  1. The White House was not attacked. Baloney. Shooter was republican obsessed with gun culture whose daddy owned a AR-15, which republicans have made a symbol of anti-woke culture. Probably had a Trump obsession and was made he didn’t reply to any of his love letters. It’s not uncommon for celebrities to be threatened or killed by obsessed fans. Bullshit. More of your crazy nonsense. OMG. 1) Republicans including many on this forum laughed and cheered the Paul Pelosi attack and circulated blatantly false lies about it involving gay sex, male prostitutes etc when in fact it was a mentally ill person who fixated by right wing conspiracies and rhetoric about Pelosi. Trump Jr even tweeted jokes about it. That is the depravity of the MAGAverse 2) Rand Paul was not the victim of a political attack. He was in an altercation with his next door neighbour over yard waste and demonstrated that he can’t take a punch. The Republicans sunk a new level of vileness ever since Obama was elected and republicans began openly the N word and other racist references and soon after the Cword for Hillary. Then came the false pedophile conspiracy accusations pizzagate, and so on. And you conveniently forget the right wing anti-feminist “man’s rights activist” with ties to Russia Roy Den Holander who murdered the family of “Latina” judge he deemed too progressive….or the nutjob Trump supporter mailing out mail bombs during Trumps first term. Or right wing kook Alex Jones and all the truly deplorable things he’s said for decades. Before that Rush Limbagh amd others claiming even moderate liberals are secretly Stalinists trying to impose communism…in true fashion you’re oblivious to all that but pretend to clutch your pearls over the word “deplorable”.
  2. PFFT…Trump, Republicans and their social media trolls do more than that in a single morning. True to form, you chickenhawks can dish it out by the TRUCKLOAD but cry like little biotches if you get the occasional teaspoonful in return.
  3. You’re exaggerating the “bumbling” and in that scene they are not part of the “meat shield” (which gets in the vehicle and leaves with trump). They are the security between the meat shield and the crowd and they are facing the crowd and remained after the vehicle departed. They got bumped and jostled a little by the meat shield which is behind them a little and given the tight space between them and the crowd there was some moving around for a second but as I said that’s how these things actually look in real life. Don’t rely on Hollywood movies as your reference point.
  4. That’s what these things look like in real life. Remember the SS agent struggling to climb on the back of JFKs limo? Righties would have lost their minds had that been a woman, it would have been “proof” that women are unqualified for the job and evil affirmative action is to blame.
  5. Gotta fix your ‘lie by omission’: Before joining PepsiCo, she served with distinction for 27 years in the U.S. Secret Service, most recently as Assistant Director of the Office of Protective Operations. In this position, Ms. Cheatle managed a $133.5M budget and collaborated with ten operational divisions and the Technical Security Division to research, develop and deploy technologies that reduce risks to protectees, protected facilities, and protected events. Prior to serving as Assistant Director, Ms. Cheatle served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Field Office, providing oversight for all mission related investigations, protective intelligence and protective visits in the state of Georgia. Ms. Cheatle was appointed to the Senior Executive Service (SES) in February 2016 as the Special Agent in Charge of the James J. Rowley Training Center (RTC). There she directed and coordinated all aspects of training and career development for the organization, later serving as the Deputy Assistant Director for the Office of Training. Prior to her SES appointment, Ms. Cheatle was the Special Agent in Charge, Office of Strategic Planning and Policy, where she developed and deployed an innovative web-based communication platform designed to promote open and transparent communication within the organization. https://www.secretservice.gov/about/leadership/director
  6. Meh if they were men behaving the same way the right wouldn’t question it for a minute. The truth is these events are always chaotic in real life, and rarely if ever look like they do in a Hollywood movie. We’re going to see right wingers using this to push a lot false narratives and agendas…already the Trump acolyte judge presiding over his document trial seized the opportunity to unexpectedly dismiss the entire case…look for that decision to be overturned just as her previous controversial pro-Trump decisions have
  7. Ironically this will probably make warfare more likely. Russia would never shoot down a manned US aircraft but they will take down US unmanned drones and in fact already have.
  8. Ok you’re starting to win me over
  9. Omg come on! One $15 donation when he was 17. Probably did it to impress a girl or because he was too shy to say no. He still went on to register republican and his daddy owned a AR-15 which republicans have made into a right wing virtue-signaling meme.
  10. Not true. Random chance happens more often than you think He likely doesn’t Standard formality, it would be hard to find a politician who didn’t express condolences…although if you had to place your money one someone NOT giving his condolences it would be Trump
  11. No, the shooter simply missed He’s not He “knows” this because he’s a malignant narcissist
  12. I haven’t seen anything reported about his personal life yet but let’s assumed based on the attack he is unhinged. Unhinged and has an AR-15. A familiar pattern in USA
  13. It seems he was hit by a shard of shattered teleprompter glass, rather than being shot.
  14. Shooter was 20yr old registered republican
  15. He was not a liberal, he was just crazy and believed in a series of incoherent anti-government conspiracies
  16. Thanks for the insight! What was your MOC?
  17. Yes off the Canadian coast. Does this ring a bell? Strait of Juan de Fuca laser incident On 4 April 1997, a Canadian Armed Forces helicopter was allegedly illuminated by a laser while observing the Russian merchant ship and suspected spy vessel Kapitan Man, which was in the Strait of Juan de Fuca in U.S. territorial waters near Port Angeles, Washington. The Canadian Air Force pilot and the U.S. Navy passenger, who was taking photographs of the ship, reportedly suffered eye pain and injuries consistent with laser exposure. … Responding to a request based on previous suspicious activity of the Kapitan Man, the Canadian Forcesdispatched a CH-124 helicopter to fly by the ship and take photographs of it and its abnormal aerial antenna structure, which was indicative of a ship that could be conducting ELINT or SIGINT activities. The U.S. Coast Guard had previously confiscated submarine surveillance equipment from the ship in 1993.[1] At the time of the incident, the Kapitan Manwas 5 nautical miles (9 km; 6 mi) north of Port Angeles, Washington i.e. inside U.S. territorial waters.[2] On board the aircraft were U.S. NavyLieutenant Jack Daly and Canadian Forces pilot Captain Patrick Barnes. Lt. Daly was the Navy's foreign-intelligenceliaison officer in Esquimalt, British Columbia, heading a joint U.S.-Canadian helicopter-surveillance operation against Russian, Chinese, and other spy shipsoperating in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which separates the Canadian province of British Columbia from the U.S. state of Washington, and in Puget Sound, the site of major U.S. nuclear ballistic missile submarine and aircraft carrier bases with the Royal Canadian Navy Pacific Fleet Headquarters in Esquimalt Harbour near Victoria, B.C. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strait_of_Juan_de_Fuca_laser_incident Also don’t forget this one Canadian military found Chinese monitoring buoys in the Arctic The Canadian military found and retrieved Chinese monitoring buoys in the Arctic this past fall, a development whose public exposure adds another item to a list of pressing concerns about Beijing’s interventions in Canadian affairs, including interference in recent federal elections. The buoys were spotted by the Canadian Armed Forces as part of Operation Limpid, a continuing effort to provide early detection of threats to Canada’s security. .. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-canadian-military-found-chinese-monitoring-buoys-in-the-arctic/ Look regardless of whether the subs are manned or unmanned clearly there’s a use for them But they can’t be fully replaced by other systems. A P-8 can’t remain on station undetected for days or weeks at a time
  18. So Jesus is the friend of Hitler, Stalin, Osama bin Laden and Paul Bernardo? I think you missed the part that Jesus only saves those who repent and reform? He doesn’t save active unrepentant sinners who are continuing to sin
  19. Yep plenty of people can see the parallels between rise of MAGA and rise of fascism in pre-war Europe: Religious/cultural traditionalism, immigrant scapegoating, attacks on feminism, attacks on the mainstream media (the MAGAs were even using the nazi word “Lugenpresse” during the 2016 campaign but it fell out of favour after Charlottesville) lies and conspiracy theories, belief in am infallibile “Great man,” and that ONLY HE AND HE ALONE can save uS, and of course the Great Man must have unlimited power and authority impose his will and persecute the Hated Ones and anybody else that stands in his way.
  20. If it were the other way around MAGA would be telling us it’s a false flag conspiracy. Every political party on earth has fringe hateful extremists but the Republican party has made hateful extremism mainstream This attack doesn’t change that fact. Nor does it change the fact that the heightened tension that has only escalated since Trump first entered the picture in has been primarily driven by Republicans. “Always dial it up to 11” has the been standard MAGA M.O. Would this shooter still have done what he did in a different climate? Maybe. Maybe not. Anyway Trump seems to now have his Reichstag Fire moment, regardless of whether the attack was real (as it seems to be so far) it will be used as justification for previously unthinkable actions by Republicans in the future. Just you wait.
  21. I did say earlier they need to fully evaluate unmanned/autonomous options. That goes for all branches of service most procurement projects. A drone can’t land a boarding party or embark special operations. Theres a whole spectrum of force where sinking a ship is at the extreme end. Whether at home or overseas, they can offer credible deterrence, ISR, interdiction, special forces It was after all our very own foreign minister Lester B Pearson, who helped shape NATO during its founding by insisting that it not just be a military alliance but a forum for economic and diplomatic relations so it’s fair game for them to pressure us.
  22. Not relevant to this forum please take elsewhere
  23. 1) Covert surveillance of, as opposed to interdiction …Canada has done this even with its old Oberon class subs 2) RCMP, Coast Guard no jurisdiction outside of territorial waters. Some situations require military eg Operation Megaphone https://cimsec.org/sea-control-174-operation-megaphone/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Megaphone
