Ukraine Hoax Revealed
Hodad replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Goddamn, man. Stop lying for a second and have a smidgen of decency. This is from YOUR OWN OP: “I do not have direct knowledge of private comments or communications by the President,” the alleged whistleblower, who claimed Trump improperly tried to pressure Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate Hunter Biden, admitted in his initial August 2019 intake form. Do you not read the shit you post? Or do you think other people won't bother? -- You're apparently right on the latter, because we're a dozen posts in of just your buddies spanking it without anyone calling you on your bullshit. Again, complete bullshit. 1. The law, passed in 1998 specifically allows for second hand information. 2. The "original" form also specifically allowed whistleblowers to specify how they had received the information. Note the second option: “I have personal and/or direct knowledge of events or records involved”; “Other employees have told me about events or records involved”; or “Other source(s) (please explain).” 3. The "they" you think are in on this nonexistent conspiracy is the Trump administration. As usual, you are just parroting the crap politicians say to Fox hosts. Not a bit of these accusations are new or revelatory, and most of them are pure fiction. No basis in fact whatsoever. He absolutely farking did, you cultist. It's not even a question. The almost-transcript was bad enough, validating everything in the whistleblower complaint and the testimony from Trump's own people was utterly and unequivocally damning. Read the congressional record. Gordon Sondland (Trump's EU ambassador): "I know that members of this committee have frequently framed these complicated issues in the form of a simple question: Was there a 'quid pro quo?' As I testified previously, with regard to the requested White House call and White House meeting, the answer is yes." "I told Mr. Yermak that I believed that the resumption of U.S. aid would likely not occur until Ukraine took some kind of action on the public statement that we had been discussing for many weeks" (<-- he explicitly told Ukraine the conditions of the quid-pro-quo!) (and everybody knew about it.) "In the absence of any credible explanation for the suspension of aid, I later came to believe that the resumption of security aid would not occur until there was a public statement from Ukraine committing to the investigations of the 2016 elections and Burisma, as Mr. Giuliani had demanded. I shared concerns of the potential quid pro quo regarding the security aid with Senator Ron Johnson, and I also shared my concerns with the Ukrainians. Finally, at all times I was acting in good faith -- I was acting in good faith. As a Presidential appointee, I followed the directions of the President. We worked with Mr. Giuliani because the President directed us to do so." William Taylor (the top diplomat in Ukraine): "I think it's crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign." Context: Ambassador Taylor also described a comment that you (Sondland) made where you were trying to explain what President Trump's view of this was. And you said that President Trump is a businessman, when a businessman is about to sign a check to someone who owes him something, the businessman asks the person to pay up before signing the check. (Pay up = publicly announcing an investigation.) Although, really, I don't know why I bother. If you're not reading the articles you post, you damn sure aren't going to read the congressional record. -- Google any of that however you like. Facts are facts. Trump was withholding military aid to extract campaign favors from Ukraine. Everybody knew it. The case was overwhelming. The ONLY reason Trump wasn't convicted is because Senate Republicans utterly failed in their responsibility to the American people, choosing partisan protection instead of doing their damn job. -

^^This is completely asinine. Your starting premise is that it is right, fair and just for Putin to dictate how their neighbors trade, how they model their government and with whom they ally themselves. And if Russia's neighbors don't do as it says, they are forcing Russia to attack them. Are you, by any chance, a wife beater? It's a fact that Russia is a greedy, threatening, menacing neighbor. It is a fact that Ukraine did not want to be annexed by by Russia, and so sought trade and DEFENSIVE alliance with like minded nations. It is a fact that Russia's aggression validated exactly the expressed fear. There is nobody to blame for this war buy Putin. In the past year, Trump has waged economic warfare on Canada. He has also threatened allies with military force. Is the US a good neighbor to Canada right now? Or are we abusive and menacing? Should Canada be free to form new trade alliances in light of US hostility? Or is Canada "forcing" Trump to invade Canada? If you were afraid your sketchy neighbor was casing your house and you bought a gun for self protection, are you forcing your neighbor to attack you and steal your things? When you are trying to protect yourself from your neighbor, are you starting a war? Are you causing your own robbery by trying to protect yourself from a robbery? Your attitude is bizarre. -

The internet isn't "rife" with it. You search for it. You are algorithmically spook fed it. It's called confirmation bias. And it's quite dangerous for people who don't know how the internet works or how to vet information. The internet helps all kinds of kooks find each other, creating their own alternate realities and creating the false impression that they are so crazy after all. Unfortunately, they are that crazy, and would benefit from a world that told them as much. The difference between you and the crazy Q-Anon kooks standing outside overnight waiting for JFK and Jesus to return from the dead is that you didn't search for that particular bit of insanity. You searched for something else instead. -

Sorry to throw cold water on your circle jerk, but what's got you all hot and bothered is half false and half bullshit. Literally, the original whistleblower complaint clearly stated that it was second hand information. This is not secret or new news. And whistleblower protection has always included hearsay. There was no secret rule change. -- And, by the way, this is also the standard anywhere in corporate America. And internal communications evaluating and debating the quality of the complaint are not nefarious. Rather, it's an example of the process working exactly as it should. And none of it changes the fact that Trump tried to trade weapons and aid for campaign aid from a foreign official. As always, Trump selling out America and Americans for his own personal gain. -

1. It doesn't matter how many people live in Russia. Regarding geopolitics, Putin is Russia right now. He is the politics. He is the military. He makes the decisions. 2. Putin is not a communist, but he certainly is a dictator. I have no particular interest in any of those people, nor have I ever displayed any. Just because you beta biatches are constantly looking for a "strongman" to adore doesn't mean the rest of us are interested in a cult of personality. -

Look, a massive a-hole discovers empathy for the very first time... and employs it to empathize with another massive a-hole. Poor Putin. People don't want to ally themselves with the murderous, manipulative, authoritarian, kleptocrat? Say it ain't so? But he deserves allies! It doesn't matter what other countries want or what kind of governments they want. Putin deserves them. And if they don't want to be friends with him, he should invade them. And then he's the good guy in that scenario. Holy shit, you are delusional. -
No, it's fact. Again, not my fault that you can't separate fact from political rhetoric. Being gullible isn't fatal as you're aware of it and take the extra time to work through issues and decision. Good luck with that.

So you're saying I should just stay off the internet? lol You're not wrong. It's a depressing place.
-
Lol, no, Biden did NOT have an open border policy. You're just lying. As a reminder, that administration is turning away a higher percentage of would-be immigrants than Trump is. You just swallowed all the kool aid. Trump, on the other hand, definitively broke the law by halting asylum processing. US law guarantees a right to seek protection. Suuuuure you are. So it would be cool with you if we eliminate the caps and make all the immigration legal? Just a flip of the switch, right?🙂 It did, actually. It allocated resources exactly where we needed them to quickly process cases right at the border and either grant asylum or reject people right back across. Everyone proceeding through proper legal channels because the bottlenecks had been removed. And yes, as above, Trump magically "solved" the issue by breaking the law. That's one of the reasons they were trying to change the law. Not very. So stop doing it. Give people a way to legally get the help they need instead of forcing them through illegal channels. These are people fleeing rape, violence and death. You cannot farking pretend that closing the door is helping them. The truth is that you don't particularly care. You just though that would be a clever way of demonizing "the other side." It wasn't. Talk about a 180. MAGA cultist is now proposing the the best way to help desperate people banging on our doors for asylum is to spend billions (trillions?) of dollars and several decades to make Latin America great again? MLAGA? You're going to have to reprint your merch. Or perhaps you're just being disingenuous. 💡

Yes, every victim has a family and a story and people who care about them. But that's the point: every victim of crime shares that characteristic. There is nothing that sets them apart from other victims. They are not more statistically significant. It's really not my fault that you're bad at logic and worse at math. Certainly doesn't make me a "traitor.

These empty threads are terrible. Worse, actually, than the threads about some rando's post on social media. What is the point?

Trump's Threat Worked - Iran Caved
Hodad replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Trump: The only way this war ends is with Iran's unconditional surrender! Iran: How about a ceasefire and these 10 conditions that are great for us? Trump: Okay! @WestCanMan: Trump wins! Fuel for my spank bank! -
Like saying you have a better umbrella because it's not raining as often. -- Biden did enforce the law. You're selling fiction. No, it addressed the pain points and put the resources exactly where they need them. You don't like immigration. We get it. But the bi-partisan, republican-led bill wasn't crap. It was generally effective. It just wasn't designed to do what YOU wanted. Your version of concerned about their well being is to just close the door and muffle the screams. We have very different values. Mine just happen to align the humanitarian and the economic. I did not. And there is no 180 here. Try reading.
-
A. The law was enforced, you just want a different law. B. A sweeping revision to the law on the verge of passing before Trump killed it to keep the issue for his campaign. C. Neither of those facts change the appetite--the desperation--of people to come here by whatever means possible. And therefore it's irrelevant to your faux concern about the violence and sexual violence inflicted on these desperate people. Bottom line is that an uncontrolled border is a problem. People coming here to work is not a problem--in fact we benefit significantly from it. We should be looking for smarter ways to manage the situation, not xenophobic propaganda.
-
Definitely we should outlaw illegal immigration. If we make illegal immigration illegal then no one will try to come to the US.

Trump's Threat Worked - Iran Caved
Hodad replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'm sure that Trump's rotten rectum is packed full of clues. I'm sure that's why you climbed inside. Honestly, it's ridiculous how easily and eagerly you buy into this administration's utter nonsense. In no way shape or form was Iranian military a threat to the US. That's asinine. Terrorists, on the other hand, are a legitimate threat. And we've just made a LOT more of those. Watch out for Iranian drones man. You can never be too careful. Maybe sleep UNDER you Mom's bed tonight. -
What's your solution for that? I don't ignore the crime. It's just not a crime of any special significance. If immigrants were highly criminal, that would be worth discussing. But they're not. So, again, come up with a better argument.
-
No, you're mad, shark lover! I'm not mad. It's just a really stupid thread. Like creating a thread about how someone with red hair committed a crime and thinking it's a good argument to ban people with red hair. The logical fallacy (well, the biggest one) is called misleading vividness. There are criminals in any population, but criminality is actually lower in immigrant populations. Find a better argument.

I'm sure you'll sleep much more soundly knowing that the big bad Iranian navy isn't coming for you. What a damn relief. Praise be to Trump for saving us! 🙄 -
America's shame: A Tragic Fall from Grace
Hodad replied to Hodad's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Eh, math is math. If you've got a problem with it, take it up with the definition of "average." Roughly half the country got suckered by the Big Lie--without a shred of evidence to support it. It's not because they're smart. -
Trump's Threat Worked - Iran Caved
Hodad replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
How much tea do they have in their cupboards? Are they low on ketchup? Like your list above, those things are completely irrelevant to us. They weren't a threat before and they aren't a threat now. The whole asinine schtick is to Make America Great Again. We made Iran worse. Okay. But what did we do for America? From oil prices to the stock market to international relationships and credibility, to seeding another generation of terrorists, I can list a lot of way that this misadventure has hurt the US. But we haven't gained a thing. As I've stated before, nobody really wants a nuclear Iran. And there's a good chance we've reversed or slowed progress there, but even that was already a manageable situation through other avenues like the deal Trump tore up. Or, worst case, a military coalition. The churn and spin on this thing is huge, but in practical terms, we're worse off than when we started. And the ceasefire may have already fallen apart. -

This is amazing news! The art of the deal! We're almost back to where we were before the "war" started! (This is how someone bankrupts a casino, folks.)
