User's obvious transgender fetish notwithstanding, most of this is not about hedonism. A. The people with the wherewithal to actually form relationships and plan their life and get decent jobs etc are often waiting until they are settled into those jobs to start having kids and that's basically too late. It often means just one or maybe two kids before the woman gets too old. B. Then you have the large numbers of society who just aren't baby making material in one way or another. They aren't in relationships but want to be, they aren't in relationships but aren't even looking, they are in relationships but don't want kids. Some of group B here will end up having kids anyway. Neither of these groups is a recipe for a sustainable population.

The ignore feature is extremely lame unless against spam bots or unmoderated trolls. I think it's important to bear witness to their douchbaggery. To desensitize ones self to their presence and thus strengthen the fortitude needed to coexist with such people in the world without being moved to kneejerk reactions. If the info you found is accurate that's quite a leap from other predictions that have long been forcasting that the tipping point won't happen until after 2100 (such as the current census bereau data published in 2023). But I agree that the conditions leading toward this population decline are accelerating and I wouldn't be shocked if the decline becomes so rapid that it emerges as a major policy concern.

I agree, my parents are of an age where they are frequently needing intense health care services. My mom is in at-home hospice etc. It's already a situation where almost all of her doctors, nurses, and nursing aides even here in suburban Iowa are immigrants and even retired people filling in. And the population over 65 is not yet even at 20%. By the time that percentage doubles I think the number of elderly people who will die in their homes after quietly suffering alone uncared for could be much higher and life expectancy much lower.

For real. Trying to talk to someone who is obviously so miserable and suffering from untreated mental health problems is sad. But at the same time it's hard to feel empathy for someone so unlikable. I have a biopolar family member who is similarly loathsome to everyone. I get the same vibes from this guy.
