Why...because they didn't entirely know what they were dealing with. The most important job of any government, company, school or anything else is to protect its people. They errored on the side of caution as they should have. WTF are you talking about? Playing expert while having hindsight is pretty easy isn't it....

First Nations Summit Ends In Disaster For Carney
LinkSoul60 replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes, it is a question and thanks for answering. No, it wouldn't be a topic had the conservatives won. -
You obviously didn't read the part - 'It's peoples choice whether they want to get vaccinated or not, but if they potentially compromise others because of that choice then that's where the mandating of the vaccine and restrictions rightfully apply'. Go cry about the misdeeds to fools and conspiracies with someone else.

But to the question.... Would this even be a topic if the conservatives had won? Answer - no it wouldn't. I want to leave Canada because we didn't win, again 🥲 -
Getting the vaccine wasn't mandated to everyone. It was a choice that 80% of the population did. Going outside wasn't restricted at all...indoor settings were. It's peoples choice whether they want to get vaccinated or not, but if they potentially compromise others because of that choice then that's where the mandating of the vaccine and restrictions rightfully apply. Of the G10 countries Canada managed the pandemic second best behind Japan so the government did their job....protecting its citizens. As far as the subject of lockdowns.... Houston is doing the right thing... siding with caution.

It's close because some Albertans are crying because they lost a federal election again? I disagree... Do you think the topic would have been raised if the conservatives had won.... I don't, which says this is just 'sour grapes'. Canada with all its provinces are going to be here long after you and I are no longer. -
Many Canadian's are looking for alternatives to US products.... tariffed or not. Carney's doing the right thing so far. He's dealing with a 79 year old child who wets his pants when things don't go his way and/or people retaliate. All tariff's clicked in today for the US so only a matter of time before inflation starts to become noticeable and pressure mounts on Trump....assuming of course he doesn't fire everyone and hires lackeys to provide 'his' data.

It's not going to happen so a moot point. Funny that it's only hardcore conservatives crying again about this because they lost again. Time to get over it and move on.... -
Yeah just replied to that... Like I said, I understand it but don't see it happening as a serious National discussion. If there was real parity on population only we'd have 3 provinces. West, Ontario and East. Your data is a bit old, but still the smaller numbers.... PEI has 178k. SK has 1.2M and MB has 1.5M. These aren't big provinces at all....but that's who were are. I don't know the government spends by province or the inequities. On my to do list...

Full disclosure....no idea what federal spend % is by province or inequities. Like I said to blackbird though, I understand his points but from my perspective whether right or wrong, I don't see why we should have amalgamation because of our populations. I'm not sure what that would accomplish. Amounts of Federal assistance wouldn't change because a province's name. If it was really a thought though, the most equitable way would be 3 provinces. That wouldn't change how the government allocates spending though. Again, my 2 cents....

So if you're aware that tariffs are taxes that you eventually pay for, why would you be in favour of them when you commented on massive inflation a second ago? I understand how consumer works. Your math is a little too simple though. Is this yours, or is there a source of this? The covid pandemic skews pretty much all data, but looking at the chart you referenced for manufacturing jobs Biden's economy did very well and a bit better than Trumps, albeit with the same inflation felt but the rest of worlds countries.

If you're capable, think.... This is a long overdue commitment to NATO, not Trump regardless if he was loud about this with NATO or not. That's not caving fool....it's honouring a freaking commitment we should have been doing years ago, and that I'm sure partisan hacks like you chirped about. But you suggest that we should just walk away from our NATO alliance and go it alone. Sure.... The Toronto Sun, no bias slant there at all. You should have read closer and thought about it....“It’s a strategic play on the government’s part to not damage the Canadian economy.” You realize that tariffs are a tax, right? Who said that Carney called Ford? The fact was it's Ford and was a Trump-like that he wouldn't have followed through on. What other things?
