If the usa is wise...and we'll see if that's the case...they will drop all the pretense and simply buy Cuba. 1. Drop the restrictions. 2. Begin investing in both modernization and military build up. Within a decade, Cuba would become a favorite vacation spot for Americans and a valuable military installation. PLUS...Cuban cigars would once again be legal in The States. A bonus.

For me, it's always been an economics issue. We had a global pandemic freakout which seriously hampered the global economies. So in an act of abject stupidity, our governments decided to regulate fossil fuel production and tax it's usage. The result has been a disaster. And for what? A crisis that isn't.

1. It doesn't need to be disproven. It's not a major issue. 2&3. The planet is an oil making system. We're hardly running short of it at all. Were we simply discussing causes, that would be easy. But in trying to avert a perceived problem, we've panicked and caused undue suffering on everyone. THAT is the problem.

We also know that none of this proves there is an issue, nor that the CO2 is the only factor involved. In fact, we know it isn't the only factor. We also know that our energy consumption and requirements are increasing and that the "solutions" attempted have imposed inflation on a global scale. So if your goal is to cause panic and the final destruction of the middle-class, you're doing a bang-up job. Nothing more.

Better than you apparently. Taxes are unavoidable charges by a government. E.G. Sales Tax. A person must pay the Sales Tax in order to purchase any product. There is no choice. Both duty and tariffs are not mandatory. A person must choose to purchase things abroad in order to incur the payment. Said person could have chosen to purchase the item locally but did not. I've read the attempt to equate duty and tariff with tax by calling them "indirect taxation". That's nothing but a warping of words to satisfy a predetermined conclusion. But in the end, it's just warped chickenshit.
