Should 16 years old be allowed to vote?
tducey82 replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I disagree with this, we have enough trouble getting people 18 and over to vote, let's work on getting those people to vote before he lower the voting age. -

Harper's conservatives and erosion of Canadian politics
tducey82 replied to juzt4me's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yeah, this government with a majority has still done a good job and has not done the wackjob things many predicted they'd do with a majority. -
Yes I think he did. Ovie's a good player but he needs to be more than a goal scorer, let's see how he performs under Dale Hunter.

Ron Paul should make things interesting throughout the Republican primary but I doubt very much he'll ever become US president.

The history the Liberals have in this country you knew eventually they'd come back. If they can convince Dalton Mcguinty to become their leader for 2015 I think that they could make substansital gains, in any event I still think they are the official opposition after the next election.

How Similar are your views to those around you?
tducey82 replied to Michael Hardner's topic in Political Philosophy
Federally my politics are different than the rest of my family. I like PM Harper and vote for him all the time, the rest of my family not so much. Provincially most of me and my family are PC's. -
The rest of the world is in poor shape at the moment. I think what's happening here in Canada is the same thing that is happening throughout the rest of the world. As a matter of fact I think Canada's in far better shape than a lot of other countries.

Horvath looks to remove HST from Hydro/Heating

It's a good idea that will save Ontario consumers money, we have a similar system here in Newfoundland which has been met with rave reviews. -
Aside from Mulcair and perhaps Dewar the NDP leadership candidates look less than stellar. I fully expect their numbers to start going down soon and the Liberals to regain opposition again in 2015.

Former Vancouver mayors call for legalizing Marijuana
tducey82 replied to olp1fan's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I don't smoke marijuana and at 29 probably never will but it's to the point now where a lot of people are doing it and not hurting anyone, why shouldn't it be legalized? -
Quebec MPs Don't Know the Anthem?
tducey82 replied to Wild Bill's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
They should know it in at least 1 of the languages. I mean they're representing their riding and country as a MP, it's pretty unforgivable IMO that they don't know the anthem. -
At this point I doubt Flaherty has leadership aspirations. He turns 62 next month and I figure he's on his last term federally. I can see Elliott replacing Flaherty on the federal level in fact in 2015 but not so Flaherty can run as provincial leader.

Funny video of Conservative nodding off in Parliament

I'm a Conservative but Rob Anders is not a favourite of mine. The guy did call Nelson Mandela a terrorist and faling asleep on the job makes him look even worse.
