Tim Walz Lied About His Military Service
Hodad replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This is you admitting you have no Earthly clue-- but he musta' done somethin' illegal! Whenever you people are asked to substantiate any of the things you see in your outrage bubble it's always the same result. -

Yes, I'm familiar with the law. You drop a naked link here as if it means something. We all know the law exists. You're proposing that we should prosecute a man. I'm asking you to articulate some way in which Walz has broken the law. It's like pulling teeth. -

Yes, Walz did know what the bill was all about. The problem is that what you claim he did is NOT IN THE BILL. And this "stolen valor" line of attack is just pure nonsense. And you're not even content with political mudslinging. You want him prosecuted? Great, what law do you propose he has broken, you loon? Honestly you people are unhinged. -

Yes, everything funded by the state is funded by the citizens. But actual spending decisions are made at multiple levels throughout the government. You made the claim that Walz installed tampon machines in boys bathrooms. If that happens, it's simply not a decision that a governor makes. That's why you cannot provide citation for it. If you want to say what Walz did or supported, just point to the bill. There is nothing in the bill about tampon machines in boys restrooms. So stop making that claim. Focus up and track the conversation. -

Again, IF they even exist, they would have been decisions made at the school or district level and paid for by an individual school or school district. Again, if you want to know what Walz signed, read the bill. -

I'm sure you can cite evidence for this claim you heard on Fox (or wherever) and just started repeating? If a school had a trans student they may have accommodated that student, but that's not really in the governor's purview. -

The law doesn't say anything about installing machines in boys restrooms. You're welcome to read it, but that's just made up nonsense. There is no direction for where and how these things are made available except that they must be available in the restrooms that menstruating students use regularly. 28 states have such laws and the point is to combat a major driver of anxiety and absenteeism--and schools are concerned with student welfare on this matter regardless how a student identifies in terms of gender. Students need to be in school, in class any ready to learn. Again, 28 states, and broad bipartisan support. You guys think you're tagging Walz with something embarrassing, but really you're just reminding people of a clear win for Walz and the students. -
The description says that people who are observed are in the list for some undisclosed period of time. Chances are, she travels frequently and would have been observed multiple times. If she is, in fact,on the Quiet Skies list, I have no idea what she or her husband did to get on the list, nor how long the observation period is, no how either of those compare to what's typical for the program, but it's at least explainable and finite. She hasn't been added to any terrorist watch list. I think this is probably not a good program on constitutional grounds, and I'm deeply skeptical that it's of any value. I'd need some compelling data to change my mind on that. If Gabbard wants to make a run at it, fine, but I'm even more skeptical of unfounded claims that this is political retribution.

The inanity (or insanity) of the OP aside, the white settlers in the colonies were called Americans long before there was a United States of America after which they might have called themselves. They were the English citizens living in the Americas. Couple that with an (in)healthy dose of ethnocentrism and there you have it. We're Americans.

Lol. You think people who agree with you are intelligent (when it's convenient). Most people are going to reverse that correlation. Again, you argument is literally that Floyd telling the police that he can't breathe makes it more reasonable for them to kneel on his neck until he's dead. Unbelievably stupid.

Just set a new benchmark for "dumbest thread starter." -
Oh, thanks for spamming that video from you copy and paste list again! I have been desperate to know if random dudes on YouTube still have the same opinion they had last time. "Hey, this guy says he's having trouble breathing. What should we do?" "Let's kneel on his neck for almost 10 minutes and see if he's telling the truth. What could go wrong?" ^^You'd have to be abysmally stood to argue that that information does anything but exacerbate the egregiousness. Yet you always raise your hands for these missions.

For anybody who cares, here's what the Quiet Skies program is. As expected, we're getting a sliver of the story. Quiet Skies is not any kind of planned, permanent list. It's essentially spot checks that trigger temporary observation. It's for people who ARE NOT on any terrorist watch lists. TSA personnel are at airports, watching. They see something-- some behavioral trigger on their list (usually innocent) or some eyebrow raiser like leaving a in your gun carry on--and then afterward they observe that individual for a period of time/travel until they are cleared. I don't especially like the sound of this program (which dates back to at least 2018) but it's not any sort of retribution. Any one of us could could do something to trigger a period of scrutiny under this program.

They aren't biased against conservatives, they are biased against misinformation and disinformation, in which conservatives happen to wallow lustily. I mean, Jeebus, look at this forum. Any random nonsense from Twitter (or anywhere else) is taken as gospel, repeated and re-shared by the conservative crowd without concern for truth or accuracy.

Like I said, as long as you think you intransigence is worth the body count you'll have a clear conscience. There are no "installation costs" in that bill. And what do they get for their $2? What are they trying to achieve? -

Close your eyes if you like, but it won't change the reality. These kids die because people like you aggressively reject an internal truth that they feel so strongly that, for many, it becomes a matter of life and death. You don't understand it. You don't respect it. So you're content to let them suffer and die and feel righteous while doing it. When instead you could make a harmless concession--a basic courtesy--to improve and even save their lives. I don't "understand" clinical depression. I have a hard time empathizing with that condition. But I do understand that those feelings are real and critical to the people experiencing them. And I understand that the way I respond to and engage with individuals experiencing clinical depression is, literally, a matter of life and death. So I make the small, harmless concessions and do and say the things to keep those people alive. I don't have to understand it. I just have to do the simple, decent thing. -

You have more than a clue? Great! Why don't you tell us the costs and benefits of the tampon bill? -

Fair enough. Next time they find the body of a bullied trans teen in your town you can feel good knowing that you didn't give 'em an inch, didn't "further their delusion." You're kind of the hero in this story. Not everyone will get that. Not the heartbroken, sobbing parents or the devastated siblings. And not the friends and classmates. But you'll know that the important thing is that you didn't give in and respect their desperate, delusional identity.👍 -

Like I said, you didn't have a clue and don't want one. But please, keep telling the rest of America about the tampon bill. We should shout it from the rooftops. Walz will own the shit out of that story. -

No, it actually really smart policy. But you have no idea what it's about. And you're not curious enough to learn. Your outage machine told you to be outraged so you will. -

I guess if you want to make some poor kids already hard life even harder, that's up to you. Nobody can force you to be a decent person. I hope you at least derive a lot of satisfaction for it. The social torment those kids receive translates to a high suicide rate. But if it makes your life considerably better to treat them that way, maybe it's worth it.🤷♂️ -

See, you have no idea what that bill was about. "They" who? The only reason there would be tampons in a "boy's restroom" would be if a person who menstruates used that restroom.
