While I understand your sentiment, I also think you miss the big picture. Corporations, regardless of that they produce, are there to help investors. The investors, whether you like it or not is you. You or pension or bank savings or TFSA or RRSP etc, even Canada pension invest in corporations and make money off their profits. Also, considering Canada imports 90 or more% of it's produce for a great portion of the year, we are burdened by the cost of producing in the countries where we get the produce from. Their labour rates and expenses in production have risen as well. Also, once the product hits the border, they are susceptible to our taxes (carbon tax , our labour rtes, our union demands, plus all other Canadian taxes) during delivery, warehousing, distribution and sales. Lasty, the lower our dollar goes, the higher our imports cost .So, it is not just corporate greed that accounts for higher prices. The entire supply chaoin has dramatically increased prices. I feel the cost of all this in my wallet and am not happy but, I cannot blame one sector for the increase. It is a big chain of event.
