  1. I started supporting them when they won the 1972 FA cup. Serves me right for being a glory hunter, I could have supported my local team (at the time) Leicester and be having a much better time of it now.
  2. I am. Still got time to screw it up again yet. 16 years in the wilderness has been too long. Only one win in the last 6 and the distance between us and 3rd place has been cut in half. I've recently started following the Leafs so being a Leeds fan has been a good preparation for disappointment.
  3. Makes you wonder why there are any homosexuals at all, what with all the heterosexual indoctrination going on. The gays are subjected to non-stop around the clock propaganda in the form of literature, film, music, commercials etc aimed at turning them straight. Not to mention the bigotry, violence and even the strong arm of the law in some countries aimed at disuading them from "choosing" to be gay. One can only assume that there must be something wrong with them. Or that it isn't a choice at all.
  4. You realise that you have just basically said "I'm all right jack screw the future of the planet" don't you? Well it's your first bit of honesty on the subject at least.
  5. Does that include those bloody terrorists back in 1776? How about Nelson Mandela? Never is a word that should be used with caution.
  6. The ''you think the world is coming to an end in 12 years'' accusation is a popular strawman. Obviously I have never said such a thing and the only people who have are guilty of completely misunderstanding the original message which is that action needs to be taken very soon or the consequences of climate change could be irreversable. ''so called experts'' is another common expression. They are experts in the feild of climate change and the vast majority of them agree that the current climate change is the result of increased greenhouse gases. The only people who prefix with ''so called'' are those who don't like their findings. Then there's the ''paid off by...'' argument which is laughable when you look into the funding of climate change denying articles (usually not peer reviewed in any meaningful way). Followed by the ''no true Scotsman'' argument. Hollywood celebrities fly private jets around the world therefore climate change is a hoax. Doesn't matter if 16 year olds sail across the Atlantic shitting in a bucket because ''Leo Decrapio owns big gas guzzling vehicles''. The vested interests of politicians bought and paid for by the fossil fuel lobby don't get recognised because some rich celebrity is a hypocrite. I myself live offgrid in an old lorry entirely powered by wind and solar. I use a composting toilet, never fly, use tiny amounts of water (I have to carry it 100yds from the nearest tap) I don't buy anything unless I really need it and replace things only when they are completely worn out. I drive a 20 year old 1000cc car which gets 50-60 mpg. I don't eat meat or have a pet. I could go on but all my efforts are worth nothing unless I live in a cave as a hunter gatherer. This is why I'd rather discuss possible solutions rather than waste my time ''debating'' with people convinced by politicians and powerful lobbies rather than climate science experts.
  7. It's an argument I've had multiple times in multiple threads on multiple forums. Whenever evidence is posted it is usually ignored and the denier moves on to the next talking point without even trying to counter the evidence provided. Why has Iceland had unprecidented snowfall? What about Milankovitch cycles? Tomatoes used to grow at the North pole...all that kind of stuff. Then when you explain that higher atmospheric temperatures lead to increased precipitation or sunspot activity cannot explain current trends etc they just move on to the next one. I'm more interested in talking about possible ways of mitigating the consequences nowadays or countering the outright fake news like the fabrication going around at the moment about how the Australian bushfires are all started by arsonists so that proves climate change has no link to the severity of the fires. Links to evidence just get ignored or dismissed as ''climate change propaganda'' from scientists chasing government grants.
  8. Why? Would you even read the links if I provided them? What is the point of debating science with someone who doesn't believe that a concensus of experts on the subject means anything? Does that answer your question?
  9. As if you would respect the opinion of an actual climate change scientist...
  10. Oh please, tell us how you think feminism and environmentalism are Communist you giant hypocrite.
  11. They weren't so keen back in 1776.
  12. God, Queen and country is not very American. Americans are more
  13. The hottest decade on record and the rise of environmental awareness.
  14. Huh? Those were the 4 points you raised yourself. Ps The UK is actually short of immigrant labour now and it has had serious consequences to key industries such as agriculture and healthcare.
  15. The only court which trumps the British courts is the European Court of Human Rights. Newsflash, the ECHR has nothing to do with the EU and Brexit will make no difference to its supremacy over British law.
  16. Our biggest cultural threat is from the US not Europe. Immigration will not fall in numbers post Brexit. Even Boris refused to say that numbers should fall, instead prefering to talk about a points system. The UK has remained independent for the last 40 years in Europe. Parliament is supreme, there is not one single law or regulation forced on us without the approval of Parliament. Nationalism is just code for intolerant racism. The EU is about free trade and ease of movement between the UK and it's major trading partners. To throw that away for some ignorant belief that ''sovereignty'' will be returned is the most stupid thing the UK has ever done.
  17. Tell me, do you think that the Leave side would have just given up and accepted the result if it was them that had lost 48-52? What do you think the leavers would have said if Remain had based their campaign on lies about how much we sent to the EU each week or how easy it would be to make new deals with them? What if it were the Remain campaign which had been found guilty of breaking electoral laws rather than the Leave campaign? The British electorate was not only uninformed it was deliberately misinformed.
  18. ...and a happy holidays to you too doc.
  19. Nope, it's the other shit you should have left unsaid. Happy Hanukkah.
  20. 7 hrs 19 mins time to be exact at 04.19 GMT
  21. Warmer climate leads to more moisture in the air. More moisture in the air leads to more precipitation. More precipitation leads to 30' snowbanks in Iceland. Simples.
  22. My mistake, I thought you were whining about being a poor persecuted Christian. Have a cool Yule and a happy Saturnalia.
