other than their own stupidity. I dont fear the police, and I don't know anyone that fears the police, well anyone that doesn't break the law on a regular basis. Reality is that there is police brutality but it is nowhere nearly as widespread as you seem to believe. The US has 700,000+ police officers, Canada has 60,000+ police officers, when one of them screws up we hear about it when they do their job every single day its not newsworthy enough to be of any value. Seeking out video's of police brutality does not indicate that police brutality is rampant in either the US or Canada it means you went out and searched for the specific issue. Really? So Marc Lépine was not crazy, the women actually caused it? He deliberately targeted women and the men were in no real danger, so if I am following your logic the women asked for it?
  8. Where are these cases you speak of?
  9. Flip flopping are we now? You basically accused the RCMP of being unprofessional as a whole simply because of a handful of individuals and their actions. If you don't know what you are arguing about how should I know what you are arguing about?
  10. Spin what back? The courts protect the criminals by giving them short sentences in cushy jails, they sure as hell are not looking out for the victims, and they are definitely not looking out for the general public.
  11. Wasn't the same? What is it if its not the same as murder?
  12. They are likely leaving this year, they don't want to leave their one and only Afghan War POW in Taliban hands. The idea of not leaving a man behind is there regardless of your actions. The Khadr terrorist clan on the other hand is not owed anything by the US or Canada.
  13. Which parties do the courts protect? The criminals? Because I can name more than a few criminals who got off easy.
  14. What kind of logic is the "argument" that if you are armed and killed its not murder? Or that its not quite the same as murdering an unarmed person?
  15. Sorry but are you trying to prove my point? I don't get this? Are you arguing against yourself?
  16. The NRA says a lot of things, and we all know how much sense most of their ideas make.
  17. So we should all be armed then? You are saying that I should go buy a pistol and have it with me at all times?
  18. So its not a crime if the person is armed? Was it a duel gone wrong?
  19. Not motivated by a difference of opinion, its motivated by your posts that are rants which have absolutely nothing to do with the subject and to top it off you provide no factual support for your "opinions". And I don't see how it would be any different than if he went and shot up a bunch of innocent kids in a school. The personal opinions and feelings of police officers will be held in check and those who cannot hold their personal feelings in check will be relieved of their jobs. Soldiers in combat deal with prisoners who days, hours or even minutes before had killed their fellow soldiers and they go ahead and do their jobs regardless of what they would rather do with the prisoner. You can report me, but me calling you a troll is not a "personal attack" its statement of fact. This guy shooting police officers has nothing to do with the US or video games or or war movies or little green men from Mars. If you have any understanding of history you would know that people have been committing murder and spree killings long before the US was a nation, true the tools were different but the crime was not. You seem to hate the US and therefore you want to attribute every crime, every evil or negative action to them but fail to see that humans have been committing violent crimes for thousands of years before the US was a nation and will if Humanity survives be committing violent crimes for thousands of years after the US ceases to be a nation. This is why I state the fact that you are a troll, you brought absolutely nothing to the discussion but a rant on how the US caused this with their wars, video games, movies etc... and you provide zero evidence to back up your incoherent accusations.
  20. There is 19,000 RCMP officers, the actions of one, two or even 20 officers do not represent the entire organization. Just like one teacher in Toronto caught sleeping with an underage student does not mean that all teachers will be sleeping with underage students. Just like one NDP MP stealing an expensive ring does not mean all NDP MP's are thief's.
  21. So in your eyes a politician be it the PM or an MP is guilty until proven innocent? They don't deserve due process? I can have an opinion on Mulcair and his guilt or innocence on a particular crime but cant have one here? How do you plan on suppressing my freedom of thought and speech?
  22. The RCMP is a professional Organization and its officers are professionals who would untimely do their job regardless of their personal feelings about the prisoner. I love how you keep trolling, if you want to actually add anything to this conversation why don't you try to substantiate some of those rants?
  23. Two separate entities, my opinion does not have any weight with the courts. Next time you accuse PM Harper of doing something even though the courts have not found him guilty of the crime follow your own suggestion...
  24. Gee, is it just me or do you keep accusing everyone of being a piss poor debater? I didn't know you were such a strong supporter of the gun lobby... In the eyes of anyone with two brain cells to rub together this guy is guilty of the crime and no one can tell me that anyone but this guy instigated it because he went to confront the police officers heavily armed, likely having more firepower than all 5 officers combined. You can do your troll song and dance, but no one here is seriously saying we forgo due process but at the end of the day the evidence we have is pretty damning. Or would you like to suggest the guy was having a nice stroll through the neighbourhood with his gun collection on him and the cops brutally attacked him forcing him to defend himself?
  25. They are MPs with responsibilities to their ridings as well so they cant spend all of their time in Ottawa and completely ignore their own riding and constituents.
